I'm using this for IMST training which can apparently reduce blood pressure. The only disadvantage this has over the expensive Powerbreathe is that you cannot measure your maximum inspiratory pressure. Thus you must estimate what 75% of your maximum is.

I have horrible cardiovascular ability due to a few health issues early in life, and I've recently been looking for ways to improve my breathing strength and quality. I thought I would give this a try. For maximum benefit you'll want to watch the video that the instructions link you to since they're easier to understand. There are a few different settings you can pick from by turning the red dials but it's really hard to see the tiny numbers that are part of the plastic mold. If you don't have young eyes then you'll want a lot of light or your glasses to help out. The good news is you can tell how hard or easy it is the first time you use it and can adjust accordingly. It seems to work well in my week or so of use so far. The only real complaint is I'm not sure what the best way to clean it is. I rinse it under soapy water in the sink but then you need to let it air dry overnight otherwise if you do any inhaling then you suck in whatever water is left inside. Easy enough to make sure you clean it after use, but still something to consider. No major complaints and I'd say if this is something you're looking for in the price range you want then it's probably a good buy.

I received this item today and have used it for a two-minute session. It provides variable resistance, as advertised, and it's easy to change the strength settings. The inhale and exhale levels can be adjusted independently. You can choose between two types of mouth-pieces. For me the 'bite-plate' mouth-piece gave me jaw-pain, so I switched to the other style. A downside of this device is that the strength settings aren't clearly marked; they are small numbers etched in plastic - you need to look carefully in order to make them out. The device does NOT come with a storage case or bag.
