For about 12 years I have made 1 morning cup of coffee each day and that’s it. No coffee throughout the day like most other coffee drinkers. I always bought the same brand. This week I went to buy a canister at Walmart and was shocked that it had gone up to approx. $9.00. So, I checked to see if it was cheaper at Dollar General or my local supermarket. Not much difference there. Ended up searching on Bolo, like any self respecting human. *grin*. Decided to give this BoloFresh ground French Vanilla a try, since it was more affordable than my previous tried and true brand. I could smell the difference straight away when I opened the pouch. It smelled divine. Then when I took my first sip I was converted. If you are on the fence, as they say, give this a try. It will help with your budget and possibly bring a smile to your face.
5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth coffee, awesome taste. I recommend!
So about this coffee……. Well after one use I’m a fan. Since moving to a new area I learned the hard way that coffee is native to certain areas. That’s when I set out to explore my options. My job supplies Folgers, and it’s like drinking a strong whiskey. Let me explain. That face you make due to taste. Well to my surprise; when I took the first sip from this coffee it went down without a dry, or dirty taste. It’s smooth!! Smooth as butter going down. I don’t add sugar or cream to my coffee I drink black coffee. Glad toHave found a smooth tasting coffee. This review is for Colombia medium roast.
4.0 out of 5 stars It won't impress your friends, but great for daily use.☕️🇨🇴
Great‑price daily brew that punches above its budget beansPicked up this 2‑lb bag of Bolo Fresh Colombia to replace the pricier boutique roasts draining my grocery budget. I brew a full pot every morning in a drip machine and occasionally run a pour‑over on weekends.### What hits the spot* **Smooth, medium‑bodied cup.** Notes of mild cocoa and a little dried‑berry sweetness—no burnt aftertaste.* **Consistent grind size.** Works straight out of the bag in a standard paper filter; no sludge in the carafe.* **Wallet‑friendly.** Runs roughly half the cost per ounce of my local roaster’s Colombian beans.* **Rainforest Alliance certified.** Nice to see an eco label on a store‑brand option.### Where it falls short* **Non‑resealable packaging.** Once you cut it open it’s wide‑mouth to the world—transferred to an airtight canister to keep it fresh.* **Lighter than some “mediums.”** Dark‑roast fans may find it too gentle; I bump the scoop count by one for a stronger cup.* **Aromatics fade after two weeks.** Flavor stays fine, but the just‑opened scent diminishes quickly without solid storage.### Real‑world impact* **Budget win.** Saved about \$12/month compared with my former brand while still enjoying a genuinely good cup.* **Office crowd pleaser.** Colleagues who normally drown coffee in creamer drink this one black.### Hacks & tweaks* **Vacuum canister or Mason jar** after opening = fresher aroma to the last scoop.* **French press brew** at a 1:14 ratio intensifies body for those who like more oomph.### Who it’s for* Daily coffee drinkers who want quality Arabica without boutique pricing.* Households that go through grounds quickly and appreciate the bigger 32‑oz bag.* Anyone easing into medium roasts from lighter breakfast blends.### VerdictKeep and reorder. The flavor‑to‑cost ratio makes this my new default pantry coffee. Just plan on transferring it to a sealed container and upping the dose if you favor a bolder brew.
5.0 out of 5 stars Staple pantry purchase
Tried the bold flavor today and loved it. I like this mich better than the light brew. Bold helps give me that wake up kick. It is smooth to the taste. It's a rich flavor brew and good quality and amount for price. Rich and robust brew.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best and least expensive coffee
I use ground coffee that I purchased at places like Starbucks, then brew it at home. For many years I used one particular grind. I happened to notice Bolo coffee, so purchased one bag. I was so impressed by the flavor at about one third the cost of Starbucks, so this blend has become my #1 choice
3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing weak coffee
This is a light roast. It is aromatic but lacks flavor and the caffeine content is disappointingly low. I found myself using a few more scoops than usual trying to get a good cup from it. Won’t buy again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Smooth and Rich Coffee That Punches Above Its Price Point
I was genuinely surprised by how good this Bolo Basics Colombian ground coffee turned out to be. It brews up smooth with a slightly rich, bitter finish that gives it a nice depth, especially considering the price. I’m using a cheap $20 Mr. Coffee drip machine, and it still comes out grea, so I can only imagine how much better it would taste on a higher-end setup. The aroma is fantastic, both from the bag and in the cup, with a darker, full-bodied scent that really hits when you bring it to your lips. I've tried a lot of budget coffees, and this one easily stands out as one of the best values. Definitely something I’ll keep buying, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for solid coffee without breaking the bank.
4.0 out of 5 stars Tasty
This is very good coffee. I've been enjoying it brewed hot then poured over ice with cold creamer's. It's flavor holds up well better than the popular brand I was paying double the price for. The aroma is not too strong. I'm not a coffee geek/snob but this is better than average store shelf brands.(imo)My usual brand was out of stock, I was suggested this generic looking Bolo flavor in its place... give it a try.
