One set has pieces for gameplay by 1 or 2 players. The level of difficulty is determined by the throw of the dice. I think the game strategies can be understood by ages 5 and up, although younger players might become frustrated.The game boards and pieces are very well made, which is likely why the game is on the pricier side. If you want 3 or 4 people to be able to play, you'll need to buy two games.This game takes up so little space to play -- I think it would be a great game to play on airplane trays or in campers.

We saw this on road trip and I had to get this game when we got back home. It is one of my 8 year old son's favorite games and it also gives us some fun friendly family competition. The quality and value of this product is excellent. It makes a great gift for any age. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves to solve puzzles or building blocks.

My granddaughters (9, 13 & 15) introduced me to this game last Thanksgiving. It was challenging! My 10 year old grandson came to visit this summer so I bought a set for my house. Now he's addicted to it.

This game is so fun to play! I race with my fiancé to see who can finish first! We love it because it’s small enough to travel with , really pushes your brain for problem solving and is designed so it make it nice to look at! This game is worth the money for anyone who likes to solve puzzle’s.

Genus Squares is a fun and engaging game that adds just the right amount of challenge to keep things interesting. Whether you're a puzzle pro or just playing for fun, there's something about it that pulls everyone in. It sparks friendly competition and keeps people thinking, laughing, and having fun. While sometimes can be tricky to solve the puzzle that only adds to the excitement. They should have included an extra piece or two, in case something gets lost.

Very fun. Tetris style pieces... Teenagers in the family beat the adults almost every time... Of course you can play it by yourself against the clock as well... Highly recommended for problem solvers...

I won’t see it for months due to The Lurgy restrictions on flight and travel etc, and as the 6-year-old recipient isn’t on email, he won’t be able to tell you either, heheheh!

Received it a few minutes back! Tested it! Loved it! Can’t wait for my 6 year to play it after coming back from school. Only thing that annoyed me was the packaging! The game box was damaged. Luckily none of the pieces were missing. Attaching a pic. Not kidding! This is how I received it. Anyway loved the actual game!
Great game for all ages
We have played a ton, my kids are currently 5 & 11. To make it ‘even’ the younger play at junior level (pieces anywhere/any direction that fit around the pegs) and the older ones or adults have to play at higher levels eg. The white square blocks have the be face up and for those that seem really good at it not touching. Gives the little guys a chance to ‘win’ as well. Thus far we keep going to solve the puzzle even if the other person has finished first. It is interesting to see the differences in how it can be solved, often they are not the same.It is a challenge and all ages seem to like it. Can also be played individually as well like a puzzle which is great!!
Great cross generational game.
A brilliant game for all the family. easy to understand but then not always easy to master. We have had a lot of fun with this game.
