Fresh Guard Soak by Efferdent is specially designed to clean the delicate materials used in retainers, mouth guards, clear braces, and other removable braces to deliver a complete clean. Give your removable braces, retainer or mouth guard a total clean. Fresh Guard Soak kills 99.9% of odor-causing bacteria in just 5 minutes. Many of today's current methods simply weren't designed to clean these devices and don't clean as well as patients like, sometimes even causing damage. Watch Fresh Guard work before your eyes as the foaming blue solution turns clear within 5 minutes, indicating your retainer, mouth guard or removable braces are clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only Product For My Nighguards
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I grind my teeth horrendously at night, so I've had an upper and lower nightguard made from the dentist for years now. I usually go through them fast because of my intense grinding, but if they last at least 2 years, they will start to get gross and yellow. Using this product keeps them as clean as possible for as long as possible.Be warned - this is NOT stuff you want to breathe in. I put my nightguards in different shallow bowls, but just enough water to cover them, and pour one packet into each bowl...while holding my breath. You'll want to leave the room for a good 10 minutes - it gives off chlorine fumes. That said, my bedroom is only about 10 feet from my bedroom and I can leave the door open and I can't smell the fumes. I also have asthma, and have not found that this irritates it.The directions say to wait until the solution is clear, but I've found the best thing to do is start rinsing when it's very light blue. At the onset, it's ocean blue, then lighter, and then it's almost clear but with a hint of blue - that's when you should start rinsing. If you wait too long, there will be a chemical taste no matter how much you rinse if you're using that appliance that night.I brush with lukewarm water and no toothpaste each morning and deep clean each guard once a week with this product. Before these came out, the only thing comparable to clean was denture tabs, but they didn't work right and it's not what they were made for, plus you had to soak them all day.In 10 minutes, I can rinse, brush with lukewarm water to get any remaining blue debris out of crevices, and can put them right in each week without much hassle.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job!
Quick and easy! Simply poured contents into warm water. Placed my night guard into water mixture. Timed for 5 minutes and done! There is no need to leave it any longer. So easy and it really cleans!I read reviews for this product and some mentioned that contents when poured makes them cough. Easy solution is not to stand directly over contents when pouring and hold it closer to the water. I never had an issue. Also, there were complaints of an aftertaste or bleach like taste. This can be avoided if you thoroughly rinse night guard in warm water after it’s done being cleaned in mixture. This is good stuff if done properly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Bang for the dollar
I was very happy with my purchase. They gave me five mouth guards. I have owned others in the past. The video they have could be a little better because they don't really tell you how much time to put the mouthpiece into the hot water. I would suggest 15 to 20 seconds. You can put a little cold water on it before you put it into your mouth to mold it. I will admit this is probably the best sleep I've had and it's only been day one. I didn't have any discomfort and my own dentist wanted to charge me over $300 for one mouthpiece.
4.0 out of 5 stars Super Aggressive, has a time limit, works and very similar to
I've been doing invisible aligners for the last 9 months so I've been through every possible cleaning routine... peroxide, water and toothbrush, clear mouthwash, denture tablets and products specifically made for clear aligners. This is the final one in the group that I've tested, and this one is the most aggressive. When I say most aggressive, I say that because there is a recommended time limit of the soak, of just a few minutes, and when you pour the powder into the water or empty glass to add water the chlorine smell can almost catch your breath, almost like pouring shock powder into a swimming pool or opening a tightly closed bin of chlorine pool tablets. That being said, it does clean, and very similar to Retainer Brite, it starts as a blue and fades to clear once the work is all done. This product works, but I clean my retainers several times a day, each time that I have them out to eat or drink. That being the case, I don't really like the 5 minute limit this product puts on how long you should leave the retainers in the bath, and often when I am eating or drinking it's more than 5 minutes. If I'm traveling for work and have had to take my aligners out and not properly wash them before putting them back in throughout the day and have minimal time for maintenance, this would be a great product for the "once a day aggressive clean". If I'm cleaning more than once a day I would probably prefer not to get the chlorine whiff and would prefer to stay with my "several times a day" option, Polident 3-Minute Anti-Bacterial Denture Cleanser Tablets, Triple Mint Fresh, 84 Count which at least in my experience and estimation isn't as harsh as this product. That being said, a natural comparison would be between this product and https://www.Bolo.com/Efferdent-Power-Clean-Crystals-Count/dp/B006ZHP7XM/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1497207206&sr=8-1&keywords=efferdent%2Bcrystals&th=1. I have used several boxes of those crystals and I'd say they're a fraction of the strength of this product, but again if you're cleaning more than once a day, that may be fine. Before this product, I would say that the Efferdent crystals and https://www.Bolo.com/Retainer-Brite-Tablets-Months-Supply/dp/B005GRGARE/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1497207336&sr=1-1&keywords=retainer%2Bbrite&th=1 were a tie for first place. What I like about this product, Retainer Brite and the Polident 3 minute is that they leave a slick feeling on the retainer / aligner after cleaning and I think this also help is resist things sticking to it over time. With the clear braces, after a certain amount of cleaning they start to feel "dried out" like a headlight plastic of a car, and sometimes eventually crack. So if I'm cleaning a lot, I'd use something like Polident 3 minute, if I'm cleaning less, I may mix in the Efferdent Crystals once, and if I'm only able to clean once a day I would use this or the Retainer Brite.Probably far more information than you wanted, but that's my 9 months worth of tablet experience. I didn't even mention the mouthwashes and peroxide! I'll sum it up this way: I stayed with the tablet and crystal options once I discovered them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for cleaning guards
I wear a night mouth guard to keep from wearing down my teeth. I wash it with soap and water, soak it in warm salty water and even soak it in listerine. But i think Fresh guard soak does the trick and it doesn't leave an after taste or residue. I leave it in until the water clears up or about 15 minutes. My dentist told me not to do this but I haven't had a problem yet . He actually wanted me to soak in warm water with a tiny drop of bleach....umm no thank you lol.

Works great!
Soak foams and adheres to mouth guard for sleep apnea. Guard is fresh each time I use it.
NOT BAD BUT NOT THE BEST.
I purchased this for 1852. It is a 24 day supply. If I compare Fresh Guard to Retainer Brite, then the latter is better.Directions for use - take a glass of water, place powder in it, stir it using a spoon and immediately place retainer in the water. Wait 5 minutes.(I usually wait 10-12 minutes)Then you need to rinse in clear water and once rinsing is done, you can wear the aligners.Does a good job of cleaning.I am using this with my invisalign(s)In terms of both value and performance, i prefer the retainer brite. However, this arrives faster.I am further reducing my rating -1. you have to stir it for sure.2. the water blue evaporates in less than 20 mins shows how impotent is3. weird taste in mouth...uggh what a turn off4. just not worth the money
