We have hard, acidic water. The acid neutralizer makes is harder. This filter seems to minimize the white residue on our black counter top. So far, so good.

I have a 3 stage whole house system for my well water with a stand alone iron filter and water softnener. I replaced the iron filter (within the 3 stage system) with this filter and it immediately fixed my problem. It's been about a week and my water is crystal clear.

We have had this filter installed now for 2-1/2 years, we swap it out every 12 months. It filters our well water, which has a bit of calcium. Our calcium hardness measures about 80 on the test strip and our fixtures were turning white with scale after 7 years without a filter, now for the past 2-1/2 years our scale has been a lot less to the point of not having to scrub everything with vinegar several times per year. I am glad I found this solution. We tried the electric wire wrapped on the pipes (did nothing) normal filters (did nothing) so this is a great item.

The first few of these I purchased were good, and I opened them up after they served for a year. I got cake of used KDF85 out of the bottom just to measure it. However, the last several I have opened up seem to have a lot less kdf-85 material and it is mixed in with the GAC material. I think the quality on these filters has gone down significantly but I'm doing to take a few more apart soon to verify.

Buyer beware, damaged my whole house filter! (fixed)
Blew the whole filter right off... Had this whole house filter for 13 years with carbon filters, iron filter, sediment filter... Had this polyphosphate for 1 week and this...Update October 26, 2020Company followed up and offered a resolution to my reported issue to my satisfaction. Finally, a company that stands behind their product. It would appear this was a faulty filter and not the norm. Will continue to buy from express water!
Very Effective and long lasting
We use this as the 3rd filter in our whole home 3 filter system, and it definitely is the filter that makes the most noticeable difference in terms of chlorine taste reduction. The standard carbon based filters work well with most odors, but these KDF are exceptional and very long lasting.

these KDF filters seem good have some weight to them close to 7lbs if I remember right I don't have iron or any heavy metal I know of in my city water so I can't say how well they work for that but seem to be a good addition just incase since I have four bb canisters to fill
