We had a wimpy spiralizer that was only able to do zucchini. We needed one that worked with yams, potatoes, and other firm vegetables. This is it! We haven’t tried the peeler blade yet but I don’t think I’d bother to set it up unless I had a large amount of potatoes or apples to peel. We can definitely recommend this attachment for spiralizing and slicing.
5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for any KitchenAid owner
Review of the KitchenAid Fruit and Vegetable Spiralizer Attachment Stand Mixer, Polished AluminumThe KitchenAid Fruit and Vegetable Spiralizer Attachment is a game-changer for anyone who loves to cook and wants to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their meals in a fun and creative way. This polished aluminum attachment is designed to pair seamlessly with KitchenAid stand mixers, bringing an array of culinary possibilities right to your kitchen.Design and Build Quality:Firstly, the polished aluminum construction not only gives it an elegant and modern aesthetic but also ensures durability and longevity. It feels sturdy in the hand and complements the robust design of KitchenAid stand mixers. The attachment is easy to install and remove, making it convenient for those who might want to quickly switch between attachments.Performance:When it comes to performance, this spiralizer truly excels. It comes with several blades that allow you to create different types and sizes of spiral cuts. From thin spaghetti-like strands to thicker ribbon cuts, this tool makes transforming your favorite vegetables and fruits into beautiful spirals a breeze. I’ve experimented with zucchini, carrots, apples, and sweet potatoes, and each time the results were consistent and aesthetically pleasing. The powerful motor of the KitchenAid stand mixer ensures that even harder vegetables can be spiralized with ease. I was particularly impressed with how effortlessly it handled tough vegetables like beets. The precision and evenness of the spiral cuts are remarkable, leading to uniform cooking times when preparing dishes like stir-fries or salads.Ease of Use and Cleaning:Using the spiralizer attachment is simple. The instructions are clear, and within minutes, I was able to start spiralizing. The included food holder keeps everything steady and secure, allowing for safe operation. Cleanup is equally straightforward—most parts are dishwasher-safe, making it easy to maintain.Culinary Versatility:What I love most about the KitchenAid Spiralizer is its versatility. It not only encourages healthier eating habits by making veggies more appealing but also unleashes creativity in the kitchen. From zoodles (zucchini noodles) to apple desserts and vegetable garnishes, the possibilities are endless. It’s a fantastic way to introduce kids to more vegetables, making meals both fun and nutritious.Value for Money:While the attachment may seem like a bit of an investment, for anyone who regularly uses a stand mixer and enjoys cooking, it’s well worth it. The quality and precision of the spiralizer combined with the versatility it offers makes it a valuable addition to any kitchen.Final Thoughts:In summary, the KitchenAid Fruit and Vegetable Spiralizer Attachment Stand Mixer is a must-have for anyone looking to elevate their cooking experience. Its durability, ease of use, and excellent performance make it stand out in the realm of kitchen gadgets. Whether you want to make healthier meal choices or simply add a touch of creativity to your dishes, this attachment will certainly help you achieve your culinary goals. Highly recommended!

I waivered on getting this for months as I have a manual spiralizer and an old apple peeler but I'm glad I did. It's as fast to set up than the manual spiralizer but faster to use. It is a lot faster to set up than my apple peeler that needs clamped to the counter.
