All my dogs love it. I bought it specifically for my Boston that has Cushings. Unfortunately with Cushings disease, she feels hungry all the time. This helped to let her feel a little fuller longer. Very easy to use. For my dog, I would add water, put in a container with a lid and then put in the refrigerator and take out only what I needed. This makes a lot of food. Would be great to take on trips as it wouldn’t take up as much room and your dog is getting a great meal source. Highly recommend

We switched to Nature's Diet Simply Raw Freeze-Dried Raw Whole Food Meal (Beef) from IAMS dry dog food due to our dog’s skin/hair problems, digestive issues, and gas. We have an 85lb hound. Here’s what I’ve learned after 13 bags of this stuff over the last 4+ months.The Good:After a month, my dog’s skin/hair problems, digestive issues, and gas were all resolved.We previously fed her 2 cups of IAMS dry dog food per meal (2x per day). Now she only eats 1 to 1.25 cups of Nature’s Diet meal.Dog drinks less than half of the water she used to.The Bad:You have to mix this food with water, in a 1:1 ratio, and then let it sit for 15mins to 1hour.Once the food is mixed with water we normally let it sit for 15 mins and it quickly congeals into a thick moist paste with hydrated chucks of meat and vegetables. This is what I consider to be the normal or “good” consistency.Some bags however don’t congeal at all no matter how long you let it sit. This means you feed your dog something like a brown soup with hard chunks of meat and vegetables in it. Not good. I’m guessing these bags lack whatever binding agent they use. After having this problem twice, I decided to open another bag of Nature’s Diet and see if it had the same “brown soup” consistency but it did not. The bag appeared to congeal or thicken as expected. Based on that, I mixed the good bag and the bad bag together and had a dog food that was somewhere between good and bad consistency.Then it happened again. One good bag, one bad bag. I mixed the two and worked with what we had.Then I had six “bad” bags of Nature’s Diet. Every bag, whether of good or bad quality, had the same label which indicated “1722292 Best Buy 10/2024.”Different Purchasing Options:Originally I purchased this product from Bolo and then learned I could get it a few dollars cheaper directly from the Nature’s Diet website. Because of the issues identified here, I’ve switched back and forth between Bolo and direct from Nature’s Diet and the lack of consistency exits no matter where you purchase it from.Lack of Customer Service:At this price point, I was done conducting my own dog food science experiments. I sent the company and email describing these issues and asked for a resolution. After more than two weeks, I never received a response.I reviewed Nature’s Diet return/refund policy and it stated you can only return unopened food. That’s problematic for customers when you don’t know what you’re going to get before you open the bag.With their lack of response to my email, I contacted them using their “Contact Us” feature on their website. After more than two weeks using “Contact Us”, I never received a response.In summary, this is not what I consider quality dog food. Based on my experience, there appears to be no consistency from one bag to the next. It appears Nature’s Diet has no quality control. It also appears they have no customer service.Based on these experiences, I plan to transition to a competitors product.

My rescue dog was never interested in food. She would let her kibble sit for 2 days+ sometimes. (she was never underweight, but always very lean) I was researching and trying many different things, weighing reactions, I gave this a shot.After 4 years - Birdie has a really consistent eating schedule! She even gets antsy when she knows it’s about dinner time.I still open feed a bowl of kibble. I make a separate bowl of the Simply Raw to stretch this stuff as far as I can. I think her having a wet food “appetizer” helps her digestion with the dry kibble. Even then, sometimes she still leaves the kibble alone & only eats the wet food.I finish a Simply Raw bag in about 3 weeks. (1/2 Cup a Day). Its easier to store than canned food, I buy disposable bowls for this specifically, because cleaning it off ceramic once it dries is tough. also, who wants extra dishes?This stuff smells a little stinky like puke but who cares im just happy she has a routine & put on a little weight!

More veggies and fruit and meat. I do like that after sitting to rehydrate all night it was even had fats and my dog liked that the best. Compared to other freeze dried products my dog won't eat most of it. He picks out the meaty bits and pumpkin. I think it was too much for his picky palate.

As a human when you rehydrate this food, it’s the one that looks the most appealing out of the ones that I’ve tried that are freeze dried. However, my dog, who is usually a fan of the soft food and leaves his kibble to rot, won’t touch the stuff unless I hand feed it to him. I like the price compared to some of the others and honestly, the rehydrated looks more like real food than some of the others. But sadly, I have to cancel my subscription because my dog won’t eat the stuff.

I’ve been buying this food for a couple years now. I tried it because my rescued mixed breed was getting picky. Eating the same kibble every day didn’t sound like a very good way for her to live. She immediately loved this food and still does.I don’t understand the negative reviews. Read the d*** directions! Shake and/or mix the bag well before using. Use warm water and let it sit. I make 1 day’s worth the night before and put it in the fridge. It thickens so I’ll add water at times.Real meat, bone broth, and all the other good stuff in there makes me confident my dog is getting the best nutrition.
