I bought this set of 3" disks to use on truck headlights. The lights were in very bad shape, (took about 10hrs to sand both), so having the 400 grit was a good starting point. By the time I'd gotten to the 10000 grit, they were looking almost as good as new. A bit of polishing compound on one of the soft disks finished them off well.I had no problems with the kit at all. There was no problem with the paper separating (the paper was kept wet throughout all sanding), the disks stayed attached to the backing pad and the pad itself didn't show any signs of wear.I'd recommend these, and would buy again.

I needed better and more fine grit paper to polish rocks after I collect them. I use a Ryobi 3" cordless polisher/sander and theses pads are perfect so far. Each pad gets pretty great life. The set came with more then expected accessories like the foam buffers to reduce heat and work the corners. Over all I give it 5 stars easy and I absolutely recommend this product especially if you are a fellow rock hound looking to making some of the treasures we find shine. That way the world can see it how we do

I used for headlight restoration. They tend to load up quickly from heat and lens material and benefit from wet sanding.Side note not product related:If you get a run in the clear topcoat, wipe it off and start over before letting the clear coat dry. The clear coat really loads up any grit of sandpaper when it heats from sanding.

I was excited to find something inexpensive to place on my drill to avoid having to pay 500 to 3000 dollars for a cabbing machine for my rockhounding hobby. Silicon Carbide is supposed to have a MOHS hardness of 9. I was standing sunstone 400 grit. I tried wet and i tried dry. In both cases the sand paper lost its ability after 30 seconds. So to me this product is either poorly made, or not really Silicon Carbide. I ended up having to use my sand paper meant for my orbital sander. But I need to buy a finer grit. I think that my orbital sandpaper is made of Aluminum Oxide. Just to note my sunstone was already smooth. I have a lack of confidence that the other grits are what they claim to be on the back.Chalcedony MOHS 7 (Jasper, Agate), Quartz MOHS 7, Topaz MOHS 8, Labradorite MOHS up to 7.2 (moonstone, sunstone), Peridot MOHS 7, Garnet MOHS 7.5 to 8.5, Opal at best is 6.5 MOHS.Maybe others have had better experiences, mine was a disappointment. I left 3 stars, 1 for price, 2 for adapter for drill, and the 3rd star because the sandpaper can still be used for wood and other soft material(plastic). I didn't leave 5 stars because of possible false advertising, and the 4th star is gone because of poor quality in my opinion.

This kit helped finish the job where the headlight kits (by Rustoleum and Turtle Wax) were too light in duty to complete the job.

Just what I needed. Sands out scratches in liquid glass coating and then buffed them to perfection. Can't see where the defects were. All glossy as if perfect from the start.

I ordered this to restore my headlights on my car. They held up great. I wet sanded as well as dry sanded. No problems with pads. I used most of the pack since I wanted perfection on my headlights. Good value here. Much cheaper than new headlights. I highly recommend these.
great for sharpening carving tools
These have finally given me a great system for sharpening for not much cost. I put my cordless drill in a vice and on low setting (400 rpm) and with the hook and loop discs, it's quick to cycle through 4-5 grits and sharpen my woodcarving chisels. Also add a bit of polishing compound to the finest grit. The discs seem fairly durable and they are very easy to swap out. I start around 180-240 and work up to 1000 and got a great edge.
Good value for the money
Great assortment, interface pads are a great addition, but the backing plate is cheap and very wobbly (far from "ideal" when precision sanding or attempting automotive paint correction); you may want to invest in a quality backing plate... Nevertheless, this is a great value, and a very decent kit for the money.
Worked for what I got them for
Got this to restore headlights and they work very well at least of the grits that I have used. I’ve only used 5 different grits so far but these did the trick and the lights that I cleaned up went from hardly shining light 20 feet to like new and crystal clear.
worked great on cordless drill
Used them on motorbike headlight, worked good after i learned to use the foam pads you put under the sand paper.

I bought these to polish my clear coat on my car, they work well with my hook and loop air polisher and also comes with a drill adapter. great assortment of grits and pads
