Very grippy, but even smaller than dunlop tortex jazz / jazz 3 shape. Seems to play smooth. Less click than a 1mm pick, but excellent bold authoritative attack👍👍
5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed
These are excellent picks, available in a variety of sizes and shapes. They're all 2.0mm, which I prefer, and have a tacky feel to them, ensuring you hold on to them, even when sweaty. They're tough, I can barely bend them, ever so slightly, and find the white color easy to find in my pile of picks and on the floor, on those rare occasions I drop one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately, this is a GOOD one!
Unfortunately, this is a GOOD one! I say unfortunately because they aren't excatly dirt-cheap, but not bad considering THREE of the John Petrucci Primetone Jazz III's are TWELVE bucks!!!! FOUR dollars EACH??? .. Anyway, these are spectacular. VERY pointy, which "catches" EVERY single string strike, with EASE. Sadly, it does wear away rather quickly, but I do pick 12,000 notes per second, lol. It still plays VERY WELL, even after the point rounds a bit. GOOD PICK!
5.0 out of 5 stars I find better and better priced than blue chip picks
I like these mini picks for jazz guitar as well as the jazz 3 guitar picks from dunlop. These 1.5 picks are the perfect bite for jazz guitar as are the dunlop 1.5 tortex jazz III picks. I find them awesome and cheaper than blue chip picks (don't know what the hype about those picks are) and blue chips are too pricey for me and swear they are so special ( not to mention pricey!!!). They are $35-$75 for one pick. I can get a whole gross of strings for that or several packages of other brands of better quality picks for jazz guitar for those prices. Just get these picks and for the money and price you'll thank me.

*Let me preface this by I've been using Dunlop Jazz III's for 15 years or so now. So much of this will be in comparison to these widely known picks.*TL/DR version:Overall very nice picks. Thick, durable, and should last a while before wearing down.4/5 for value as these are a bit more costly than most picks (including the Jazz III's) but not quite as much as say the D'Andrea's Pro Plec's I tried many years ago4/5 for easy to hold due to lack of grip. The Dunlop Jazz III's have spoiled me with their textured grip from the logo/descriptionsLong version:I may change my review over time as I continue to use these but the noticeable change in my technique (for better or worse remains to be seen) had a profound impact on me that I never experienced before when changing picks. About 15 years ago, I felt like my playing wasn’t progressing. I was using a fairly common pick (Dunlop Tortex Standards in .60mm). So I decided to hit up Bolo and another online retailer and buy a bunch of different picks. Different sizes, materials, shapes. Through this experiment, I landed on the Dunlop Jazz III’s as my go to. The black XL Stiffo’s or the Delrins (translucent yellow; these are my overall favs), with a shoutout to the D’Andrea Pro Plec’s for it’s warm smooth buttery tones.Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago when I heard about Ernie Ball’s Prodigy picks. “Okay…” I said to myself, “let’s give these a try.”I went for the White Prodigy 2.0mm picks. These picks are thicker than Jazz III's (Jazz III's come in at about 1.38mm) and are also more pointy. No issues initially here… But I did take a star away due to the Prodigy picks lacking a textured surface. The Jazz III’s are very grippy and again, have spoiled me.It’s possible that the above have all combined to force my picking technique to change over the course of about 2 weeks (or I wore the tip down a fraction of a millimeter). Initially, I felt my pick was getting "stuck" or perhaps taking longer to release from the string. I don't know if the pick extended past my grip more due to the point, or if the thickness/tip in general made me change my technique, or the lack of grip forced me to grip tighter causing a change.But I want to get this out there for anyone thinking about changing from their current pick of many years to these. I definitely had a noticeable change. But with my casual 'noodling' on the guitar I was able to get acclimated in about 2 weeks. (I'm still changing between my Jazz III's and the Prodigy's regularly during my practicing)Lastly, the price. Not the cheapest picks, nor the most expensive. But for the casual guitarist, these might fall in the middle of the price range. I’ve yet to determine if they are worth the ~$10, so that is the reason for the 4 stars here. I may change this over time as I play with these picks over a longer period of time.Overall, the picks work very well with no quality issues. I can’t say these picks are a game changer but everyone has a different experience. Time will tell if these become my new “go to”, or if I stick with the Jazz III’s.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing and versatile guitar picks!!!
I was a bit skeptical about the small and thick size of the Ernie ball pick 2.0 mm minis. Many review have mentioned that these picks are particular identical to another popular guitar pick, I ordered a pack to see what they offer in terms of size and accuracy. As soon I opened the package and upon use, I noticed a significantly difference in my speed. I was amazed on how lenient and effective the pick had on the strings, I have used these guitar pick for roughly 3 months and feel comfortable when using them, especially how easy it can be used for strumming too. I recommend the Ernie ball prodigy mini 2.0 for anyone looking for leads and effective attacks on the strings, while performing strumming too, a really great guitar pick!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars The best guitar picks!!!
If you have small hands like me then these are the ones you’ll want to buy!
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Picks
They feel great. Each one produces a different tone and playing experience. I'm not sure which size is my favorite they all play well. I really like the large shield so far, but once I switched from that to the tear drop, it completely changed the experience.The texture is sort of like that material they use in luxury cars. Its almost rubbery but its firm. No flimsy, slippery, or plastic feel. They just slide from string to string with ease.The color is not actual black. Its more of a dark grey. Not a problem at all but just a heads up.I play a PRS SE custom 24. I use Ernie Ball .009-.042 Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings, Nickel Wound, Super Slinky. I play heavy distorted rock, solo / riffing stuff, and less distorted, dreamy reverb stuff.
Great Pick
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I really like the tone I get. It glides from string to string. Very smooth. I can get very fast runs sounding smooth.
Exactly what I was looking for
Small size, thick and sharp pick. Perfect for fast picking, gives great control. I was confused between this and the jazz III. Couldn't find the later one and it was also more expensive. This one fit the bill and does the job.
