My 9-year-old son has the first 12 of this series, and he absolutely loves it. He flies through them, so I think these would work well for kids as young as 7 who excel with longer books. The print is large, and there are small pictures on every other page or so to keep the younger ones interested. This is a great series with more than 25 books, so it's a good one to get started on if you have younger kids into chapter books!

From our son's point of view every book should have magic, dragons, and a problem to solve. These books fit the bill. The characters are relatable and show growth thru the series. The font is larger for early reading and the young readers are rewarded with the occasional black and white photos. Helped our son grow in confidence as he was reading chapter books and he quickly became able to read these rapidly, but still asks for more as he is invested in the story.

I adore this book series! Finally a high interest chapter book series that is intellengent and engaging, but yet easy for readers of elementary ages to read them self. I love the Branches books for my new readers to transition to chapter books, but this book series will be loved by all ages. Exciting and fun and imaginative.

My 8 year old daughter loves this series. It can sometimes be a struggle to get her to put her tablet down and read a book but she looks forward to reading these books each night. They are reading level appropriate for a 2nd grader.
