There are real smashed black beans, fantastically flavored and they aren't crammed in to the can as a solid hunk of molded bean dip. My local grocery store had this on sale once, so I bought a can. Loved it. Simple ingredients--beans, tomatoes, some chilies. It's only 35 calories per 2 TBSP and has zero sugar. Can't find it in the grocery store anymore, so have been buying it on Bolo. Great product.
