I used 3 valves to create an automated, remote switch for a tractor-mounted sprayer that we use for applying fertilizers and weed killers. Previously, I had to dismount the tractor when I wanted to switch from recirculating the solution to pressurizing the hose/wand applicator, then to routing the solution to the mounted boom applicator, etc. A total pain!Now I can flip a switch or two to operate the valves from the drivers seat and keep moving.For those who may be intimidated by wiring the valves, don't be. All valves share a common ground wire (unswitched). You just need a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) toggle switch to operate each valve. Wire a power source, 12vdc positive in my case, to the center terminal of each switch. The remaining two terminals become the "output" for the power, one to power the valve open, the other to power the valve closed. With this valve, power is not required to hold the valve open or closed. Once it reaches the desired open or closed state, it stays in that state until power is applied to the opposite lead to reverse its state. Very nice. If power is turned off, the valve remains in its current state.The included instructions are easy to understand.There are valves by this manufacturer that will close if power is shut off, if that better suits your needs.Combine these valves with good switches and waterproof connectors, and you'll have a great setup.

Like all water irrigation system lines, mine leak and the pump cycles. So I put this valve in-line then put in a relay; when the timer calls for water it first energizes the relay to open this nice little valve, thus the flow to the irrigation valves, then they open. Installed in a box outside. Works great for 2 mos.

I ordered the first valve 6 years ago and installed it into the drip system and a remote emergency cutoff. It has been in the open position for 6 years. I now have installed this one in the front system. I thought it might be time to cycle the old valve( I know - way past time). I really thought that it would be either dead or frozen because it is out in the open, but it cycled just like it did 6 years ago. The engineering in these valves are truly outstanding.

I Hooked it up, it worked fine, checked a week later, not working. Valve makes cachinkcachinkcachink sound when it should open. USSOLID sent a replacement, good service!I Hooked it up, it worked fine, checked two days later, not working, same symptoms. cachinkcachinkcachink soundtested diodes and D2 is shorted, on both valves, must be power or design, not likely for two in row to fail the same way without a similar cause.I got a diode assortment and replaced D2 (2 amp 60V) diode with a 3 amp 40V Diode, valve control worked like it should using 12V DC.I hooked up a 24VAC transformer and the replacement diode shorted out in a few seconds.Diode is lower voltage then the original so dies even faster.My bottom line: Valve specs should say 9-24V DC ?-12V AC, WARNING 24VAC will damage valve control.

This valve is used to protect a 60 gallon air compressor and shop air system. I had a copper pipe from the compressor pump to the tank rupture several years ago and the compressor ran continuously for several hours until I came home. To prevent that from ever happening again, I added a timer, motor contactor, and shut off valve to the compressor to make sure it is powered off when I'm not in the shop. The previous valve was a 1" self closing valve, but unfortunately it leaked and allowed the compressor to slowly discharge when not in use. This valve holds pressure well so far. Now I just need to redo the electronics as the valve is not self closing.

It's really just open or closed. 0 or 1. No level of finite position control. Kind of useless outside of one specific use case.

Update: It fails to open sincelast week. I bought it less than a year ago, and used it only during the summer, once per day.I bought this last summer as part of an automated garden watering system. I used an outdoor LED 12V power supply, 12V to 5V transformer, an ESP32 module, and relay to run this valve from an out door spigot. I also attached a soil moisture sensor, plus temperature and humidity sensor.I did not want the actuator valve that uses energy just to stay open. This one uses energy only to open and close. That works fine, since it works almost every day, which probably helps keep it from seizing. I have had this for about 9months so far, and it works great. The setup allows me to turn the water on or off from anywhere, and part of any imaginable automation.The valve is compact, and seems pretty rugged. It opens and closes slowly, which is actually a plus, for my application, at least. It ahows no additional signs of wear for being outdoors.

Works well
I cannot comment on longevity as this valve has only been installed in the gas supply of my saiboat for a few weeks.The main advantage over a solenoid valve is that these units power down once the valve is open or closed. I found with the solenoid controlled valve ,which needs to be energized to stay open becomes very hot if the valve was open for long time, as when I was using the gas heater in my boat during the cold months.

Installed in Sprinter Van Grey water drain. Use 2 Position rocker switch (returns to center = null) , press up hold for 8 seconds (open)( hear slight hum till stops) . wait for water to exit , down for 8 sec = closed . Water in pipes froze , unit works fine after thaw.
