As an open water swimmer, I have struggled with making myself visible to boaters while I train. While I always take caution to swim inside the buoys if at the beach, or in a no wake zone if in the bay; I'm always worried about boaters who are increasingly distracted or even reckless. When a young girl was recently killed by a boater in my area a few months ago. I decided, unequivocally, that it is MY RESPONSIBILITY to make sure that I am as visible as possible.This system is a HUGE improvement over the inflatable orange buoy I used to tow behind me.1. IT HAS A DIVE FLAG. By law, boaters must stay clear 300ft if in open ocean or 100ft if in a channel or narrow waterway2. The dive flag is sturdy and stays upright even in 2-3 ft chop3. the lifeguard buoy follows/ floats easily behind me and doesn't cause excessive drag4. the buoy has a whistle for safety and other items (gopro, hydration, etc) can be attached to the velcro strap if neededI have this system hooked up with a V-line that attaches to each of my ankles which transfers the pull from each kick. Each line is long enough so if I stop swimming I can stretch my legs.I have not used it for freediving YET, but when I do, I will likely change out the line to a single long line attached to one ankle to maximize depth and minimize tangle.Definetely, 100% recommend.

Really it's a 4.5 but gave it the 5. Product worked great for the shore spearfishing we were doing at 15-20 ft dives. We strung a fish line to it to attach the fish we speared off it. Reason why it's a 4.5 and not a 5 is because of the original lines it came with to hold the flag in place seemed flimsy and unreliable. I rigged it with my own red dive line I had. Aside from that it buoy worked great. Flag stayed up whole time, it's sturdy, all red so it adds to being more easily seen. My buddie and I were taking turns diving, whole one diver down method. The other would hold on to the bout and safety. Would highly recommend. It's pricy but I feel like it's going to last. Maybe look out to reinforce the flag as well because I feel that would be the first thing to go.

I use this can buoy as a compact way to fill multiple purposes beyond its stated use on a boat:- satisfy coast guard throwable requirement- diver down flag- fish float for spearfishing- recreational retriever, so swimmers who float too far from the boat can get back easily.- relaxation float, so when i want to float outside the boat i can float with zero effort just by holding onto the can.It seems durable and well made.Usually i use it without the weight and flag. I bought 18 inch UV stabilized zip ties for when i want to reattach the weight and flag.I looped in a 60-ft floating rope from a towable. that is how we usually use it.

I've been spearfishing my entire life and this is a great product that I've been using for over a year now. If you want a combination buoy and flag this is the way to go. Great for attaching a float line and getting away from the boat with the ability to shoot a larger fish without having to deal with a reel set up. Finally, I needed the customer service for something that was my fault and they were as good as it gets. Highly recommend.

Very happy with this purchase. This is the first time we took it out for snorkeling and scalloping. We were using the bouy in-between dives and it held us both hanging on to it at the same time. Easy to use. High visibility. Good quality and heavy duty. One thing I would mention to the seller is about the stick that holds the flag, is that it can easily fall out if not properly attached to the velcro while transporting. The flag is a legal size in Florida. Also, the water was calm so I cannot rate how the flag holds on a windy day. It’s worth the money and I would recommend it.

I really like this bouy alittle pricey but worth it . Looks sturdy and heavy duty. Have yet to test it in the ocean but once I do I’m sure it will be perfect. 🤙🤙
