I use it pre or post workout once a day. Note this is very hygroscopic, so u can NOT fill into capsules- they get wet over time. I keep aliquotes in small jars with silicone sachets and scoop up <1/2 tsp straight into my mouth. It is not tasty, but I dont mind it. Its good value for money for me.

Amazing product!!! I went without for over a week and could tell a huge difference in so many aspects! I was sluggish, didn't have the normal strength during workouts, slow muscle recovery, the list goes on....I take 3/16 of a tsp up to 3xday. In the morning right before breakfast and 20 minutes before I workout, I take this with 1/4 tsp ALCAR & 1/8 tsp R-ALA. After I eat, I take 1/4 tsp NAC. After working out I eat 1 egg, 1 slice of turkey bacon, and a tiny amount of a Beach Body recovery drink with 3/4 tsp of BCAA's. All of these supps I get from Bulk Supplements. I prefer to make my own stack rather than buy a pill with who knows what in it. This way I know what I'm getting, I save $$$, and this bag will probably last me close to 4 months since the smaller bag lasted me at least 6 weeks!! I usually take this 7 days a week. I'm female, in my 40's, and overweight so this has really helped me to push harder. I believe it also helped to reduce my appetite and combined with the ALCAR improved my mental clarity. I also take it with Vitamin B12 sublingual. You have to be careful and be sure to get a non-synthetic vitamin. If it says Cyo...then it's synthetic. Hope this helps someone!! Oh and when you get the bag shake it first to make sure all the product goes below the ziploc area and then seal that before opening. I made the mistake of not doing this and the ziploc part wasn't sealed. So, I got it all over me.

There is some clinical evidence that L-carnitine supplementation increases mitochondrial biogenesis and exercise endurance.At 64 years of age, I take a morning dose of approx 80mg L- carnitine, approx 100mg alpha lipoic acid and approx 70 mg Korean ginseng in combination with 1 serving of coconut milk (~14g of dietary fat.)Removing any one of these results in nearly zero overall effectiveness, but taken in combination they seem to have a significant positive effect on mental clarity and physical stamina, two things at this point in my life in chronic short supply.So far I haven't felt any particular dependency on them; skipping them just brings back the diminished capacity I have learned to accept with age. My intent is to keep the dose low as outlined above. Long term effects are difficult to assess however. The regimen appears to me beneficial in the 18 months I've done it.For the last week the L-carnitine from Bulk Supplements appears to be at least as effective as my previous source, but measuring such a small amount at a time is challenging. Less volume because of its purity is a plus though, imho. That purity and less overall cost are why I purchased it. As the L-carnitine and ginseng I have on hand is eventually used up, I sincerely hope I can rely on this new source for them as well. To all the fitness guys 40 and up, combine 1000mg of Carnitine, 2500mg of leucine, and 2500 to 5000mg of creating 10 minutes before your workout and notice a huge increase of energy that will result in lean muscle mass. I make my own pre workout protein shake that tastes like a cold brew or use this in any electrolyte drink (sugar free) since these ingredients are unflavored. I'm going to be 59 in 5 months and I've been into fitness for almost 40 years! Wish I would've known this decades ago but is still great for any age!

PACKAGING: The zip bag the bulk powder comes in doesn't reseal correctly. I had to transfer the content of the package to another container.CONTENTS- MIXING/TASTE: It mixes well with water/protein/whatever liquid you want to mix it in. I usually mix it in with my protein shake after a workout. 5/5- SMELL: I don't know what is producing the smell, but the powder smells terrible. I keep the container in a cool shaded area and it still smells bad. 1/5- KEY QUESTION: Would I repurchase?- YES, price point for the supplement is great. If you just want that bulk deal, I would give my $$ to these guys. But when things are this cheap, there's always a drawback, ie (the smell). If there wasn't such a terrible smell ... I would rate this higher. BulkSupplements is like the bang for the buck GAINS.

Added this to my pre-workout fruit smoothie and a few other (natural/organic) supplements. Been working out my entire life, read all the stuff about how men can't add muscle mass after 50 without steroids or TRT. Because God is great at 67 yrs old my workouts have gone beast mode. I am stronger now than when I was 30. Past 12 months: lost an 1.5" off my waist, gained 15lbs and added 2" to my pecs- 2" to my arms. You are what you eat so be careful about what goes in your body. That said, stay away from pharma and add what your body needs. 928lb leg press.
