5.0 out of 5 stars Great for conditioning, stop worrying about drool.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Anytime you go for a fitness 'gadget' you're kind of taking a gamble. But I was intrigued enough about the idea and put my faith in Bas and, so far, I haven't been let down. The trainer itself is well made, better actually than it looks in the photos/videos. The rubber is soft and very slightly tacky, feels like some sort of silicon, not old school rubber or even latex. This makes it very comfy to hold and it's pretty taste neutral. You don't feel like you're chewing on a tire.I haven't been using it long enough to speak to Bas's claims of curing asthma, but it has definitely increased the intensity of my conditioning workouts. It seems to encourage and even enforce 'mechanical breathing', the deep and forceful belly breathing you see from Russian kettlebell men or someone working long hours with a sledgehammer. For me that meant that, even though it was harder to breathe, I felt more engaged and therefore more powerful. I feel like I'm getting more results out of a shorter workout, and I actually feel better after the workout. That's obviously subjective and your mileage may vary.As for the drool in other reviews...well, you're gonna have a little drool one way or the other. I hold it fairly loosely in my teeth, but high up on the 'bit' so the device is close to my lips. With this method I haven't had much 'leakage', but when you take it out it's going to be dripping with spit anyway. I figure if you're worried about looking stupid from drool, you'd be worried about looking stupid with a big blue piece of rubber sticking out of your gob. The thing works. If you're a drooler, grab a spit towel and just keep working out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product. Lots of training options.
I’ve had this for a decade I think. Just now getting through my reviews. This is an absolute workout! I love Bas! I also have the BAS trainer fighting pad thing. Which I really get some good workouts on.
5.0 out of 5 stars Secret Weapon
For any athlete, it is bad to have shallow and dysfunctional breathing in your chest. I compete in Jiu Jitsu and I hate the feeling of being in a hard match and my chest just starts to feel heavy like my lungs cannot possibly get enough air. For any athlete, powerful lungs are important. The first thing I started to notice with this product is that I actually had to re-teach myself how to breathe, then I noticed my lower back, upper back, core, neck, hips and even shoulders are all tight and are restricting proper breathing. When I use this product I not only feel all of the muscles associated with breathing being worked but my lungs are also pushed to their limits with capacity and all of my tight muscles that restrict my breathing are getting stretched out and becoming loose. Now there are muscles all over my belly that are going through hypertrophy, they seem to be muscles that I have not worked to such a far extent before. My recovery time in Jiu Jitsu training is faster, I can go harder, I can push the pace and go beyond what I was capable of before and on top of that I can feel myself breathing differently to the point where I even feel some of those tight muscles on my torso getting stretched out hard. I’m definitely gonna keep using this until I have full mastery, I know my stamina will be so much better than it is now.
4.0 out of 5 stars Four stars for effort and quality, but not for me
Tried out this O2 muscle trainer and… well, it was a bit of a mixed bag. It technically works, but it felt a little gimmicky to me. I gave it an honest shot, but it just didn’t do much for me personally. Ended up tossing it—literally—it’s currently living in the trash can. That said, I can see how it might work for some people, especially if they’re into this kind of gear. I’ll give it credit for decent quality and effort behind the design, so I’m not going to torch it completely. Solid four stars for trying, but it just wasn’t my thing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 👌
Works great when improving yourself for whatever sports you're into.
5.0 out of 5 stars So important! Get this and use it!!
I do mixed martial arts, and Muay Thai and my coach recommended this. It’s been amazing to help me with my lung and breathing work.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product for athletes
I have been a big fan of Bas Rutten and find his product very good. I own the original and this new version. I love the new version we’re I don’t have to really remove it from my mouth to exercise my lungs. I follow his two breathing methods and this has increased my lung capacity for Brazilian jujitsu. I’m 56 and can keep up with all the young guys in my gym.
3.0 out of 5 stars It works but it's over priced and comes with extra fluff.
