(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This is my second Waykar humidifier - one for our basement and one for upstairs.  I was so happy with the first due to its effectiveness as well as its quiet operation, that I went back for a second unit.I am writing this review however, to share the positive experiences I've experienced with their service.  The second unit had been tussled during shipping and was not operating correctly out of the box.  I ordered it in the fall and did not learn of the problem until spring when the Bolo return period had expired.I reached out to Waykar and they offered to replace the unit but asked if I would be willing to open it and check the wiring first.  I agreed and they sent me detailed step by step texts and videos of how to open the unit and what to check for.  As it turned out some of the wiring was shaken loose during shipping.  Using the detailed video instruction and texts from Waykar, I was able to simply plug the internal wiring connection in correcting the issue.I really appreciated the level of effort they went to in order to achieve an immediate resolution and their willingness to replace the unit regardless.  Would definitely order again.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Several years ago I bought dehumidifier due to living in a place where humidity is often a battle. It has been reliable and never stops working when the hose is connected. I have a different dehumidifier that I run at the same time and I constantly have to check it because it quits working efficiently when the bucket is full, even with no issues with the connection hose. I appreciate the fact that his humidifier does not have those issues. It creates more work in an already busy schedule if I have to keep an eye on it. This product is so helpful that I bought a second one this year due to having difficulty with humidity again with the excessive rains we have experienced. I am thankful I bought a second one ahead of the heat dome that is to occur over the next two weeks.

TLDR; 5 star for features and general operation. minus half star for pump noise level.================This review is in regard to the version of the product with a pump. When dehumidifiers remove water from the air, you need to empty out the water and there are generally three ways to do this.1. Basin: The water is collected in a basin in the dehumidifier and you must remove and dump out the basin regularly.2. Drain: If your dehumidifier is in a location with a floor drain it can empty directly into the drain. The drain operates through gravity -- it must be below your dehumidifier.3. Pump: You can drain it 'uphill' into a sink that is above the level of the dehumidifier if your system has a pump that can send the water above the dehumidifier.This Bolo product listing has several different models. Only one of the models "150 pints with pump 7000 sq ft" has a pump. This review pertains to the pump model.=============================I have previously used a GE Humidifier with a pump ( https://www.Bolo.com/GE-Portable-Dehumidifier-Basement-Bathroom/dp/B0C6L8FDRC/?th=1 ) and my comments are relative to that system.In general I found the Waykar unit to be superior to the GE unit; and I would rate Waykar at 4.5 stars.DEHUMIDIFYING CAPACITYThe Waykar is among the highest capacity I have seen. Waykar rates its removal rate as up to 70 pints per day compared to 50 pints for the GE. I can't measure the difference, but I suspect it is real. These systems are supposed to turn on and off, similar to the way your A/C system is governed by its thermostat. However, the GE would run continuously. This is a sign to me that the GE didn't have the power to 'catch up' to its set humidity. The Waykar unit on the other hand works just like your air conditioner and it turns on for a while then rests for a while.Why does this matter? The fan noise on the GE never stops. The fan on both units is quiet. Again think of white noise like your A/C system. However, it is still nice to have quiet periods with no fan running.RESERVOIR EMPTIES WITH PUMPWhen using the Waykar the pump empties the water before it goes into the reservoir/basin. In contrast, the GE fills the basin and pumps when the basin is full. This means that the GE always has a tub full of standing water, which seems to me like a mold risk. I appreciate Waykar's aproach which always leaves a dry basin if you use the pump.OSCILLATING FANWaykar has a flap above the fan outlet. It has an option to pivot this flap automatically. This helps spread the treated air throughout the room.HUMIDITY LEVEL INDICATORThe Waykar has a humidity level display (eg, 41 for 41% humidity) on the front and top. Waykar's display is more responsive than the display on the GE. You can see the Waykar adjusting in real time. This give you an indication that the unit is actually working.NOISY PUMPThe one area where the Waykar falls short is its pump noise. When the pump is working it makes an irritating brrrrrp sound. The GE pump was silent and didn't have this problem.This is not overwhelming since the pump does not run all of the time. First, remember that the system 'rests' frequently with no noise. Second, under normal operation, the fan is quiet and the white noise of the system is minimal. However, periodically when it collects enough water the pump will turn on for 5 seconds to 30 seconds. During this time you hear the irritating pump noise.The pump may not be an issue if you use the system in a basement, utility area, or run it with the pump off. We use it in the living area and find it more annoying.SUMMARYI rate the unit 5 stars for its overall capabilities and operation. However, I subtract 1/2 star for the annoying pump noise. If you purchase one of the models without a pump, I suspect you will be satisfied.CUSTOMER SERVICE - 5 starsWhen I first found the problem, I reported it to the manufacturer's customer service. They were prompt and polite, but I didn't find their response useful. As a result, I posted my experience here with a poor rating. In response to my rating, the customer service reached out and quickly addressed my issue and they exchanged my unit. I 'think' the pump noise is a little better on the replacement unit, but it is still an issue. However, I have decided to keep it because of the other features -- I will just make sure I turn it off when I have company visiting me. For their attentive resolution I rate service at 5 stars.p.s. Why did I give 5 stars on service when I needed to escalate? There were exceptional circumstances. Normally, after the initial response. I would just have requested an exchange. However, the product was out of stock at Bolo and they only offered returns. Since I purchased on-sale a return and re-purchase would have cost me $75 extra. When the issue was escalated Waykar acted quickly to resolve the problem. They shipped me a replacement directly from their own stock and processed a return at no cost to me. I feel the customer service worked correctly and the extra step/escalation was only needed because of the stock out.

I purchased this unit as a replacement. I liked the large reservoir so I wouldn’t have to keep dumping it often and sometimes I use the convenient drain pipe. I did register it because that allowed me one more year of warranty. I did not expect to have an issue with this item, but but it after sitting for the winter, it did not perform as it did the year before. I contacted the company and the next day received a reply, asking me to do some testing to try to figure out what was wrong. It was it was determined that I did need a replacement. The company was willing to replace the unit for me. After just having an issue with an unrelated product and having to fight for a refund, this was a quite a pleasant, pleasant surprise. I appreciate companies that stand behind their products and are willing to listen to their customers concerns.

Excellent Dehumidifier for your Basement!!

The media could not be loaded. I would like to take a moment to provide a review on this dehumidifier from Waykar. It's an 80 pint that supports up to 5000 sq ft. of coverage.It runs at a very reasonable decibel rating which makes it comfortable to use in the room sitting in. The removal of the moisture from the air is excellent and within a 24 hour period or less we noticed a big difference in our basement.It certainly brings the humidity level to a safe and comfortable setting. We have a lot of MDF product in our basement that can get damaged if the humidity level us to high. Now with this dehumidifier I will not have to worry about this.Thanks Waykar for producing an excellent and product within a budget friendly environment. Very easy to set up and use.I needed to contact customer support for some ideas and they were quick to respond and provide me the answers to my questions.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a high quality dehumidifier.

Small tank, but might - Waykar 80 pint

Purchased for large heated garage to help control humidity/moisture. We have 2 other units that we are using, but they couldn't keep up. When we unboxed the unit, we were taken by surprise, the unit is smaller than the ones we currently had. Have been using it now for a couple of weeks, and it is proving to be 2xtimes more effective than our other units. Very happy with our purchase. We do wish it had a larger water collection bucket. For now we hooked up the external drain hose and use that.
