Let me start off by saying, we have two dogs...and they shed...a lot...and my husband tells me that I do to, but he secretly likes finding my hairs in his t-shirts.I vacuum almost daily, and all of a sudden, my Dyson brush head stopped spinning. After some online research, I was a bit upset because it looked like It might have been an electrical short issue and I was convinced I would have to replace the whole vacuum...then my husband came to the rescue, like he usually does.He began by disassembling the vacuum up top to access the switches. He checked both switches for functionality, and both were good. He then proceeded to the vacuum head, brush and brush motor assembly. He checked the "plug" where it attaches to the body of the vacuum for voltage, and he said he was getting voltage there with the switch turned on. So he cracked into the vacuum brush assembly and gained access to the motor. He used some tool to check the motor and said "the motor is toast...we just need to get a new motor". With a quick search, we found this assembly and ordered it, and I was just praying it would be the fix.Honestly it took a little longer to get here than I had hoped, but that's ok... It arrived in the middle of the day while I was at work, and my husband happened to be working from home that day, so he jumped into action as he usually does. It was packaged well, perfect fit, works perfect, and for the money, we cant complain compared to having to replace the vacuum. Hubby got it installed, and He even vacuumed the whole house for me after it was working again. Hubby to the rescue!Highly recommend this part if you're Dyson brush head stops spinning, before investing in an entire new vacuum. And I also highly recommend a hubby as smart as mine, if you dont already have one :)

4.0 out of 5 stars A slight design flaw by Dyson, pretty much forced me to buy this second cleaning head - but it's worth it!
We have REALLY furry long haired dogs, and even though our Dyson model is the Animal 2, we still have a section of the vacuum that allows hair to roll up and get stuck. This usually happens at the most inopportune times causing me to stop cleaning, and take apart the roller brush to get the hair out where the two sections of the rollers connect.Now I run the vacuum three - four times, and swap out the head with the clean one, which gives me time to clean out the spare roller head and have one at the ready. Is this a perfect solution? No. but at least it get's me through the cleaning process of my large mostly carpeted home. I do believe that this is a flaw in the design, but the vacuum works really great for us, so I'll deal with this slight issue.

The cleaner head on our 8 year old Dyson Ball Vacuum broke. Looks like the washer on the brush was the failed component on the original UP-13 model.This is branded an original Dyson replacement and was so easy to unclip, unplug and replace.Now my vacuum doesn't sound like a tornado anymore. Good as new.TBD on durability of this new brush. Hopefully another 8 years.
