5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money, especially for beginner/hobbyist use

I bought this tablet to use with my laptop, to allow me to do art for fun in my free time, while lounging on the couch. This is my first budget art tablet, and I really didn't know what to expect. I have now used it for a few hours for vector art in CorelDraw and to paint in Painter, and over all, I've found it to be very usable. I would definitely buy it again, knowing what I know now.PROS:- Small and easy to use while hanging out on my couch, drawing for fun;- Rubber pads on back of tablet add traction, so it can be used on an inclined surface;- Color rendering of this screen is good. Absolutely no complaints. If your art is primarily intended to be viewed on screens, you'll be happy with the results. I don't have a color calibration tool, so take this with a grain of salt.- Worked exactly as described, even before I installed the Gaomon driver (I had Wacom driver installed already, and it didn't seem to interfere with Gaomon functioning). Once I had the driver, I was able to customize the pen and shortcut buttons.- Appears durable and well-built. I've been using it as a secondary monitor next to my laptop daily, and drew on it for a few hours over the past two weeks, and didn't notice any issues. Buttons feel solid, there are no dead pixels, and the tablet as a whole feels solid as well. I haven't tried sitting on it, but normal stresses of carrying it under my arm together with my laptop haven't resulted in any damage. The stylus didn't leave any marks on the glass either. I can see this tablet lasting for a few years.- Super-affordable. I bought this tablet from Bolo Warehouse and paid 99 bucks for it. At that price point, this tablet offers excellent value. Even at full list price, it only costs as much as a few pads of high-quality drawing paper, and less than a set of 72 Copic markers.CONS:- Stiff cables, and too many of them for the year 2022. The tablet has two cables that connect to your computer: an HDMI and a USB-A. Especially the HDMI one is very stiff and makes it difficult to move either the laptop or the tablet without tugging on the cables and moving the other device. If used on a desk, that's probably not a huge issue, but for my use case, it's a noticeable inconvenience.- Cable the third is for the power supply and it's not separate from the data ones, but rather is part of a wire harness with the other two, coming off the end that's closest to the laptop, so this limits where you can plug it into an outlet. Again, not a huge gripe, and I have used a small extension cable to get the power to the tablet, so easy to work around.- In 2015, this would have been fine, but in 2022, all of the data and power needs of this tablet can be served with a single USB-C cable, which can be much more flexible, and also easily replaceable. The power/data wire harness that the tablet comes with isn't easily replaced, because there is no independent power input on the device, only mini-HDMI and USB-C. Given my use case, I just have to be extra-cautious when using the tablet on the couch, with the laptop off to one side.- Relatively small screen to work on. On one hand, great form factor for doodling in my free time, but I couldn't use it for work full-time. YMMV of course.- Noticeable parallax (the perceived difference between where you have the tip of your pen and where the cursor actually appears on-screen). In the middle of the screen it's mostly fine, but the issue becomes more and more pronounced as you move towards the edges of the screen, to the point where I routinely miss the scroll bars when I try to move the drawing I'm working on (up-down or left-right). I have calibrated the screen, but the fundamental issue is that the glass between the LCD display and the tip of the pen has thickness, and it becomes more noticeable as the pen moves farther away from the point directly in front of your eyes.To say it in a different way: On this tablet, the cursor is always precisely under the tip of the pen if you look at it straight from the top, but as you draw, you move your hand all over the surface of the tablet, and as you're looking at it a bit more from the side, you can see more and more of that glass separating your stylus from the image on the screen, making it *look* as if the cursor position was off, and it's distracting. Wacom does some magic to compensate for that (but it's not a fair comparison at 10x the price difference), and that's why for my full-time work I'm sticking with them. For relaxed doodling, this isn't a problem, and I'm absolutely happy with the tablet. It's also possible that if I used this tablet for more hours daily, I'd get used to the parallax. Either way, not a deal-breaker.To reiterate: I would totally buy this tablet again, and I'm happy with the purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars GAOMON Tablet | Great starter tablet!
