I live in Texas where the sun is actually out to kill you in the summer. The radiant heat is no joke-and being an owner of a car with leather interiors, I get seared every time I come back to my car after leaving it for just 15 minutes. This sun shade is literally a perfect fit for the windshield of my Golf TSI, filling every gap up to the corners. You do have to squish it in a little. It even has a little velcro strap to cover the gap behind the rear view mirror. Major difference when I get in the car, at least 15 degrees cooler than without the shade. I had even considered tinting my windows but now I don't need to with this sunshade.The sunshade is some kind of aluminum material facing outward, and black facing in. It folds up into a little circle about the size of your steering wheel. There is also a little pouch for you to store it when folded up.Never going back to the generic walmart sunshades again... highly recommend vehicle make and model specific sunshades like this. I'm pretty sure this will work for the Golf GTI but can't confirm.

I've tried a handful of different shades in different cars, but this is the first I've had one that claims to be a custom fit for a specific model, and the difference is noticeable.I got this for my 2019 GTI to replace a generic two-piece set that were designed for a larger windshield. They were hard to put up as a result, and had no accomodations for the rearview mirror.This set, however, fits like a glove. It's got a cutout for the mirror (with a handy Velcro strap to help keep it up) and it fits nicely into all the little gaps and fully covers the windshield. It stays up pretty well by itself, but putting the visors down really seals the deal.There are some slight downsides, but they're the sort that come with any shade this style: it's hard to fold back up to put in it's pouch, and if you've got a passenger you'd better tell them to duck when you go to put it up. It's...unwieldy at best.Bottom line: fits great, blocks the sun.

Definitely recommend for VW Golf R’s (mines a 2017). It’s a little awkward to fold up and/or put in the windshield, but that’s mostly because it is so form fitted to the windshield, but it’s worth it.

Easy to pop into the windshield and keep in place. It really does help keep the car interior cooler. The tricky bit is the twisting and folding to get it into the little bag, but no doubt I'll figure it out. The instructions (with pictures!) make it look so easy. I shall be interested to find out how long it lasts as the sun has destroyed all previous sun shades.

The California sun is relentless. These help, but they are not magic as the position of the car exposes other windows too : park in a way that most sun is received front. In general they are useful. The velcro at the top mirror opening is a bit hard to put on and off, and more often than not, I move the mirror by accident - this is minor annoyance. The shades fit well and cover the whole front window. That said, they are big and they are not easy to fold inside my small car, and sometimes I just toss them on the back seat unfolded. The benefit of few degrees cooler, helps the car, car battery and the energy for air-conditioner.

Fits the entire window of the eGolf perfectly. Its so big it's annoying to fold up sometimes, but it always goes back together easily, I just get crammed up trying to do it in the front seat.

I agree that it is a good fit, and superior to most sun shades you would find at department stores. This product does fold up easily and fit into the provided flimsy fabric case. I cannot agree with the cost, I think it is over priced for what you get, but does the job. My Bolo rating is based off of a week's usage and evaluated against cheap Dollar Store/Wal-Mart sun shades, as well as against a high quality, perfectly custom fit sun shade that I recently purchased for my truck.

The hidden wires were not perfectly stitched to match, gave up folding after 10 minsIt covers the windsheld 98%, both side surfaces came in wrinkles.
