After doing some research on the best ways to reduce sun spots and hyperpigmentation, I came across this product. It was recommended by several dermatologists that I respect and the price was reasonable so I thought I would try it. I was prepared for the scent because I read reviews about it prior to buying, and yes, it does have an unpleasant odor (from the active ingredients). However, once I rub it in, the smell dissipates quickly so I can live with it. The formula itself is wonderful. It is lightweight and smooth, but also very moisturizing. I have very sensitive skin so I started using it 1-2x a week initially, and worked my way up to daily. My skin tolerates it with no problem now. I did patch test initially as well, which I would suggest doing.I choose to wear it in the mornings underneath sunscreen and tinted moisturizer because it can't be used with retinol which I use at night. I have been using it consistently for about a month and I definitely notice a difference. My skin tone is clear and radiant, and my sun spots are slowly fading. It isn't an overnight miracle but with consistent use I know it will help me achieve my skin goals. I am happy with the price and the amount of product you get. I think this tube will likely last me 5-6 months; a little goes a long way because it spreads and rubs in easily. Overall, I am happy with this purchase and will definitely buy it again.

Just a word of derma wisdom to some of you when using this product. When you are dealing with hyperpigmentation, the older the spots the more difficult it will be for it to fade away because it has seeped deeply into your layers of skin.....so this works but it is not a miracle worker. ANY over the counter dark spot removers, work their best on fresh hyperpigmentation about less than four months old. If you have spots that have been there for years, if you refuse to use sunscreen on a daily basis....ain't nothing going to work for you poo! With that being said, this works very well and I like that it takes it's time fading the spots which me it's gentle to my skin. I have seen the difference using this but I also use a retinol, Vitamin C and sunscreen. The smell to me is not as bad as some folks make it out to be....I think they are being a tad bit dramatic. Use this in concert with other methods but it does work.

i have repurchased this 3 times now, because it truly does work! it is a great retinol substitute and helps with discoloration and scarring. the only downfall is that it stinks! it smells so bad. that may be a dealbreaker for you, but if you can stomach the smell, i say buy it!!

TLDR versionAfter 5 weeks daily AM useProsReduced appearance of age spots slightly. Very slightly.First couple days of use caused slight irrititation/reddening but after that no irritation.ConsPRICEYSlightly funky smell, but dissipates in less than an hour. Not a deal breaker.Leaves skin feeling greasy for hoursSometimes caused pimples to occur, the kind you might get when eating too much chocolate. Not sure this product caused it but I *think* it did.My final verdict: I wouldn't buy it again at half the price.Loquacious versionI have lived in sunny hot places most of my life. I never used sunscreen regularly until about a year ago. Not surprisngly I have a few age spots/sun spots on my face, arms and back of my hands. I want to get rid of them so I got expert advice (Thank You Drs. Dray, Shah, and Maxfield) and began a program that includes daily sunscreen use and active topicals including tretinoin and hydroquinone and other things. I have been using this program for 10 months. In this 10 months I have experienced the spots diminish in size and darkness, very very slowly. Painfully slowly. Did the daily use of sunscreen accomplish this? The active topicals? I don't know. I wondered if an over the counter product with a good reputation like FADED might give better results so I bought one large tube, stopped using hydroquinone, and used Faded every day till the tube was empty. That turned out to be five weeks. The result was that my spots continued fade away very very slowly, noticeably more slowly than when I was using hydroquinone . And FADED is rather stinky and kept my skin feeling greasy for hours whenever used. And I got occaisional minor pimple breakouts while using that *I think* was caused by FADED. So the FADED was all used up two and a half weeks ago. I resumed using hydroquinone daily when the FADED was gone, and my my spots continue to fade but noticeably faster. So my experience validates what my dermatoligist advisors have said, that hydroquinone is the gold standard for removing age spots/sun spots.This was my experience. Your experience may, probably will, differ.