I’m honestly impressed with this Gaomon screen tablet! For the price, it delivers way more than expected. It’s a screen tablet, so you can see exactly what you're drawing, which makes the whole experience much more intuitive—especially if you're transitioning from a non-screen tablet.Keep in mind, it’s not Bluetooth, so you’ll need to use the included cables to connect it to your computer. But once everything is plugged in and set up, it runs beautifully.IMPORTANT: Make sure to install the correct drivers from Gaomon’s website that match your model. This step is crucial—once the drivers are installed, the tablet works like a dream. I've used it with both Krita and Clip Studio Paint, and the responsiveness and pressure sensitivity are fantastic.Overall, this is an amazing value for artists on a budget or anyone wanting a solid, reliable drawing experience without spending a fortune.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but the team is better
Before I start this review if you have any issues with a GAOMON product, go to their website and email them through the support dropdown, After-sales. Trust me, if it is a bad problem like mine, your problem will be resolved. Their Tech Support is really good. I had an issue with my original tablet where it wouldn't even turn on half the time. I pretty much had a 1/4 chance of the tablet working. It was a very unique defect because when I did research online about it, nothing was brought up. However, when I emailed them back and showed them a recording of my issue, they just sent me a new tablet. I mean I had to wait for it and show evidence about the problem, but it's better than me sending back the tablet, waiting for them to receive the tablet, once they receive the tablet, they can start troubleshooting and analyzing the problem, once they fix it, they send have to the tablet back, the tablet gets lost in Bolo shipping, and it's a whole fiasco. I don't have to play ping pong for my stuff to work. Gaomon more like, "Hey, we see you have an issue, if there is a solution that we know off, we'll tell you what you need to do to resolve your issue, but if there isn't, we going to help you get a new one new one with no flaws." 11/10 customer service because what more would you want. Now on to the actual product itself (BTW: This was on a pretty decent modern computer if I do say so myself.) :Cons:1. A lot of people have already said this, but I will say it too, make sure you have an HDMI port. I didn't have to suffer this issue because my computer has a pretty good graphics card. But, if you buy this for a laptop, make sure you have an HDMI port because you might end up buying an adapter if you don't. The reason why I say this is because I plan on using this for both my PC and my laptop, which both have an HDMI port.2. This tablet does not have an integrated battery, but a power adapter. The power adapter is pretty bulky so you would need some space when plugging it in. I had to move some wires around, but it is around spring cleaning. I needed to clean up anyway, lol. This is an issue because if you are using an already filled-up power strip, as I am, you might have to reorientate and organize your plugs.3. Calibration is a bit off. I needed to mount my tablet's monitor to my other monitor for the calibration to be correct, default settings. Though, I will say that the calibration for my laptop is okay. I will say it is still a bit off, but it is not as bad as my PC. Though I am assuming this is a problem with my PC/drivers and not the product itself. Calibration is on the software side, not the hardware side. So if you want to go in-depth and get the most accurate calibrations, either tinker around with the default drivers or test around and do some research on tablet drivers. I have a pretty good calibration set-up only using the default settings.Note: I am a left-handed hobbyist. I draw for fun, and I'm not good at it, lol. Because I needed to mount the tablet's monitor to my monitor, I have 2 monitors, using left-handed mode is pretty much impossible for this set-up. Because I would then flip my screen's orientation, my monitor's screen orientation, I would pretty much have my main monitor and my secondary monitor that is flipped upside down. Obviously, I don't want an upsidedown monitor. But, this is not an issue if I used the tablet's inbuilt screen. If I really wanted to, I could set it up so that I can do left-handed mode with the tablet's in-built screen, but I'm lazy. So, this only applies if you are left-handed, and you are too lazy to do the calibration on the in-built screen, like me. Or is left-handed and is serious about drawing. You draw in small, but you see your result on the bigger screen. But to be honest, the majority of things are made to be right-handed, heck even the glove that is included is right-hand orientated. Exception for the tablet, who really cares? Just flip the glove over, lol.Pros:1. Screen is smooth. It ain't butter, but it's more like "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!" You know it ain't buttery smooth, but it is close enough. Unless your eyes are trained in the mountains to see the minute differences between hertz on a computer monitor, you not gonna see the difference. I mean there is some stutter, but it ain't as bad as a computer with a low CPU, and RAM installed into it. So low to the point where you might as well just install Windows 1998 or Unix on it because anything higher would make it explode like Minecraft on RTX. The screen is large and the stutters aren't even common, there like once in a blue moon. I mean you might see it once in a while, but that's with all tablets and monitors.2. It is pretty portable. Now, we are not talking about the tablet being so portable to the point where you are able to put it in a purse and call it a day, except I did see some pretty big purses that I would want to buy on Bolo, but it is portable. If you have a pretty decent backpack or anything that has a good dimension and volume, you'll be okay. The wires are pretty long, but there is a velcro strap that you can tie it up with. There is also a thing about the power adapter. The power adapter is broken into two parts, so you are able to assemble and disassemble them anywhere you would like, obviously when it is plugged out and NOT plugged in. Please do NOT attempt to disassemble it when it is plugged in. You're buying this tablet for the screen, size, buttons, and useability, so please keep that in mind.3. It doesn't have an integrated battery. Now, the reason why I say that this is a pro is that this also includes the pen. Why do I need to charge the pen to use the tablet? This is the reason why it is a huge plus. It also means that I don't need to pay for a replacement battery if I overuse the tablet either. It is the same logic as a laptop. Sure, your laptop is portable, but there is a chance of the battery going bad if you constantly charge it to full. If you consistently charge your batteries to full, you might actually kill your batteries in the long run. This applies to anything that uses a battery. Once your battery dies, either you just don't use that device anymore, or you buy a new battery replacement. This is the reason why I put this in a pro, I don't need to buy a replacement for a battery. If it breaks, it breaks. And I don't think it's going to meltdown anytime soon.4. The pen and the button are pretty responsive. I mean you need the pen to get close to the tablet for the buttons on the pen to work, but it's okay. You are able to see custom hotkeys, it's all good.