4.0 out of 5 stars EASY APPLE SLICES OR FUN SHAPED SALADS ---- BRIEF NOTES ON SLICE THICKNESS, USAGE, & PARTS DURABILITY
MOST METAL AND PLASTIC PARTS ARE SUBSTANTIAL --- BUT STILL WISH SOME PARTS WERE NOT PLASTIC & SOME METAL PARTS COULD BE MORE SUBSTANTIALA BRIEF PROS AND CONS REVIEWI have wonderful memories as a kid making preserved apples and apple pies with my family using a utensil similar to this that screwed onto a thick wood counter top. Snacking on fresh apple spirals as my mom worked on the crust. Our device back then didn't have the extra options these machines do now. This attachment has substantial feeling parts in terms of it's body and bases, and is an absolute snap to attach and put together. Some parts feel a little less substantial but not necessarily cheap. With all the really fun stuff you can do (Kitchenaid already supplies a lot of photos), you just might even get a finicky child to eat their vegetables in those spirally straw shapes. The metal is fairly thick and sturdy, but there are still some plastic parts and some thin metal by design, and even aluminum in areas you might not expect given other very sturdy parts. Most of the plastic is also quite sturdy though. As you can see, the back end with prongs that stick into the core has plastic spikes and the small skewer feels more like aluminum rather than steel. I worry about those parts in the long run. However, I had no problem with slippage on things such as large apples or potatoes. All the attachments are dishwasher safe though the body is supposed to be hand washed according to the information. It's a great way to change the texture of your food and eat more fresh things.SOME GREAT THINGS MADE EASY -- THINGS YOU CAN DO, AND SOME THINGS YOU CANNOT:--- With quick set up you can start running apples through for storage or apple pies in quick succession. Peel or don't peel while you spiral them through. It's just a matter of sliding the peeler attachment onto the setup. For those who have not used a spiralizer, you do have to cut the spirals down the middle to make them into just slices (after creating the spirals on the machine). That's not a big deal obviously. Whether you are making potato fries, apple pies, or thinner sliced fresh apple or vegetable bags for lunch, this thing makes them easy.--- There is no end of cool things you can make with the spiral straws from vegetables, from unique textured soups to salads your kids might even find fun. I have a spiral potato/onion thing I came up with that is fried like a bloomin onion that I think is awesome! The imagination is the only limit.--- There is a large core slicer and a small core slicer for different sized fruits or vegetables. Those adjust to the size of the core on the front end metal gripper (back end spikes are plastic as I mentioned) and will make a smaller or larger core left over as appropriate. However, they cut roughly the same size thickness of slice and YOU CANNOT ADJUST THE THICKNESS OF THINGS LIKE APPLE OR POTATOTO SLICES. Both the small and large core slicer cut just slightly greater than 1/8th inch thickness.--- As with most spiralizers, it works best when you can make the produce reasonably symmetrical by cutting ends off and any weird large bumps like potato eyes. It is not made for soft, pulpy fruits of course. That seems intuitive, but they actually state that.BRIEF RECAP OF NEGATIVES: Though I love this machine, I don't want to sound unrealistic with points to consider: There are rare parts that seem less substantial despite overall feeling of quality. The thickness of vegetable slices cannot be adjusted. The container box is a bit bulky (this attachment is a little bigger than you might expect), but you can always put that away. The peeler tool takes a pretty thick skin off, so you may feel you are wasting a tiny bit on apples and other thin skinned vegetables, though potatoes are a little more appropriate. There are cheaper options for those not into the Kitchenaid total nexus for the Stand Mixer.FINAL THOUGHTS: In my opinion this is partly about Kitchenaid user ability to replace another kitchen tool and keep it combined in one convenient kitchen tool system. I love having lots of options to attach to my mixer. But truthfully you can accomplish these tasks with a much less expensive tool. It may or may not be as substantial. It may even cut different width slices that this one won't. But if you use the stand mixer already, this is a terrific accessory. One of my favorites actually. It really comes down to what you need in your kitchen and what you want to spend. As I said before, I would feel more comfortable with at least one part being steel rather than plastic. But then more parts of this product are metal than a lot of spiralizers out there so I really can't complain that much.Bolo does not allow inserting links to other company product pages. But if you go to the Kitchenaid web site you can view very slick demonstration videos for this product.

See video/pictures attached.
