Yes it takes a while to put it on, but as you get used to it it takes less than a minute to get it on. It gives very great support for my ankle. I tore my ligament and cannot wear a boot due to work. This lets me put my foot into my shoes. With socks it is difficult to fit into a shoe, but it covers most of your foot except your toes, so it's pretty much like a sock so I don't wear a sock on the injured foot. Does not smell bad like other products that off gas. The only thing I can think of that is negative is if your ankle is severely injured, it may take a while to take off gently to not aggravate your ankle.

I purchased this brace to wear at night after fracturing my fibula. I wear a fracture walking boot during the day, but needed an appliance I could wear during the evening and through the night for stability. This is a very functional brace and it is comfortable, however, getting in and out of the boot is difficult since the foot needs to be maneuvered around to lace up and properly place the velcro straps. The laces have to be loosened a great deal in order to fit one's foot into the brace. I had to partially unlace the boot in order to slide my foot into the brace which was awkward and uncomfortable. The velcro straps need to wrap under the brace in order to place them properly on the side. It's an ordeal. Once the brace is on, it does stabilize the foot and it is comfortable. However, removing the brace is also an ordeal since one is repeating the process of putting it on. The laces practically have to be removed to comfortably remove the brace and slide it off the injured foot. This process can be painful. In retrospect, I would not have purchased this brace had I known how complicated it is to put on and take off. I'm still giving the brace a four star because it does support the ankle (and lower fibula) and it is comfortable once it's on. But this is not a brace I would recommend for someone with an ankle or low fibula break - it's just too awkward to use.

If you require a brace you can wear ALL DAY and for weeks or months, this should be the first and last style brace you ever purchase. A brace is not suitable for every situation, but I suspect for many people, this thing would be a miracle.Bluntly stated, I was pleasantly BLOWN AWAY at the quality, fitment, and support of these braces, after simultaneously suffering a minor break in one ankle and a moderate break in the other.The material is clearly above average. Padded and hemmed just right. No mystery scratchy spots or lumpy shapes. Even the eyelets and laces are QUALITY. I know because there were days when I snatched these things like an Olympian putting on competition ice skates, and no eyelets have torn, split, or popped, and none of the laces have broken, frayed, or lost their tips.I wore one on each ankle, inside of high top work boots, and was able to walk gingerly on day three after spending my first two days resting, icing, compressing, and elevating. (RICE is legit, people- trust the system!) Also, don't even ask me what the Ortho tried to charge me for a VASTLY inferior design of this same style brace. (Spoiler alert: it was PREPOSTEROUS)I wasn't entirely sure if these would be a good fit for me and I was in a pinch, so I also purchased two Aircasts at the same time after having relied on one a few times in the past, and now I wish I hadn't wasted the money on the Aircasts. Overpriced, bulky, surprisingly less support, just overall disappointing for my practical purposes.Long story short, I am super satisfied with this product. HIGHLY recommend.

The concept is good, and it is comfortable once on but it is extremely, and I really mean extremely difficult to put on. It is almost impossible to do this yourself. The straps have so much Velcro they stick to everything they touch. The laces have to be almost entirely undone to slip it on. Final adjustments are impossible. It does feel very comfortable once it is on but the effort to do this everyday will wear on you after a day or two so you wish maybe you should have bought another one that does not create so much frustration. I will be buying a different one as I cannot deal with this. You better be able to bend over or else don't buy this just move on. Very disappointed in how awkward and difficult this is to put on

I’m confused by this product as it has no laces.I reread all of the description and looked at the pictures and they are supposed to have laces. The one I received has just Velcro straps.We will try this one on and see the support it gives.
Amazing Product
Amazing support for my ankle/lower leg. Recovering from broken leg at the ankle.Brace provides so much support and so comfortable as well. Highly recommend.
