***UPDATE!!!!!!! After only using this for two months this device is so severely unreliable that it has caused a loved one who has a DUI unit on their car to have a FALSE reading and it showed a FAIL on the device! I am so disappointed in this company and this device! After a night of drinking and taking a cab, the next day we relied upon the device to show if any alcohol was remaining BEFORE starting the car with the Unit on it. IT FAILED- taking a reading again with the BACtrack - showed 0. This is a defective unit and it is out of the time frame for Bolo to return. Will the company return and replace? Not sure. Have not heard back from them. This little used to be great as I had one years ago, now THEY ARE JUNK!

Lifesaver! This could literally save someone's life (not to mention their legal status). I got the thing and first I was surprised at how tiny and lightweight it was. I could have lived without the blister pack, but that's a minor quibble. The instructions were clear and simple. Push the button, wait while it counts down, when it beeps, blow.As a test, I repeated another reviewer's test. First I blew three times into it (the manual recommends you do two 'fake' blows at first because it may have dust or contaminants on the sensor) -- 0.00 each time. Which is absolutely correct, since I am stone cold sober and haven't had a drink for a long time.Then I grabbed some Scope Classic (15% ABV... 30 proof!) and gargled for about thirty seconds and spit. Now minty fresh, I blew again. 0.26! Holy CRAP! That's more than three times the legal limit! So it clearly wasn't broken and stuck on "0".Next, I gargled some water and spit -- 0.19. Rinse, repeat a few seconds later -- 0.10. Wait a few minutes, eat a bite or two, drink some Diet Coke (gargling a bit -- strong, acidic carbonation should clear out the remaining alcohol) -- sure enough, back to 0.00. A few more repeats, still 0.00.I don't know if it's dead on accurate; it might read 0.10 for a cop's 0.08, or vice versa, so I would still stick to common sense rules like: if you drink, don't drive. But I will say that if you're stuck in a situation where you're not sure if it's safe and you have this little devil, it could just save your life.Great deal!

I purchased a $35 breathalyzer from our local "club store" and kept it in the car. My husband has actually handed the keys over to me several times now after drinks away from home when he was at the legal limit. Honestly...it was exactly what he needed, as I believe he has driven many times when he should not have. You can't argue with the numbers. So I bought the BACtrack S35 as an additional breathalyzer to keep at our home bar, where friends can check themselves before heading home. (OK...sometimes we've used it to see who was MORE drunk, just for fun.) But the BACtrack has not been dependable and the numbers are clearly very wrong. I should have returned it. I finally just threw it away, even though it was a bit pricey. I don't have time for things that don't work right.

I'm not sure how accurate the device is. I took the test an hour after one beer and it said I had 0.00 alcohol in my system. That doesn't seem right. I don't think it's as sensitive as it should be but I'm glad I got it. I assume it is less sensitive but I appreciate the reading. Please note, you should NOT do this test until 20+ minutes have passed since your last sip because the reading will be higher and not an accurate.

I bought this because I unfortunately got in some trouble for drinking too much and driving. Have an interlock system in my car and I use this to check where I am before I try on the “official” version. It works great and is very accurate at first, but after awhile the readings go off. They’re basically good for a few months before they screw up. I don’t want to send it away to get “calibrated” since it’s a fairly cheap device. It’s actually proved invaluable to me at its best, but a pain in the butt at its worst. It told me today that I had a .15 for one beer that I finished half an hour ago, but my car started just fine.

This was my husband's favorite Christmas gift!! (and I surprised him with a trip to Vegas for the following month). It was a big hit at our Christmas gathering as he proudly showed it off and allowed people to take turns. I took it as a novelty item and not very accurate. but after a week or 2 he took time to actually read the manual and understand how it truly works and what factors effect it. It's a great little gadget, and he's actually used it a few times to determine if he's driving home, or calling for a ride. You could actually save a life for $35!!!

Works well and is very accurate. I've had mine for well over a year and it's still good as new. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to know their blood alcohol content.

t anyone driving off until I knew they were legal. Didn't find out until after letting 3 people leave that it read .06 on me after 8 drinks. Took a shot and tried again 5 min later and blew .03 I realized I had probably let drunk people leave my house thinking they were good, when in reality the probably weren't. Lucky for 0 incidences but scary. Worthless product as far as I am concerned! Not to mention I ordered replacement mouth pieces that didnt fit. The company sent them together anyway. If packaged separately i would understand but came in the same package. Seems like they would have the courtesy to realize they didnt match and either send the correct ones or contact me. BACtrack get it together!!!
