First let me introduce myself. I am now retired but I was a watchmaker/jeweler for over 40 years. When I started in the business all watches were either the manual wind-up type or automatic wind. I spent years repairing and disassembling and cleaning those watches as well as as 100 year old pocket watches and I saw the whole range of quality of watches. I was there when the first tuning fork and then quartz watches were introduced. I saw some watches that were good quality movements but lousy quality cases. It was quite common to see the chrome plated cases corrode away until they leaked and irritated the wearer's skin and had to be replaced because there was nothing that could be done. Broken stems and crystals was the most common repairs. Accuracy was +/- 1 minute per day. Watchbands needed replaced annually.Now let me tell you what you are getting in this watch for a mere $60.00 (unbelievably low price):This entire case and bracelet is made of stainless steel (no corrosion in 100 years).The crystal is a hardened mineral glass (nearly impossible to scratch and hard to break without using a hammer).The crown is a screw down which completely protects the stem from breakage and nearly guarantees the seal against moisture from getting in, even while swimming or shallow water scuba diving. I see many other reviews complaining about this watch leaking moisture. I will bet the price of the watch that all of those instances are because the wearer DID NOT have the crown screwed down after setting the time. This would not only leave it open to leaking but also leave it vulnerable to breaking the stem. That would be like leaving your windows open and then complaining when it rains and your window sill gets wet. This is not the way it was designed and would be a fault of the wearer, not the watch. So if you buy this watch expect to have to take a little extra time and care when resetting the time or date. I specifically chose this watch because it has the screw-down crown because I know that provides added protection when handled properly.The back of the watch case screws on rather than a snap on that is quite common. This further protects the internal mechanism from moisture and dirt.The date has a magnifier lens over it to enhance the readability.The dial is very easy to read and this is coming from a guy who needs reading glasses for nearly anything close up. The all stainless steel bracelet is a solid link with a double locking clasp that is easy to unlock when you want to do so.The quartz movement is a fairly common Japanese made Miyota movement that will usually keep accurate time within 30 seconds a month. These movements either work or they don't with no required maintenance except for replacing a battery every few years. The failure rate of these movements is nearly 0 percent.Now I will explain the very few negatives:If you are not lucky enough for the bracelet to fit you right out of the box you will probably have to go to a jeweler to have it adjusted. I had all the necessary tools but could not have done it without them. There is a very small adjustment built in that can be done with just a straight pin and allows some fine tuning (about 1/4 inch) but the removal of links is much more involved so expect to pay for that (but it's worth it!). The difficulty in adjusting it is a result of the sturdiness of the construction and will pay off in the long run because it will never just fall apart as is common in flimsier watch bands.Although I selected this one because it had the screw down crown many people won't like that feature. When setting the time or changing the date you must unscrew the crown and let it pop up to release. When finished setting it you must carefully press and screw it down again to protect it as explained above. If not done properly there is potential here for cross threading which will be fatal. Keep in mind that because of the watches extreme accuracy and the fact that there are on 6 "short" months a year that require correction this screw down crown inconvenience is a very minor thing.The price is unbelievable. 50 years ago I sold much less of a watch for $150 and that was in 1970 dollars. By those standards this watch should sell for at least $300 today! If this is to be given as a gift I will assure you that the packaging is superb and very classy.If you are looking for a good looking and super durable watch at a reasonable price do not pass this one up! Take it from and expert, this one is GREAT!

This watch is one of the best watches to add to a collection. It really does resemble a Rolex and is a super classy time piece. First off for all you big men (I stand 6'5" and go 280) it fit me right out of the very nice packaging. For you smaller men you may need to remove a few links. The date is magnified and that I makes it easier to to see. It is also waterproof (had no problems with that yet). For around $60.00 you can't beat the Swiss quality for the price. Plan on purchasing more Stuhrling products.

Nice packaging and a beautiful looking diver watch. Very comparable to my $200 Bulova Marine Star watch, but only $59. A bit thicker than my Bulova. Looks substantial. The bezel on top is difficult to turn but this watch is not meant for scuba diving so it won't be needed, anyway. With watches in this price range, the true barometer of value is how long it lasts. If I get three years out of it I'll be happy and quite willing to buy another one.

I was skeptical when I purchased this. How could a watch that looks this good cost under $50? I looked for the catch, but happily there was none. The packaging, the build quality, the crystal, the accuracy, the weight - everything is top tier. It could pass for a Rolex Submariner. I've owned it for a year now, and I get compliments every time I wear it. Buy it! You'll be glad you did!

There are three positives to this watch:1. It's inexpensive2. The face is visible in most lighting3. It is reasonably accurateThe negatives are, alas, more notable:1. It is cheaply made. Seconds hand and rotating bezel don't like up with minute marks2. Waterproof to 330', but don't wear it scuba diving--or in the shower?3. The case is not well finished. Edges on the back are uncomfortably sharp4. The band, while crudely made, seems to be stainless steel, but the case is not! It is chrome plated pot metal. In the month I've worn it, the case is already showing signs of corrosion It is unlikely to survive the life of the original battery.Given the wide range of ratings in reviews, I suspect there is little/no quality control on these watches. I highly recommend a Seiko, Citizen, or Casio as a better choice.

The item was shipped in a timely manner based on my location which is outside of US mainland. The product seems of high quality material and is distinct of those brands which are made in China, although I'm not pretty sure if this particular brand is labor-dependent in China. Lastly, I love it because of value for money.
