This is the "worldwide" version of the Aquamira Frontier - which means it has anti-viral properties for that nasty water you find overseas. It is the most expensive version, but you don't want to risk your life to save a couple of bucks on your lesser filters. This unit came with its case, straw, and bit - so you have the start of your whole filtration system. You may need to add hoses and other application hardware, but this was a good deal when I got it. I have not used it since it is an emergency filter, and I have added an internal spare filter to the kit. There are few better filters on the market, and the price reflects the quality.

For a lightweight and high level of filtration at a very reasonable price, this is the best product I have found. Easily connect it to your current bladder system or use it as a stand alone filter. Very adaptable.

Works well, but the flow rate is lower than similar hollow fiber inline filtration products such as those offered by Sawyer. I had trouble getting a steady stream to flow in gravity operation. I expected this difference, given the virus filtration rating (smaller pores).The device itself seems quite solid, and comes with quality adapter fittings to use with quick-disconnect systems.I really like the replaceable filter element and the ability to unscrew and open the housing. This makes it easy to clean and store the device after trips. I recently replaced the filter element after the unit froze with water inside.

The best inline water filter for viruses and bacteria! I use this in my kayak to drink water straight from rivers or lake! No need to pack extra water on my paddle trips! It includes different adapters for camelbacks or Inline tubing!

Bought this filter for my camelback hawg backpack. It fits inline great with the antidote reservoir. I used it this past February on a week long trip to Guatemala because I was a little worried about water quality. It was a little hard to get the water to start flowing but one filter was full it wasn't too hard. I had a great week and didn't get sick. Thanks

I Love the versatility , however I wish it was easier to do certain things like bag to bag or bottle to bottle. I was able to buy some additional parts from other manufacturers to make it work but I feel like aqumira should have included or sold parts that allow more options for their filters

The media could not be loaded. Check out the video --- in gravity mode it's drip drip drip sloooow. Video was made using Aquamira AQ67014 Series IV Bacteria 1,000 Gallon Filter in the Aquamira Frontier Max housing.Update 4-5-20 - So I ran 3 tests timing how long it took to filter one gallon of water. Test.1 using std compressed air fitting to attach 3/8” tubing to inlet of filter; 4’ -6” drop into filter; 1 hr 40 min. Test.2 drilled out the c.air fitting to max internal diameter; 1 hr 20 min. Test.3 Increased drop to 8’-4”; 1 hr 10 min. It was really surprising that adding almost 4 feet of additional vertical tubing to the inlet side of the filter had only a very minor impact.Update 4-7-20 So I replaced the 3/8” inlet tuning with 5/8” garden hose (except for about 1” of 3/8” tubing still needed to attach to the top of the cartridge) and the flow improved so it dripping so fast that it was almost a constant stream, however after about 3 hours the dripping had almost stopped. Then I noticed the filtered water had many many specs in it (water was from a creek). It appears organic matter plugged the filter to the point that gravity flow was not possible. Then I put an RV garden hose water filter on the line that filled my storage tank from the creek - yes that is done using an electric pump. Then I attached the Aquamira filter using the 5/8” feed line and a new virus filter and the flow from my storage tank by gravity was a full stream that filled a one gallon jug in 8 minutes. So the filter only works well with a water source that is low in foreign matter because my creek is not only not muddy but just looking at the water in the creek you would say it looks crystal clear although obviously it isn’t because tiny particals both get thru the filter and in short order plug it up.
