5.0 out of 5 stars Reduce eye-strain and staring-at-computer headaches by at least 80%

    s. · May 16, 2015

About me: I wear soft contact lenses. I often spend more than ten hours at the computer in one day, and am prone to headaches. I am slightly prone to dry eyes. I got these glasses because I had frequent, severe eye strain-induced headaches.Sizing: I wear a woman's large hat. One-size-fits-all hats are invariably too small for me. These glasses fit me, but they'd be too tight if my head were any bigger.Smearing: Before I bought these, I read some reviews that said they smeared easily. I have found they smear exactly the same amount as my prescription glasses or sunglasses. Just have a cloth to wipe them off and maybe some spray, and you'll be fine.Case: These do not come with a hard case. I believe the company allows you to buy one, but I just bought a sunglasses case from TJ Maxx, which fits them perfectly.Quality: These are NOT cheap-feeling glasses. They are fairly sturdy, have a matte finish that doesn't get sweaty or sticky, and don't creak. I expect them to last for years.Functionality: When I wear these for long periods of time while using the computer, my headaches are reduced by at least 80%, especially those caused by eyestrain. Sometimes, I sit at my computer and forget to put them on until I realize I'm squinting (which I no idea I did!) and blinking to keep my eyes from drying out. Then I remember I have these, put them on, and -- immediately, I stop squinting and have less problems with dryness. They aren't magic -- staring at a screen for ten hours is never going to be good for you -- but they make an enormous difference.Price: I agonized over whether to get these because of the price. I figured I'd buy them and, if they didn't work, try to resell them. Well, they were worth the money, they really were. If I lost them, I would immediately buy another pair.Appearance: Yes, I do look dorky wearing them. You can't really see from the picture how silly they look. But the shape is clearly necessary for functionality, and you (and those around you) get used to it.Other uses: I've begun using these for watching television also, when my eyes are feeling bad. I find they help there, too.

My husband has been using these blue light protective glasses for a while now and couldn't be happier. Not only do they look great, but they also have a comfortable fit that makes wearing them for long hours easy. He liked them so much, I ended up buying a second pair! Whether he's working at the computer or just scrolling on his phone, these glasses help reduce eye strain and keep him feeling fresh. Highly recommend!

Didn't expect the slight magnification. Great blue light blockers! Really helped to relieve headaches from staring at a screen all day.

4.0 out of 5 stars May not be for everyone

    M.N. · January 16, 2015

Now, I know what you're thinking. These gaming glasses are a gimmick, Right? Well... About that.I've been using these for quite some time, And I purchased these after a friend mentioned I should try them out. Now, My eyesight is actually extremely good, I don't wear glasses nor do I need them, However I suffer from the usual eyestrain as well dry eye due to exposure, My right eye particularly gets dried out extremely easily due to a freak accident causing the top layer of my eye to be chemically burned, I'm lucky that the eyesight remained unchanged, But back to the review, And why I felt this was relevant.I stare at my computer monitor way more than I should(Asus VH236H), As well as all of my devices, And my TV. I would say I easily spend eight to ten hours a day looking at screens, For some time I found myself taking breaks as my eyes started to feel strained after a couple of hours, But my gaming side of me always has to come back for more. I purchased these just to see if they'd help, Or do anything to benefit me... In my honest beliefs, I do feel these help majorly in some games (Defiance, Halo, Battlefield, Specific maps on Call of Duty, Sanctum 2, Titanfall and a few others). You'll notice that I mentioned a few maps on Call of Duty, These glasses work under conditions where harsh colors cause more strain on your eyes than others. And this is also why I feel these help, But they don't help for everything. I feel if you're someone who experiences eye strain while gaming, That these may be worth checking out. These do also have slight magnification, So this could come into factor as well. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and I'm glad I decided to just throw a large sum of money at these for something so simple, However there's a chance you may not feel the same way. Everyone's eyes are very different, Which makes this a very subjective product to review.

Nice and comfortable with good FOV

I've owned a Gunnar MLG Phantom before and it really helps with eye stress when looking at monitors for a long period of time because my right eye was injured before, but the my problem with the Phantom was the lens being too small. And it does have a slight magnification that might not be for everyone but it helps with texts.Been using the Intercept for a few months and the lens is basically the same on my Phantom but much bigger and wider and doesn't look as " Gamery "? But it does still have a distinct difference from normal spectacles because of the amber tint, compared to my Phantom i would say this is way more suitable for me but one down side is that it might not feel comfortable with some headphones.