5.0 out of 5 stars Makes drawing and digitizing so much easier!
Well made well sized drawing monitor that I use with all my graphics and digitizing software…in fact, I also use it to mark up Word and other MS Office files. I love that the surface feels like paper and the pen doesn’t require charging. I bought this in 2020 and it’s still going strong! The only thing you should be aware of is that if you are using it to draw, it is sensitive to which USB it is plugged into. You can use like a regular monitor if the USB isn’t plugged into. I’ve been so happy with this I’ve bought another for my son…back in 2021…it’s still going strong too!
Just because it's not $2700 doesn't mean it's just for beginners
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I purchased this after watching a few video reviews on Youtube and decided to give it a shot. I stand by my 5-star rating but there are some tiny litle caveats.Comparable-size models by XP-Pen and Huion are the same price (their newest models) but their screes are not laminated - this one is. Lamination is wonderful - it reduces the space between your pen nib and the cursor on the screen below it.Parallax is virtually nil, but I will note that very close to the edges the cursor does tend to pull away from the nib, but I was aware that this was a "thing" before I purchased and I was happy to "make do". It's really not terrible, and if you don't like it, just drag the area you're working on into the centre of the screen and *ta-da* problem solved. There is a "built in" screen protector under a peel-off one that you remove before using, and it's great, but there's not a lot of "tooth" to it. It's not a slick as writing/drawing on glass, but it's still kind smooth-ish. I would have preferred something more matte, but honestly, I'm kind of used to it now.I gave it 5 stars for thickness only because i've never been asked to rate the thickness of anything and I'm always up for new experiences. Having said that, the entire thing is a little over a cm thick, which surprised me because it looks thicker - in the middle on the back is a small 10cm square-ish block that sticks out where you plug in the **separate** usb/hdmi and power cables - no silly "3-in-1" cable which , if even one thing dies you still have to return the whole thing, you get three distinct cables, and that's awesome. Also the adjustable stand is already attached when you get it, so one less thing to fiddle with.some people are not super stoked about the shortcut keys because they're not lit and your can't find them through touch, but I'm left handed so i'm just using my keyboard any way.Short, final note: I've been painting and drawing and illustrating and doing all sorts of creative things for 40 years (longer but i feel like I'm aging myself enough by admitting to 40 years) and i have sold things that i have done so I guess you could say I'm professional - and I like this and recommend it.Yes, I'm sure it's great for beginners, but really, it's a great piece of equipment for anyone, regardless of the price and if you don't have to spend $2700 to work on a big tablet, don't.
Valeu
Estou gostando muito do produto, atendeu plenamente as minhas expectativas
Fantastic drawing tablet
A fantastic drawing tablet at a good price. Has all the necessary drawing features. Large and easy to use and install. Has an angle adjusted bracket for work on desktops. Comes with spare nibs and glove. A recommended tool for beginner artists looking for a medium priced drawing tablet.
Perfect for both biggener and professional artists
This tablet is awesome for biggener artists. Those who are confused whether they should get it or not lemme just tell you it's almost perfect. Here's a drawing that I made using this tablet and the outcome is I'll say good as I am usually bad at digital art. It has some output errors in the edges but it's not big of a deal and can be ignored most of the time and I didn't really had any problems with the drivers unlike many people but youtube exists and it can help you with the drivers. So give it a try if you really want to get a good graphics tablet. Again thanks for the tablet ^_^
Gaomon PD2200 Awesome responding screen
At the begin, it was a little bit difficult to understanding how the sketchpad replying, but you must clone the main screen, because it doesn't works well in twins monitor mode. The tactile is insanely precise. It can read perfectly pressions points. You can calibrate like you want it. Highly recommends it !
