I have had to replace my coffee thermos every year due to discoloration and blackening. When I saw this item I had doubts, but hope in equal measures. It arrived yesterday and I tried it right away - this stuff was magic !! After 30 minutes of soaking my discolored thermos was clean as new!! I am going to keep a stock of this forever.

I have used Goo Gone Coffee maker cleaner for a number of years, it seems to be harder to find at a reasonable rate so I decided to look for something new. Came across the Bar Keepers Friend Coffee Maker cleaner and decided to give it a shot since a two pack is about the same as a one pack for many other brands. Amazing shipped over night, I was worried when I saw it shipped in a packing sleeve and not a box and the driver kind of tossed it on my steps; but both containers survived intact.A little heads up, you will need to read the instructions and be able to perform simple math. Such as use cold water when you are cleaning the whole coffee maker, and hot water if you are cleaning a stand along carafe. Also if your coffeemaker has a "cleaning mode" like mine you should use that because it takes more time to put the cleaner through the maker. Also, if you are cleaning a coffee maker with a carafe or pot, it recommends you let it sit in the pot for 30 minutes after you run it through the coffee maker. After following the instructions using 7 oz of cleaner in my 42 oz water reservoir I had really good results. The "water" in the pot after the process was a very rich coffee color and it had removed all of the stains from my pot and I assume most of the build-up from within the machine itself. The instructions recommended that you run a cycle of fresh water through the brewing process after the cleaning cycle. When I did that I added a coffee filter in the basket and after that cycle completed I was surprised to see a lot of remnants and mineral deposits captured in the filter afterwards. Because of that I ran a second pot of water through the machine and the filter was clean that time.Overall I think it works well on my system. Everyone may not have the same results. I do think you need to make sure you have the correct measurement of cleaner to water (1oz cleaner to 8oz of water ), I also think using the right water temp for the type of cleaning is important, and make sure to mix the cleaner and water before putting it in the system. For now this is my new coffee maker cleaner of choice.

This stuff worked pretty well on my stainless travel mug, but it took two applications and a bit of scrubbing.

I've done the vinegar and salt and scrubbing with bottle brushes thing for years. I've soaked overnight, tried using newsprint as if cleaning a window--it all worked eventually but it was a time consuming nuisance.This stuff works like magic. It does as promised. It was even able to clean up a protein shaker I'd given up on ever getting some stuck on protein shake stains out of. They were like lumps of dried superglue and this got them to break up with an overnight soak.

Great product! I have tried baking soda, vinegar and Bon Ami cleanser to clean the inside of my coffee carafe but these did not do as great of a job as Barkeepers Friend! I am posting before and after pictures so you can see the difference after 30 minutes of soaking. No scrubbing required.

I have a 22 oz YETI, stainless steel coffee mug I have had for many years. I use it every day to drink black coffee. The inside of this mug was literally black from the staining it has been used so much. I tried once soaking it in white vinegar, but that didn't touch the staining, it was so bad. I found this and thought I'd give it a shot. I followed the instructions on how to clean a stainless steel travel mug. While you are only supposed to soak it for 30 minutes, I ended up soaking mine for a couple of hours because I fell asleep for a while. When I went to pour it out, the water was so dark it looked like I was pouring out a cup of coffee, however the inside was still black. So, I got a kitchen towel and started wiping down the inside of the mug, the towel was literally black. So I switched and got a wet paper towel and began to clean it. The paper towel came out black. But the inside of the mug was beginning to come clean. After going through a number of wet paper towels, the inside of my mug was finally clean and shiny again on the inside, except for a few spots that I don't think my hand could reach very well, like at the very bottom, there was still somewhat of a ring around the very bottom groove of the cup. But I give this stuff 5 stars because it got a black stained mug silver again. From now on, I am going to use it once a month to keep my mug clean. But I definitely recommend because this stuff works.

The product work extremely well and cleaned heavily stained coffee pot.I could not find this in local stores, so could not check on pricing, but Bolo delivered next day
Interior of stainless steel pot looked like new
Even though this is designed to clean the whole coffee maker, I only used it on the pot. Letting the water mixed with the appropriate amount of cleaning solution sit in the pot for about an hour was enough to remove all the stubborn coffee stains in the pot. I did use a round sponge scrubber on an long handle to reach all the areas of the interior because it was not possible to reach in with my hand. Overall, I was very happy with the final result.

Cleaned my coffee pot SO well!
I was surprised how amazingly this worked! My pot somehow got very stained and nothing would clean it. I was worried I'd have to replace it and got this as a last try. It made it so shiny that I had to polish the rest of my coffee maker! It all looks so great now!
