Easy to use and work well. I keep the lid tight and keep them away from heat/moisture to make sure they last.

4.0 out of 5 stars Expiration

    J. · April 28, 2025

I purchased these in Feb. 2023 and they worked great, but, they do not last till the expiration date. Expiration on my bottle was April 2025, they were dead before that, would not register ketobodies while I confirmed ketosis with another product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works.

I was trying to save money buying these strips. They do work. I didn't like the process so ordered the meter later.

3.0 out of 5 stars May not be suitable if you are a senior

These are the instructions which come with the package. Read carefully, because it may affect whether you choose to use this product or not.Note: Any visual impairment, including but not limited to color blindness, will affect the user's ability to read the test results. To perform a midstream test:1. Gently wash the genital area thoroughly with soap and water then rinse well prior to testing. Wash your hands.2. Remove the strip from the vial and use the strip as soon as possible. Immediately close the vial tightly.3. Hold the end of the strip farthest away from the test pad(s) and begin urinating. After 1 or 2 seconds of passing urine, hold the strip downward with the test pad pointing into the urine stream for 1 - 2 seconds. Make sure the test pad is completely wet.4. After removing the strip from your urine, immediately bring the edge of the strip into contact with an absorbant material (e.g., paper towel) to remove excess urine. Lay the strip with the test pad(s) facing upwards and begin timing.5. You may read results starting at 40 seconds. After 2 minutes, the results may not be accurate. Compare the test pad to the color blocks on the vial label. Make sure that you read the results in a well-lit area. Hold the strip close to the color blocks, and carefully match the pad to the color chart. Discard the strip after 2 minutes. What do the color blocks on the vial represent?... The color blocks from left (light color) to right (dark color) represent, 0 mmoi/L (-), 0.5 mmoi/L (+), 1.5 mmoi/L (++), 4.0 mmoi/L (+++), 8.0 mmoi/L (++++) and 16 mmoi/L (++++). Proper read time is important for best results. What does it mean if my result is negative?A negative result means that ketones were not detected in the urine. This is normal if eating a high-carbohydrate diet of if you are eating a low-carbohydrate diet after several weeks and have become fat-adapted. Once you've become fat-adapted, the ketones you produce may no longer be spilled into your urine.SUMMARY(1) if you are a senior, as I am--- (1.1) chances are you can not take the time to stop and wash the area in question. Getting to the commode is first and foremost on your mind!--- (1.2) starting and stopping the flow may be near impossible; or simply not long enough to accommodate 1-2 seconds--- (1.3) not be able to direct the flow onto the strip, especially if you are female(2) how to interpret the results? It's nice that all that technical jargon is provided but what the heck does it mean? What value(s) should I be looking for? What value is ketosis? What value is ketoacidosis? Also, what if my color is somewhere between 2 colors? How do I interpret that results?(3) the reason I sent it back is because I've been on Keto diet for 4 months-- according to their own insert, it's not likely to produce a useful result as I am "fat adapted."I've attached scans of the insert, both front and back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as blood test.

They do what they are suppose to. They are not as accurate as the blood test but they do show if you have ketones.

1.0 out of 5 stars Erroneous reading

Compared the strip results to a blood ketone level. Blood test indicated 4.5. Test strips indicated greater than 8.Update from correspondence with the vendor pasted verbatim below. The first is a FORA 6 and the other is a Medilax. Both meter agree with each other. Your strips are actually worse than I reported, they generally show my keytone levels to be at or above 16 mmol/L when my blood meter/s shows my keytone levels to be at 2.4. Not quite sure how you resolve that. It is not about the money it is about the product accuracy. Your strips essentially tell me I am at risk of ketoacidosis. If you truly want to resolve the issue order several of your strips from Bolo and test their accuracy. If they are bad then do a voluntary recall.Jan 18, 2024 2:22 PMHello Michael,We're so sorry you are concerned about your meter readings. If you feel the meter is giving you inaccurate readings, our first suggestion is to try the control solutions. Control solutions are a way to test your meter so you know that it is giving you accurate results; however, it is very rare to need a control solution for a Keto-Mojo meter, as our meters seldom fall out of calibration. That said, we include information about control solutions in our manual so you will know you have a way to benchmark if you feel your meter is not working properly. Our control solutions contain a known amount of β-Ketone or Glucose that can react with Keto-Mojo test strips. You can purchase control solutions on our website.Reasons that Merit a Control-Solution Test for Your Keto-Mojo Meter: You suspect the meter or test strips are not working properly. You have dropped or think you may have damaged the meter.Your blood ketone or glucose test results are not consistent with how you feel. You think the results are inaccurate. You're a control freak and just wanna know :)You're practicing the testing process. You can check the performance of the meter, test strip, and your technique by comparing the control solution results with the range printed on the label of test strip vial. Checking regularly ensures your test results are accurate. If your control-solutions quality control check fails, conduct another quality control check and then contact Customer Service. Our contact number is on the bottom of your meter, on the vials of strips and on the box the meter kit came in. guaranteed for life. Please refer to the Owner's Manual that came with your meter.Lauren Keto-Mojo...Jan 18, 2024 3:00 PMIt is not either of my meters it is your strips. I will update my review with more accurate data that shows your strips are dangerous.Jan 18, 2024 3:12 PMHello Michael, Please disregard the last message it was sent by mistake. We are very sorry you are having an issue with the Urine strips. We stand by our product and are happy to give you a refund for the product.I would like to address the issues you are having. It is very hard to compare urine strips to blood tests. They test two different types of Ketones. There are many reasons why urine strips would give false readings. We see this more often when someone is seeing ketones in their blood test. Often once our body is using Ketones for fuel you will not receive correct results with the Urine strips. Here are a number of things that can cause urine strips to give false results as listed below:1) Certain medications can give false readings when testing with urine. for example, Levodopa taken for Parkinson’s or Restless Leg Syndrome can cause a false-negative result. Ace Inhibitors such as Lisinopril can cause false-positives when using urine tests containing nitroprussides. Highly colored urine as when taking Pyridium (for painful urinary tract infections – turns urine purple) can cause a false reading as well as using a medication called Depakote. 2) Urine can be inaccurate due to sitting in the bladder for an extended period or remaining in the ambient air for a long time. Urine concentration can cause inaccurate results. 3) Excess ascorbic acid or Vitamin C can cause a false-positive result.Urine strips test for Acetoacetate (AcAc): Acetoacetate is the first ketone body that is produced and is spilled into your urine, especially in the early stages of ketosis, but rarely in later stages will results be correct.Blood Strips test for Beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB): BHB is the most prevalent and stable ketone body in the blood and is readily transported to cells to use as fuel. It can fuel most of the brain’s energy needs along with organs and muscles and represents approximately 70% of the available ketone energy. Once your body is using ketones for fuel the ketones will show in your blood. At this point Urine strips may not show the correct readings. We are not seeing this issue with others. It is important to us that we only sell product we know works correctly. We have a team of quality control that test regularlyYou will see a refund on your account within 1-2 business days.Lauren Keto-Mojo...
