My repairman left about 25 minutes ago, after a payment from me of almost $500 for a new water valve.When he arrived and saw the situation, he asked immediately if I had ordered the filter from Bolo. Yes, I had—using the correct part number required by the Whirlpool ice maker.He explained these filters are often knock-offs, and because of the water flow, can cause damage.That is exactly what had happened.Another filter had already arrived under my subscription, and I went to Bolo to return it for a refund — and perhaps to ask for refund on the filter that had damaged the valve.Up popped a message that the return deadline was four months past.So it is, there will be no refunds on the defective filter that wore the label of what I needed but was not—the very same defective filter that made it necessary to replace a damaged valve.Buyer, beware.
