I was looking for a basic hoop to use to build some skill before I jump into using a weighted hoop for exercise. This seemed to fit all the critera for what I was looking for so I ordered it. Got it the other day, assembled it, and turns out it's too small despite reviews and descriptions saying it should be big enough. Yes, it fits me, but it's not big enough to keep up the momentum; I get about a spin and a half before it falls to the floor. So, if you have a waist size bigger than 35"... don't listen to the other reviews this isn't is. I will be returning.As far as assembly goes... it's simple enough. You don't need instructions and it's self explanatory. HOWEVER.... it does take some strength to get the pieces to all fit together as they should. But given the thickness of the material and how snugly it all fits together, I would say that this would hold up reasonably well and be pretty durable for a kid's rough-and-tumble play.

Very poor quality. Returned immediately because it was wonky just trying to put together. I strongly recomment a traditional hoola hoop -- 1 piece!
