When a camera went out previously, I paid the person who installed it $250 to replace it. I felt like I was way overcharged. I am a handy person, so I researched what camera I would need and decided to purchase this one. It was not that difficult to install and this camera has a bit sharper picture. Great for the price.

First off, I've installed quite a few security camera systems, and I can say with certainty that this is hands-down the best CCTV camera you'll find in this price range.PROS:-Large 0.37" CMOS sensor. Most cameras in this price range have a 1/4" or 1/3" sensor. This one is slightly larger th an 1/3" which allows for better color and better low-light sensitivity.-Vari-focal lens. This allows you to set both the zoom and the focus, as opposed to them both being fixed (usually at 3.6mm and a fairly narrow field of view). These are both manual adjustments and easy to get at even after the camera is installed (it also comes with a small tool for adjusting the pots, though a small flat-head screwdriver works fine as well). At its max, field of view appears to be just over 90 degrees.-4 output formats to choose from. While this is now standard on many cameras, this is the first camera I've tried where my DVR actually had no issues whatsoever decoding any of the 4 outputs. Easily selected by setting 2 dip switches. One is low resolution 960H, and the other 3 are 1080p, both digital and analog formats. Should be compatible with just about any DVR out there.-Build quality. VERY HEAVY DUTY. This thing has some weight. I suppose this could be a con if you want to install this on a ceiling tile with nothing supporting it from above, but that aside, consider me impressed.-Picture quality. Very sharp picture. Pretty good contrast ratio as well.-Easy installation and adjustment. The camera unscrews off the base fairly easily; the base is easy to mount (had 4 screw holes), and it goes back together easy as well and was very easy to move and get the exact angle and orientation I wanted. A novice should have no problem installing this camera.CONS:-Only con really is with the instruction manual. It makes reference to various internal camera settings driven by a menu which I was unable to figure out how to access. It also is useless for explaining how to install or make adjustments. Nevertheless, it should be pretty self-explanatory without the manual.OVERALL:Outperforms cameras that are twice the price. I like everything about it and this is now my go-to camera for hard-wired camera installations.

Once you set the dip switches correct it's working! Zoom & Focus preset was good from factory. Installing is tricky depending on the angle from the mounting bracket? I mounted the bracket horizontally & camera angle about 100 degrees, but the wire harness only has 1 of 4 slots to fall into? If there is no slot at that spot you have to move the mounting bracket so you can complete the installation? It has a nice day time color picture but night picture looks like winter. Good wide angle lens & worth the price!

Replaced a Swann SWPRO-1080ZLD camera, when I couldn't find another one, except used online for 4 times the price. This camera does everything it replaced and is easier to manually adjust due to it not using tiny Allen head screws that the Swann camera has. Picture quality is the same for daytime, nighttime looks the same when compared side-by-side with another Swann SWPRO-1080ZLD camera. Nighttime zoom & focus adjustments were made to avoid pointing the new camera into building lights. As you know all security cameras perform poorly, when too much outside light is seen by a camera. I will order a couple of spare cameras to have, until the time I totally replace the older Swann DVR-84000H system with new technology.

This is the second one I bought, I like the wide angle 100 degree and the night vision has consistent lighting unlike all my other cameras that leave a spot of light in the middle.It can be a little frustrating to adjust the Zoom and Focus; I had to adjust both to get the focus I wanted when i used it zoomed all the way in. Installation was also frustrating, the pain on the threaded ring interferes with threading and unthreading it. Managing the ball during the ring mounting can be challenging. Once mounted and focused it met my expectations.

Not great. I guess you get what you pay for. Ordered 3 of these to replace some old security cameras. One that I had replaced stopped working 2 days ago. I still had one of the 3 that I hadn’t installed so I replaced the bad one with it. Working fine. Just hope it lasts longer than 4 months.

It replaces a similar looking SD camera I installed 10 years ago. Picture quality is good, particularly in the dark.

Received defective... Test before installing

The one I got did not switch to day colour mode and is stuck in B&W mode, although I can head the IR filter click sound with light change. Have to go through the trouble of returning and finding another one... I'm also not sure if I'm a fan of the manual adjustments for focus, maybe ok, but don't want to be doing this on the ladder...
