5.0 out of 5 stars For When Your Doodles Deserve a Little Extra “Pop”
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Okay, let’s talk about these SAKURA - Gelly Basic White Gel Pens. Whether you’re signing a fancy card, journaling about your deepest thoughts, or just doodling like a professional daydreamer, these little white wonders are here to make sure your ink stands out in the best way possible. It’s like the secret weapon for all your writing and artistic needs, giving your projects that extra “wow” factor, without breaking a sweat.Pros:• Opaque White Ink: First off, the ink is impressively opaque. It’s not like the white-out you used in school (remember the fumes? Yikes!). This ink shows up bold and bright on both dark and light paper. You’ll see crisp lines, no matter if you’re writing on black cardstock or scribbling over your last-minute to-do list in a notebook. It’s like the mic drop of gel pens.• Smooth Writing: These pens glide across the page like they’re on roller skates, giving you that satisfying feeling as you write. No clumping, no smearing, just smooth, creamy gel ink that feels like it’s working with you, not against you. Who knew writing could be this satisfying? It’s like ASMR for your hands.• Versatile Uses: Whether you’re into scrapbooking, bullet journaling, or just want to jazz up your doodles with a little pizzazz, these pens will be your new best friend. Need to add highlights to your doodles or make your invitations pop? These pens got you. Plus, they can even work well on dark surfaces, which is like having a superpower in the pen world.• Three-Pen Set: If you’re like me and lose pens faster than you can buy them, this 3-pack gives you a little cushion before your panic sets in. You can either use them all up or, you know, hoard them in a drawer for that “just in case” scenario.Cons:• Can Get Clumpy if Left Unused for Too Long: Let’s be real, every pen has its quirks, and these aren’t immune. If you leave these babies lying around unused for too long, you might find them getting a bit clumpy. But don’t worry! A little scribble action and they’re back to full-on smooth mode. Just keep the cap on tight!• Not a Super-Heavy Duty Pen: If you’re trying to write on super-textured surfaces or really thick paper, these might not be your best bet. These pens love smooth, standard paper, so if you’re working with something wild, don’t be surprised if they need a bit of encouragement.• White Ink May Take a Minute to Dry: White ink is a bit slow on the drying front. If you’re impatient and tend to drag your hand across the page while writing, you might end up smearing it like a true artist… or, you know, a person who really likes to mess things up.Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a gel pen that goes above and beyond your standard ink experience, the SAKURA - Gelly Basic White Gel Pens are your new best friends. They write smooth, bold, and bright, and they’ll make everything you create look just a little more magical. Sure, they can be a little temperamental, but hey...what’s life without a little challenge? Plus, they’re a great excuse to break out your artistic side and start doodling like you’re Picasso, but with better hand cramps.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works well enough for me
I got these pens mainly for the purpose of adding highlights on drawings. I'm trying to go back to traditional.. I was never good at blending with coloured pencils or markers so it's not good looking but that's not the point. The pens did the job of adding some highlights to his black leather parts of his outfit and hair. I usually don't use white for hair highlights but I felt it would look okay. The pens worked well over the markers and even came out decent over coloured pencil! I didnt pay attention to if it smears or smudges, being white ink, I probably wouldn't have noticed the smearing/smudging anyways. But I don't think it smeared? I felt like it actually dried pretty quickly. As for the price, I think it's decent and worth it. It's a 3 pack with 3 different sizes (is that the word? Size seems incorrect? Width of the ink? I dunno anyways). You pay what, 2 bucks extra compared to the price of a single Sakura white pen, so yeah worth the price for 3. For the pics I used the 1.0 one. I used it for both the coloured pencil version of his hair and marker version. The pen was easy to use, didn't need to shake it or anything. Glides relatively smoothly as well. So all on all, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I've always wanted white pens, and now that I got them I'll try and use them more often.
5.0 out of 5 stars **Must-Have White Pens for Bold & Beautiful Crafting!**
This pack of three white opaque pens is a game-changer for crafting—especially on black cardstock! The varying tip thicknesses provide incredible versatility, allowing for fine details, bold highlights, and smooth, consistent strokes. The ink is richly pigmented and truly opaque, meaning it stands out beautifully without fading or skipping. Whether I’m adding delicate accents, intricate lettering, or bold designs, these pens deliver crisp, stunning results every time. They glide effortlessly across the paper, drying quickly with minimal smudging, making them perfect for precision work. A must-have for any crafter looking for reliable, high-quality white ink!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for adding highlights and details to coloring
Essential for adding details and highlights to coloring pages. My only gripe is that it can tend to leave a small glob at the start and end of a stroke, but you can learn to compensate for it. Also the finest pen in this is is so fine (how fine is it?), that's essentially useless for all practical purposes. but the other two are great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great pens for highlights on artwork!
I love these so much, they work great for highlights on drawings. I love to draw with charcoal and graphite, and these pens are amazing for making little highlights pop! They draw on top of the charcoal and graphite pretty nicely. The different sizes are also great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Old reliable.
(Picture is zoomed in on a spot where I used the gel pens on a drawing to imitate shiny, sheer fabric.)I've used these gel pens for years and only just recently had to buy some new ones once my old ones dried up.I love using these for small white highlights in art or lettering on darker paper. The white gel comes out easily, it's not shy. The varying sizes helps get a lot of detail. In my opinion, they're just as good as paint if not better. Paint pens could likely do about the same, but these are just so convenient to use and you get a lot more control as to where the color goes. Also, it does decently well at hiding ink mistakes. Sometimes it takes a couple layers. Also, make sure that the ink is dry before you try to put gel over it or it'll blend together and leave a bigger colored splotch than before (learned the hard way).
3.0 out of 5 stars meh.
these pens are not worth the hype. i love my alcohol markers and my favorite part is highlighting with a good white gel pen at the end but this brand is not it. for as many tiktok’s i saw using these i thought they’d be the best thing since sliced bread. they are not. they do the job kind of. even on dry alcohol the white can stain to a lighter color that is underneath it instead of staying a vibrant white. not my fav by a long shot
Muy buenos rotuladores
