5.0 out of 5 stars great option for my cats and dogs during cold winter. Traps and reflects heat. Cozy

Soft fluffy sherpa-like fleece on outside (helps trap heat), interior pad has reflective material (helps reflect heat), slim zipper, slightly grippy bottom.Basically takes the animals heat and helps maintain it by trapping heat and reflecting it back. If animal or environment is actually very cold, then this may not help. For that, you may want to add under it a low watt heated pad. I did this for my elderly cats. They had their favorite place to sleep, and always had both options available 24/7.Good size for any cat and smaller dogs, or larger dogs that dont need their entire body on it. I bought the larger 29" x 19" because I figured if I dont use it for my cats, then my southern rescue dog would appreciate it during the cold northern winters. I can put it on my lap or underneath me if no one liked it.But, My cats liked it just fine, they like it tucked into one of their existing beds. However, I also tried it for my dogs, and as anticipated, my 50 lb mega mutt loves it. I usually put a nice blanket down for her on the couch, similar in material as this is, but it has brought her extra pleasure and comfort to have this slim pad to curl up on whether the blanket it there or not. This isnt my first self warming pad. I have others I have used through the years, and wanted another as the others are in specific locations that the cats sometimes use. This one is different in the top material is fluffy, and more flexible than the other two I own. Both styles are good, this one is pricier than the other I linked to. I think if I bought more, it would be this one. I like the added softness and flexibility, where as the other is slightly more firm. Depends on needs and where it is placed. This is neat. I will feel the warmth after she leaves it. I feel it on the top side as well as the underside. It isnt hot or anything, but it really helps the animal to keep their heat. So no loss but no major gain either. I wouldnt use these necessarily for an outdoor animal on its own. Maybe a very low wattage heat pad, then this with it if it is really cold out. Animal needs to already have some heat of their own in order for this to make sense. They cant heat up the pad if they arent warm. If elements strip away the heat, then this may not help them. But for indoor use, especially cooler environments (we keep our house on cooler side in winter) this can help immensely to keep them comfy. Or for those that simply like warmer sleeping arrangements.
5.0 out of 5 stars These actually are really warm and easy to clean!
I have 3 of these so far and 1 more on the way and I thought they were a little bit flimsy for the price but they actually are really warm for my cats and they're very easy to clean also because you can undo the zipper part and take out the inside lining so that it doesn't get wet and you can just wash the outer part and then once it dries put the inside back in the same way you took it out with the more silvery part facing up more directly under the top part that your pets actually lie on and you're ready to use it again to help keep your pets warm but these really do feel warm and you can put your hand on them and feel the warmth and I did put another real thin cat blanket over one of these to help keep this blanket the first one I got clean but that took away the warmth so just use these the way they are without covering them with anything else because they are a lot warmer that way and that's how they work but I highly recommend these for sure!
5.0 out of 5 stars Olaf von Snowman Approves this Message.
Olaf von Snowman has MANY beds, and it's not common he takes to one as immediately as he did this one.He loves the feeling of sherpa and fleece, so that probably was what attracted him to this bed so quickly. The top layer is a fake sherpa, and he likes to make biscuits in it (I assume he likes the texture on his claws and paws). The bed does kind of tell you how it works in terms of the "self heating" aspect but I, as the human, have no earthly idea if it works or not. I can only tell you that Olaf the cat loafs on it and often choose it as THE bed for the day/night.It is just a flat bed, it's pretty big for my average 13/14 pound cat, he can lay out on it and not worry about space. This is nice for him, bc I also have an electric cat "bed" (pad, whatever) and he loves that, but it's a little small for his body, so he can't fit his whole self on there if he's lazing on it. This one is not that, your small to small-medium dog could also fit on it. My late 20 pound tabby could've also fit on it - what I'm saying is it's a decent size and Olaf approves. As the human, I like it. I can move it easily and I am happy when he's happy. He has many beds that he alternates between but is always cautious when choosing beds at the beginning and this one was an immediate "why, yes, I shall loaf on that human" sort of bed - and for the price and his happiness? I'd recommend it!
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect solution
My cat and dog both like it very much
5.0 out of 5 stars Bought two of these for outside rescue cats.
My outside rescue cats loved these this past winter. They stayed on them a lot. I was looking for something non electric. I ordered a second one. After winter I washed the covers for use next winter to have them ready. They washed well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Grey self heating pad
Good size and good thickens that will allow me to fold and store it. Both cats were laying on it as soon as I unboxed it.
