I started using my bread machine. I found that I can't cut slices in a straight line. This product solves that issue and now I have uniform slices that work great for sandwiches or toasting.The slots are not quite as sturdy as I'd like, but it gets the job done and that's all that matters to me.I'm happy with my purchase.

Not sturdy enough. The plastic will move so cuts are still not even, but overall better than trying to do it by hand! Love the ease of storage and small folding.

So I really have nothing redeeming to say about this but I will try! I do feel it was a waste of money.Positives:It’s smallFits next to the bread box.Compact and foldableEasy to hand washFits most standard American supermarket breads and bread machine sized loavesLots and lots and lots of room for improvementNegatives:Slice is very wide 3/4 inchThe slots to slide your knife in are very narrowDoesn’t fit artisan loavesToo short for bagel and a knife bothToo light slides all over the placeThere is no opening at the top of the slots to lift, angle or move your knife to perform a sawing motion to slice the breadThere are no feet, suction or way to hold the device in placeThere is nothing to hold the loaf in place....imagine holding the stand, holding the bread, trying to slide a good bread knife into a needle sized slot and then doing a motion with zero clearance to saw/slice a piece of bread. Not to mention, if you want a normal thickness for your first slice you have to not push it up to the end! Did you run out of hands? Can you imagine how bad the slices turned out?I cannot recommend this to anyone.

First off: It does the job well....BUT...awkward and needs vigilance as you do your slicing. You really need to hold the loaf with force againt the wall of slicer with non dominant hand. It is a very fragile plastic. I cut my bread machine tall loaf in half down the middle and resulted in 1/2 slices which are fine for me I Just Push the loaf forward - slice and release - remove slice and repeat. It resulted in perfect slices for sandwich or toasting. I freeze cut slices and nuke 25sec for use. It has a small footprint (bamboo slicers take up lots of room and are 3/4 more expensive) I recommend this but because of the awkwardness and poor plastic quality Iwithheld 1 star.

I had intended to use this for bagels but they didn’t work well. The plastic is very flimsy and bends easily. It’s a great idea but poor quality materials.

I have made my own bread for many years. For all these years, my husband has struggled to cut the loaf of bread evenly which, to be honest, drives this girl with OCD crazy! I have tried other bread slicing guides all of which were too flimsy and resulted in a mess. Eventually, they went to the garbage and I just dealt with the uneven loaf cuts. Fast forward to my search for a new slicing guide that might work. I purchased this item because it is compact and I don't have a lot of countertop real estate and it was fairly inexpensive.I found this slicing guide to be great quality for the cost and very simple to use. I never told my husband that I had purchased it and left it folded next to my coffee maker thinking I'd have to provide a tutorial to him at some point. A few days later, he said to me how nice and easy that slicing guide was to use. I was speechless but agreed completely. He said he used it every morning when he is cutting the bread loaf for toast and was pleased with how easy it was to use and resulted in a perfect slice, depending upon how thick he wanted.I'm here to say that I can't believe such a simple, cost effective gadget could create such kitchen harmony!!! I recommend this for anyone that struggles to slice bread loaves, muffins or bagels evenly and to the desired thickness.

At first I was going to return this bread slice guide because it was too small for my homemade sourdough bread. But I figured it was awfully inexpensive and maybe I'd use it for something else. I recently began making my sourdough in loaves for convenience and more standard sandwich size and glad I didn’t send it back! Very useful and such a compact design! Easy to use & keep clean plus I enjoy the size choice of the guides for bread thickness. Want to add, for home sourdough bakers, the crust on my loaves tened to be tough, but since I replaced 50g of yogurt for part of the water im my recipe, the bread crust has been much softer and easier to slice.

It worked and was sturdy but unfortunately I’m returning it. This item broke. It should not be so delicate that merely slicing bread causes it to break. So disappointed. I’ve ordered a different brand that hopefully is made more sturdy.

A very thin plastic construction with a high change of breakage during use.
Do the job
The slice size is excellent, easy to use, only down side is the plastic will shred while cutting with a bread knife with time, and it is almost un avoidable. I would move for a wooden one next.
