I’m one of those people that only write reviews when I’m exceptionally pleased with my purchase. I’m VERY happy they made a product like this because I recently realized the value of straight razor shaving and was having a bitch of a time dealing with the foaming kinds of cream. Just used it and it was great! Great scent, you can see what you’re doing and get great lines. Great product, great value for money. Stay away from the WAHL gel. It’s thick and messy. This has a watery consistency that’s just thick enough to assist in the shave. I bought twenty bottles of it from their website when Bolo ran out of it. That’s how much I prefer this over anything else.

This product smells great, works great, and is a great value for all that you get. I use this on my head with my freebird shaver instead of free bird shave gel. Just wished they made the preshave oil scent to match this gel. I did not like the preshave oil smell

I really wasnt too sure about this gel. I decided to take the leap based off the reviews.My first application, I just wasnt sure how much to use. It doesnt really have a sandalwood scent to me? It kinda smells like sour cream? A little? Maybe?Anyways, it goes on clear. Im honestly used to foaming shave gel. I normally use Nivea Sensitive Skin. You dont have to use very much of this. If you’re used to creams or foaming gel, it might be an ofd experience at first.I got a much better shave and my face was not dry at all post shave.Im not real sure on the price point being the first ingredient is water and the 2nd is glycerin but it works well and will likely buy again until I figure out how to make it myself!Id give it 4 stars. Would give it 5 if they could bring down the price a little for something where the 2 main ingredients are water and glycerin though. Other than that, it does what it says on the tin. I got a closer shave opposed to the Nivea gel I use and my face wasnt dry post shave.

As a long time Zirh shave gel user I was looking for an alternative to their high price and their petroleum like smell. Trying this product I immediately noticed that the gel is very thin and is very soluble in water which does not allow you to really go over an area multiple times especially if you have hairs growing in different directions. Afterwards my skin feels drier that I have to use a post shave product. With Zirh I don't. I tried new blades and had to use over 4 pumps to get enough gel to cover my whole face and to keep a layer of gel on it. I seem to use over twice the amount I did with my old product. Smell is OK, but if I have to use so much it's not worth it in the long run.

Excited that the delivery was early by Bolo. I've been waiting. Wet my face and head for the greatest shave of my life. It was a bit sticky. Using a gillette razor so I know that wasn't it. It was close. Everything was just ok. After shaving my face and head was burning. Skin was bothered and it was fighting to heal. To much alcohol in the product. Very disappointing. Not made for brown skin. Be careful using this product if your sensitive. It's the opposite of what it say. More for ruff skin.

I really like this product. The shave butter I used to use is no longer made and I had been searching for a good replacement product. This gel is lightly scented, offers superior lubricity, and makes shaving easy for my sensitive old skin.

I bought this because I started using a safety razor and didn’t like the idea of not being able to see while shaving my legs. This stuff smells nice and is clear as advertised.
The cleanest shave you'll get
This stuff is truly great. The clear gel provides the line of sight you need to make your clean lines, and absolutely lets your blade glide smoothly to get a nice clean shave. Pay more and buy this this product, and know that it'll last a very long time.The only issue is that the the gel is a tad thick/hard to watch off. It doesn't interfere with your shave or anything, but it might stick to your face/razors afterwards a bit more than a simple rinse will wash off. It does wash off with not too much effort, but it doesn't just come right off with water. It definitely is a gel layer. If they could somehow make it thinner/more soluble while retaining it's smooth shave this would be a perfect product.Regardless, it's definitely better than what you're currently using.

Mountain shaving cream/lotion is heads and shoulders ( no pun) above any other shaving cream on the market in my view. I have been shaving some 45 years . I I have used aerosols , mug and badger brush, 5 blades and now safety razor using single blades . Mountain shaving gel has given me the smoothest , best shave second only to a barber shave . I have no nicks, no redness and no razor burn. All though expensive ( that’s why only 3 stars on value) the price is worth it . I throughout my shaving creams, shaving gels, shaving mugs and my $85.00 shaving badger brush ( I did not throughout brush) because Mountain applied easily and rinses off with just a warm wash cloth. I start by filling my sink with hot water , then wetting a wash cloth and squeeze out excess water, then wrap my face in the heat . Next I apply shaving pre oil, the applying Mountain. Trust me fellows you will not be disappointed regardless of which shaving apparatus you Use although I recommend a safety razor using single blade . They are so cheap I change blades after every two or three shaves .
Excellent shave gel
The shaving gel works really well. One of the best I have used -very smooth. The actual pump mechanism is not working even after turning it to the open position.
Convenient and great smell
I use this while shaving in the shower mainly because I was looking for a shaving cream bottle that doesnt rust overtime if exposed to humidity like conventionnal metal containers. I really love how close it shaves and how fresh you feel and smell afterwards. Defenitely recommand it
Really wanted to like this...
Very disappointed, as I really wanted to like this shaving gel. Bottle arrived leaking and damaged, but I was still willing to over-look this in my search for a good Canadian shaving product.But the product itself is runny and not particularly lubricating. With each successive shave, I'm using more and more, and still getting nicks and jabs. A very poor experience. And an expensive one. Cannot recommend. Hopefully, this product can be improved.
