5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
I received exactly what's shown in the listing. I've tried it a few times and I haven't gotten very far yet, only 22 but it's really nice and tough. Great puzzle ball.
5.0 out of 5 stars This one has really stumped my 13 year old son!
My son asked for all 4 Perplexus mazes for Christmas. He hasn't been officially diagnosed, but I think he has some Sensory Processing issues and has a particular bent toward being a Sensory Seeker. I try to let him bump, crash, jump and wiggle as much as possible, but sometimes I need him just be still. Somehow, these puzzles meet both my needs and his. One of his sensory seeking manifestations is constant stretching squeezing, and straining. He does this unusual thing with his eyes where he stretches his eyeballs far to one side because he says his eyes are tight. In fact, he says his whole body feels tight and describes it, saying, "My skin doesn't feel big enough for my body." The eye rolling and straining is near constant. When he got these mazes for Christmas, I suddenly noticed that while working to solve them, his body was completely still and his eyes were constantly focused. Granted, it doesn't meet his need to crash around like a bull in a china shop, but it somehow gives him relief, I believe, as he is able to focus on solving the maze and be distracted from those feelings of tightness. I'm no doctor, but this is therapeutic for him. He solved the other 3 Perplexus mazes fairly quickly, but still does them over and over. He's really stumped by this one, which I consider a big plus. He's not one to give up, and works on it daily. Similarly, he enjoys Rubik's Cube and Pyraminx. These puzzles are all worth every penny.Note: I've learned, with 5 sons, that they really do learn better while working with their hands. I'm a homeschooler, and used to get so irritated when I was reading aloud or helping them with math, when they fidgeted, tapped their pencils on a table, rocked back and forth in a chair, etc...I finally figured out that these actions can actually cement information into their brains. I'm personally not wired that way,but I'm glad I finally discovered that this is healthy for many children.
5.0 out of 5 stars Epic size, Epic difficulty, Epic fun
Epic is the biggest, most challenging and arguably the most stylish Perplexus created yet. I really like the sleek, predominantly white and blue design, which makes it look less like a children's toy and more like an art piece. I've seen some complaints from people that the limited choice of colors makes it harder to follow the track inside the ball, but I personally didn't have such problems. In terms of gameplay, Perplexus Epic works just like the Original and the Rookie versions, but with more, harder barriers. In this toy their number is 125, even though most of them are not that challenging. Because of its lengthy track and high difficulty, the designers of Perplexus Epic have added 3 additional starting points - at barriers 33, 56 and 91, so that you can practice each of the maze segments separately. This is a nice addition, since passing through the entire maze without failing even once is extremely hard thing to do. Epic, just like its little brothers, looks like a high quality, solidly built toy. However, I have to mention that it comes with a little sticker on top, stating that due to its "sculptural nature", it has to be handled carefully. I personally don't think that Epic is so fragile to worry about it, but probably some extra care wouldn't hurt. The only downside I've noticed so far is that due to the closeness between the track and the sphere, occasionally the marble gets stuck between them. Such issues never occur during gameplay however and can be easily managed by shaking the ball hard. Overall, Perplexus Epic is a great toy, which can entertain both kids and adults for many hours.
4.0 out of 5 stars Would be 5 stars but came scratched
I am absolutely obsessed with this game! The Perplexus ball has completely won me over, and now I’m on a mission to collect every version just so I can conquer them all. It’s not just a game—it’s a total conversation starter! Whenever I bring it out at parties, it instantly grabs everyone’s attention. No matter who you are or what your interests might be, you can’t resist giving it a try. What’s so captivating is how it pulls people in. The moment you see someone intensely focused on navigating the maze, curiosity takes over, and you just have to join in. It’s like a magnetic force—everyone wants to test their skills. Whether you’re hosting a get-together or just looking for a fun solo challenge, the Perplexus ball is pure entertainment in the best way possible. That said, I have to mention that mine arrived with some noticeable scratches, which was disappointing. While it didn’t impact the gameplay, it took away from the pristine experience I was hoping for. Highly recommend it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Your Friends Will Be Entertained For Hours!
Originally, our friend had one of these at a party and all the guys were hung up on it for three hours. Bought one for my boyfriend immediately to itch his ADHD brain. When I tell you he picks it up and goes at it for at least an hour at a time. It is easy to use for kids, teens, adults. A good game for anyone! Very very very difficult to beat.