The media could not be loaded. We've used a manual hand crank peeler, and then manual corer/slicer for preparing apples for applesauce for years, but wanted to save ourselves some time and effort as we've made larger batches each year. We've also used my KitchenAid mixer for years, but never have tried any of the attachments for it yet, so this was our first attempt at using the KitchenAid mixer for anything aside from mixing. This gadget really saved the day! We had 3 1/2 bushels to peel/core (that's about 170lbs of apples!!). We had them all cored and peeled within about 3.5 hours! The best part is that it cores the apples while it peels/slices them so there is nothing left to do after, and there's virtually no clean up other than the spiralizer itself. The apples end up so thin that they cook very quickly too.The spiralizer comes with:-The frame; the part that holds goes in the mixer-The 'stabber'; for holding the veggies/fruit- Peeling blade; removes/peels outer skin- Corer/spiral slicer; removes core and also cuts into a spiral (see video)- Spiral slicer; cuts into a spiral but does not core (ex for tornado potatoes)- Thick cut spiralizer (finer spirals that the spiral slicer - ex for fettucine size spirals)- Thin cut spiralizer (finest spirals - ex for spaghetti size spirals)Note: The peeling blade can be used with any of the other attachments so that you can peel/core&spiral at the same time. The spiralizer's made of sold steel parts (except for the plastic parts that are used to snap the attachments into the frame). It seems like a pretty solid unit and well made. The plastic is a pretty rigid plastic so I don't think that it will have any issues either, and the attachments all snap in/out of the frame easily so they can be interchanged with no issues. The steel frame goes into the KitchenAid mixer easily and apparently it fits any stand mixer. One design improvement that could be made is that you need to depress a spring clip to bring the blade closer to the item you're peeling and if you're not careful you can get your thumb caught between the attachment. It won't cut you, but it does pinch a bit....so just be sure to keep your fingers out of the spring clip when pushing it forward. Another small thing that would improve the product is if they moved the KitchenAid logo away from the frame arm. This is where a plastic guide moves along the arm, and it is not always the smoothest feel. It would probably be a smoother glide if the logo was repositioned.Few tips:-Grease up the frame (where it says kitchenaid) with a little coconut oil or mineral oil to help the plastic guide slide along the frame while in operation. We'll probably put a fine layer of grease on everything before doing apples again because it does get VERY sticky after using it sugary fruits for a long time.-Watch your finger in the plastic spring clip when pushing the blades forward-Rinse off the parts right away to keep them clean, and do not immerse fully in water-Try to keep the box in good shape when opening the unit since it is perfect to use later for storing it again-I prefer keeping the 'stabber' on the machine and then pushing the fruit onto it, but my husband likes to put the item onto the stabber and then put the stabber onto the machine instead.-If you find the 'stabber' part is digging into the item, it only happens when the mixer is going full speed....then just use the mixer a little slower.-Try to line up the apple with the center of the coring blade when putting it on the machine. Some apples can be a bit sideways, so use the core direction as the guide, not the apple itself.-We preferred to put the apples stem side towards the machine and found that worked best-There's a tiny bit of apple peel left at the top/bottom of the apples which is easily removed just by breaking off that part of the chunk (but we just left it)-Press the corer into the apple a bit so it 'grabs' before starting the machine-The height of the spiral is not adjustable (ie how high each slice is) - only the width of spiral based on which attachment you useOverall this was a huge time saver, and we purchased another one for my mom because it saves so much time and is easy to use.You can see my attached video (sorry the video sideways, no video editing capabilities here...hopefully you get the drift!), and attached picture of the spiralizer in the box. Can't wait to try this on potatoes and other veggies. Would add a nice twist to dishes just to make them a little fancier, and would make cute garnishes for veggie trays etc.
Very nice
Let's face it, nobody needs a £150 spiralizer - so when I saw this on sale for less than half that I leaped at it. If you just want to TRY a spiralizer than I recommend buying a £15 plastic one to start with. However, if you have a Kitchenaid stand mixer and you know that you will use a spiralizer a lot this is the way to go.It is well thought out, easy to clean, and it comes in a decent storage box - albeit a cardboard one. With KitchenAid products, it is not a given that the design will be good. Their mixers are great, but some of the other (matching) products we have bought have fallen short in their design. This was not one of them
Doesn’t work on carrots
Not very impressed- I live all my other kitchen aid gadgets but this doesn’t work very well
