They work really well for up-potting tomatoes. I try to bury my tomatoes up to their necks so they develop a good root system, and this works like a charm. They're actually fairly stable standing up, too...a lot more so than I expected tbh.

Tough little bags. I use them to grow out Austree willow & hybrid poplar cuttings. I bought the largest size. Roll the top down about 1.5", then again 1.5" to give myself a firm top edge. Fill with soil, stick my finger down for enough to make room for the lower half of the cuttings, gently insert cutting in hold created by finger, press the soil gently around the emerging roots (while being careful not to bump the leaf nodes loose), then sit the 'planters' upright, side by side, in a plastic tote or other plastic tray with 3-4" sides. Water daily, keep the cuttings in filtered sunlight, and have new trees to plant in very short order!!! Really like these bags, they're less expensive than the 4"wide x 9+" tall tree seedling pots. They do the job for less money, and use less plastic as well. Ordered 100 ten days ago, just ordered another 100 today. Have a lot of hybrid willow and poplar cuttings coming in, need to put up a number of windbreaks on our Texas acreage.

I'm using these for oak saplings and various cuttings (fig, mulberry, blueberry, etc.). They work well, specially for tree sprouts and saplings to allow for a full years growth without need for transplant. At that point, I typically pick the keepers and look to move the rest as gifts and small sales to neighbors. The longer size is great to roll down the edges a bit and allow for better grip. I do wish the drain holes were smaller, but my potting mix hasn't been much of an issue. As with most of these soft plastic pots, they aren't very stable until there's a good amount of soil to give them shape. With these being so tall, you'll also need a box, crate, or tray to add a bit more support. Also helps to keep them grouped together. Overall solid buy for anything with long tap roots or for rooting cuttings.

I used these to hold Hydrangea cuttings. They are super sturdy and held the fir bark with no problem. They also drain well so no worrying about standing water. I ripped on open and took a picture so you can see how well it worked for root development. I use these every year and will continue to use them. Super cheap and dependable.