3.0 out of 5 stars Warm, but not attracting our cats.
The bed seems to warm up just fine, but our two cats don't want to sleep on it... even our cat that is always cold. Not sure why. 🤷🏼♀️
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product
This is our cat’s ‘go to’ place to sleep or just hang out. The size is perfect for him at 14 lbs
My cats use it & love it
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } TL;DR (for those not up to snuff on online lingo, this means “too long; didn’t read” and summarizes a lengthy post, or in this case, a lengthy review. You’re welcome.)– Gorgeous, soft sherpa or sherpa-like top cover.– The cats use it and will sometimes stay there for a long time.– Try covering it with a pillow case or one of your t-shirts if you’ve given them, say, a week or two and they really don’t seem to be catching on that this is a good thing. Also catnip.– It is not a bed but a pad. You’ll be disappointed if you’re expecting it to be thick like a bed.– It does not heat up on its own but uses the pet’s body temperature to provide heat. Hence the description self-warming or self-heating.– It is not noiseless. There is a quiet crinkle sound.– Overall an excellent purchase and one I highly recommend.I put this on a chair in front of the loveseat where we sit. It took both cats a few days to be brave enough to sit on it (we had placed them on it a few times but they jumped off of it immediately.) Once the cats discovered it for themselves they started lying on that chair when we’re in the room, and will sometimes stay there long after we leave for another part of the house.I bought another one of these of a different brand from Bolo (cheaper than this one) at the same time I ordered this. This one is much nicer, though to be fair the cats seem to like them both equally. I just think the cover of this one is softer and a better quality material. In spite of what the listing says, it is not quiet. There is a crinkle sound. To me it sounds a bit like when you pull apart clothes from the dryer that are stuck together by static cling. It is subtle but worth mentioning for people who can’t tolerate certain sounds. One of my cats kneads it before she lies down on it so I think she likes it. It’s like a crinkly cat toy.I see so many reviews saying the cat didn’t take to it. The key to making it work is just like the real estate mantra: location, location, location. And time. Just let them discover it and try it out themselves. It may take a while but be patient. Put it in a spot you know they like already, or are likely to like. In a sunny spot perhaps, but somewhere near you. Cats want to be in the same room as us, if not right next to us or on our laps. I saw one reviewer say that now her cat lies next to her on the couch since she got the pad. You can always put a pillow case or one of your old shirts on top of it — or wrapped around it — if your cat is fussy about textures and just doesn’t like the top fabric. Also try sprinkling a little catnip on it.Lots of comments in the reviews about it not being thick. It’s a mat, not a bed. You can put it ON a bed if you like but this is not meant to be thick like that, though admittedly they do use the word “bed” in the heading for the listing before they call it a pad.The mat does not heat up. How it works: the bottom of the cover blocks cold, the bottom layer inside reflects the pet’s body heat, the next layer up insulates, and then there’s the top cover, which is the part they lie on and is a beautiful, soft sherpa. It uses the cat’s own body heat to create the warmth. I have one of these I bought years ago that plugs in and even it doesn’t actually heat up but also uses the cat’s body heat & weight (it needs some weight, I guess, for all the layers to work together.)I am impressed. I wasn’t sure if it would flop because I was skeptical that it would stay warm as it says it does, but it works!
A birthday present win!
Bought this for one of our girls celebrating a birthday this week. Well! To say it was a hit is an understatement. Usually when I buy new stuff for our cats, they are initially hesitant, especially with anything that smells different. As soon as I put this on the floor, our birthday girl immediately curled up on it. Then our other kitty comes over to curl up on it. It's to the point now that wherever they want to lay down, they're looking around for their new mat, so I move it to where they are. I ended up ordering another large one and three small ones to place in their carriers and in their favorite napping spots. Absolutely recommend!
It’s ok
My cat wasn’t impressed.
The best cat bed!
This is the best cat bed. My cat went on it within a minute of me opening it.It is soft fluffy and very good quality.Feels warm and the material is great. No plug in, which i love. Not sure if it’s keeping my cat warm. But he loves it!I recommend this product and give it 5 stars
Instant love
My cat loved it instantly! She has been very picky with cat beds, it usually takes a lot of coaxing and a few weeks for her to like something I bring home. I've moved it around to different spots and she will follow it. I am definitely getting a second, maybe a third later too.Decent quality. Zipper is good quality and smooth glide. I like that the outer layer is washable. My cat kneads the top layer and has pulled some tuffs up but I do not mind, she is just adding her homely touches.
