The starter kit includes 1 Sidekick Machine, 1 Pair of Sidekick Cutting Pads, 1 Embossing Pad, 1 Framelits dies, 11 Thinlits dies, 1 small Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 6 Stamps, 1 Instruction Booklet. What is die cutting? Die cutting is a quick and easy way of producing individual, or mass shapes from paper, foil, cardstock or even chipboard using a machine and die, instead of cutting by hand. What cuts my material? A die cutting machine will always be necessary in order to die cut, though it's not the machine itself that physically cuts your material. The die cutter you use (for example a Sizzix Bigz, Thinlits or Framelits die), is responsible for revealing your design. the machine just applies the pressure. So if you're ever unsure if you can die cut a certain material, check the compatibility of your die rather than your machine

5.0 out of 5 stars A Little Workhorse
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } After nearly 15 years, my original Sidekick had to be replaced after I dropped it...twice. I don't think I could go without this little workhorse. It's the perfect size for tucking into a bag for crops, using on a tray-table while on the sofa, and for those little dies. While I have a BigShot and Cuttlebug, I mostly use this diecutting machine. It's very sturdy; the suction on this one seems to be better than the original; and the cutting plates last for years with care (I use one plate for cutting, flipping if it starts to get a warped). When one plate is completey scratched up, I switch so that a new plate is now getting hit with the metal blade. When both are really scratched up, I just keep flipping to avoid warping. I've had my current plates for 3 years now and I use this machine every single day a lot. This is the first time, though, that I've had the mini embossing plate. It's really more like a shim in that it's hard plastic but thinner than the diecutting plate. For some reason, I thought it was going to be more like the rubber mat like the one for my Big Shot. It seems to work okay nonetheless. I miss my red Sidekick but, again, I can't imagine papercrafting without this! The only weird thing with these Sidekicks is you turn the handle the opposite way you think you should (that is, toward you rather than away from you). I've turned the machine around and around and I still have to roll the handle toward me.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is stupidly cute 🤣
Did I need this? Nope! Do I love it? Yep! I have the big shot, and that is great, but sometimes I don’t want to bother with getting it out and setting it up, only to cut one small piece. That’s where this comes in. It’s small enough that I can leave it out and really weighs very little. The suction cup on the bottom works great and even attaches to a cutting mat (self-healing type) that I use when I’m working on the floor on carpet. I’m only adding that because carpet obviously doesn’t provide a hard surface, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to use it without a rigid surface under the mat.So absolutely unnecessary, but very nice to have:) cuts great - even though 2 pieces of card stock (90lb).
5.0 out of 5 stars Good machine for cutting small dies under 2.5x5 inches
It worked great for little dies. If your die is wider than 2.5 or longer than 5 inches it will not fit on the cutting plates. I use it mainly for flowers, words and small parts of other dies.I cut 40 Christmas cards that had houses, trees, street lamps and many other pieces using this die. I ended up using sticky dots to secure the dies to the cutting plates since I cut so many of the same pieces. Using this smaller Sizzix save a lot of time. The suction really didn’t work well but holding the top helped. I just resorted to resetting it before each cut. If you can brace the machine against a stationary board the suction worked for multiple cuts.Even with it’s faults it is worth the money.I’m toying with the idea to make some new cutting plates that are longer for border dies. I think it can be done with desk cutting mats that are the healing type.
1.0 out of 5 stars Bad
When the sidekick arrived it looked like it had been through the war. The packaging was damaged . Definitely someone else's returned item. Will be returning immediately... Suck
5.0 out of 5 stars Small and efficient, very portable, and cuts well!!
Great to put on a tray and use while watching movies or TV, also to take to craft night as it is light weight and you can make numerous greetings or small dies
4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly perfect.
I love this machine. I have a mini die cut machine from spellbinders, but it doesn't have near the power of this one, and some of the plates to that machine aren't replaceable. I find this far superior in nearly every way. Only one, small thing could be improved.. The cutting plates are really short. For instance, I may have a die that fits width wise into the mini machine, but if the plates are only 4-5 inches long, my die can't be longer than that. I have many skinny border dies and word dies that are about 6 inches long that I can't cut on the machine because the cutting plates are too short! If they made plates that were extra long as an accessory to this, it would be perfect. AS is, 4 stars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Gave as a gift
I gave this to my daughter as a gift. She has not reported on her experience. But everything was delivered as advertised and the transaction was trouble free.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this little machine super handy.
Great die cut machine and love the small size. The suction doesn't really work on my hard plastic crafting table, but the size of the cutter is easy enough to manage even without suction to table. Make sure to register your machine with sizzix for warranty.
Perfekt für Kleinigkeiten
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Perfekt für Kleinigkeiten auszustanzen. Ich habe zwar danach die Big Shot gekauft aber für Kleinigkeiten ist sie perfekt und leicht zu verstauen. vIch empfehle es gerne weiter
Fabulous machine
Great quality, cuts 300gsm card no problem. The suction cups are amazing! It has the build quality I expect from Tim Holtz. I would highly recommend this product. I have put off getting a smaller machine for so long, now I wish I had got one sooner.
Tamanho ideal
Apesar do tamanho e como sou iniciante, o tamanho é ideal. Estou adorando trabalhar com a máquina, irei adquirir mais itens da marca.
Brilliant little machine
When I first received the Sidekick I was very disappointed and thought it was the biggest waste of money I had spent so far.Months later and realising it was me at fault and not the Sidekick, I think it is the best thing I have bought to date. If it was broken, I would order another one straight away without any hesitation. I have the Bigshot Plus which is getting harder for me to use so I use the Sidekick for as many things as I can, it sits right on my workspace so it is easy to get at.I am often amazed at the way it cuts so easily, through heavy cardstock and cardboard. I have very rarely had to run something through twice, it is truly a brilliant little machine and well worth the money. It just takes time to figure out how to use it properly, the position of the dies on the paper/card is all it takes.
Amei o produto
Amei! Fácil de usar e muito lindinha.