Bas Ruten sold me this when I heard him talk about fighters getting huge boost from it. I've been doing it 5 to 7 days a week for months now while training for a marathon. One thing that bothered me about it was Bas said just 4 minutes a day but I wasn't sure if that meant 2 minutes of exercise one and 2 minutes of exercise 2 or 4 of each so I varied a bout doing it from 4-8 minutes a day.I already was pretty good at diaphragm breathing so I can't really say for certain if I got any performance increase from it. But I do think focused breath work is good for everyone to do. I did notice a few times on my long runs my lungs felt tired and it was hard to take a deep breath from using this the night before. So I stopped using it 48 hours before a long run or threshold run.I started out with the #6 covered and moved to #5 after 8 weeks. I have no idea why it comes with 15 covers when it says most people start at #5. I also found I had to keep a towel between my legs when I did it because drool started dripping out after a few minutes. In short this will give you a small increase in performance and might help you learn to use your diaphragm but Bas definitely over sold it and there's cheaper option out there. Still I got this to support him, just a little disappointed.
It really works
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I was scepticall at first. After a week i did see some increase in my stamina but i waited one and a half month to be sure. Yes it does work! My stamina is a lot better. I can expand my chest more and funny enough after exercise too i actually can feel i use my back muscles when i brathe:) i cant wait what results i will get after a year or something. Highly recomended

Sporco e difettoso
Excellent. It really works.
I am almost 40 and for my whole life I have felt like my cardio system was the weakest link in my body. I am fine with low rep heavy lifting but whenever it came to running or boxing I felt like I would always be out of breath within a few minutes. Doing more cardio helps of course but I could not help shake the feeling that there was something wrong with me, that for all the effort I put into the cardio I should be performing better than I was.I heard about this thing on Bas' Youtube channel and I did some reading around. I was skeptical. It seemed to me like you could just get the exact same effect breathing through a straw. But I love Bas' personality and have laughed many times at his crazy Youtube videos so I figured I would trust him and give this thing a try.So basically this thing restricts airflow when you are breathing in, and there is a valve that allows you to breathe out as quickly as you want. So you are only stressing the inspiratory muscles used for breathing in. And because your outward breath happens so quickly, effectively you are straining your inspiratory muscles 90% of the time that you are breathing. The load becomes almost continuous. It comes with a wide variety of hole sizes for people of all abilities. The widest hole (#1) is almost zero resistance and would be suitable for a senior with breathing difficulties. As a dude with above average fitness I started at #6. From the very first session I could feel some soreness in the muscles around my ribs, which I knew could only be a good thing. It means I was going to become stronger! Having one way resistance versus breathing through a straw was a big difference. I don't know how to describe it but from the first few breaths with this thing I could tell something was different to continuous airflow restriction. The more sessions I used it, the more I felt soreness in muscles that I never knew I had. Muscles that clearly had never been trained before my whole life. I progressed quickly and I decreased the hole diameter by about 1 with each session. Now I am on hole #11, which is very significant resistance and I think I am going to stay here for a while. Hole #12 would be for literal professional athletes. Now when I am running or boxing I just don't feel out of breath. My heart rate still hits 170 like before but I am not gasping for air. It is really weird it almost feels like a super power! I can literally feel several mm thick of muscle around my ribs that I never had before my whole life. It feels awesome. I can expand my ribcage now to a size I never thought possible for my skeleton. It looks like the massive chest poses Arnold did in bodybuilding. This whole thing is mindblowing to me. I have been hitting the weights and bikes for more than 20 years and still nothing ever properly trained my breathing muscles all this time?! Why aren't more people talking about this?!The only downside is that I feel like it is expensive for what it is - basically some molded pieces of rubber. Also it smells/tastes weird and.. well... rubbery. But it works, and it works even better than I expected, and Bas is awesome so 5 stars. One reviewer was complaining that this thing caused him to lose his voice. I don't know what's up with that guy, but that sure as hell hasn't been a problem with me.
Just Great!
