It’s compact enough to use as a carry-on, fits easily in the overhead bin, and rolls smoothly through the airport. Despite its size, it holds more than I expected and feels sturdy. The handle extends easily and the wheels glide well. Great choice for short trips or as a personal item on the plane.

My daughter and I are going to Europe on a three week trip across different countries and do not want to lug around a big suitcase. We need one small personal item and a carry-on. We decided we wanted to do rolling backpacks so we can throw on our backs over cobble roads, as well as roll when needed in airports. I got these five as they were both Low-cost (under $60) and had high ratings. Now I have to decide between five of them which two we are keeping. In order from left to right in the photos they are the Targus, Gotech, Bagsmart, Yorepek and Matein.As you can see here Targus is one of the smallest ones of the five and unfortunately also has wheels that don’t roll very smoothly so that one was out for our use.Matien was also one of the smallest ones and i like so much about it. But from the remaining four, it had the least smoothest roll, did not have an attached rain cover for the backpack and if you planned to take a laptop, it would have to be less than 15”, super small laptop backpack. So this one is out too.Down to last three:Gotech has the smoothest roll but it is also pretty small and slim and doesnt look like it could carry a lot. It is however the only one in which you cannot feel the wheels no matter how full it is. Its also the sleekest/prettiest. And less visible logo. I hate seeing logos. I want to keep this one but ultimately the material feels like pleather and likely will start showing signs of wear and tear quickly. That one is out.So by default, sticking with the Yorepek which appears extremely durable and more spacious, but with that, its also the heaviest. The others feel about the same weight. Yorepek is cool bc bottom-side has a small handle if there is a need to grab from bottom (think plane loading.) Tons of pockets. Unfortunately doesn’t open all the way.Also sticking with Bagsmart. Lots of pockets, and down the middle on all the other issues mentioned above.I just noticed, on of The final choices also happen to be the cheapest of the five as of this review, so thats a plus: yorepek.
4.0 out of 5 stars Versitle as a roll on and as a back pack
This was lighter weight than my old computer roller bag. I still find myself using it more as a roller than a back pack. It's a big improvement over my old samsonite roller bag. I only wish the larger back compartment had some pockets for more storage rather than just straps to hold clothing which I will never use. Placing things in this compartment really bounces them around inside. Tried to place a medium size refillable water bottle in the side netting compartment but the netting pocket is too short and too loose so the water bottle kept falling out. Still the best combo roller back pack avalialbe but the last two issue is why I gave it 4 stars and would love to see those suggested imrovements in the design.

I just purchased my 2nd Targus rolling backpack. I purchased my 1st back in November of 2019 and it lasted for 5 years. (The only reason I donated it to Savers was because I had received a similar one (different brand) as a Christmas gift from my employer in 2023.). Needless to say, the gifted one didn’t even last one year. The stitching started to come a part and the handle broke after 11 months. =(I used my Targus daily, for work. It held my laptop, binders, chargers, I-Pad, pens, pencils, keys, glasses, reusable water bottle, and my lunch. I would also use it as my carry-on luggage when I had a quick over-night or day trip.It was light-weight yet sturdy, and both the wheels and handle held up until I gave it away. The only thing that gave way from wear and tear was the side mesh pocket. (It had a little hole in it from constantly putting in and taking my keys out, and a couple of stitches came loose, but weren’t noticeable. Other than that, I loved my Targus rolling backpack, hence why I just purchased another one!!! =)

I saw this and for the unbelievable price tag bought it within a jiffy. Fits my requirement like a glove. Will hold my laptop, a change of clothes and couple of reading books. Sturdy build and will last me for couple of years. Yes the drawbacks are there - does not open out fully and does not look very compact, the trolley handle may not be of best quality and a bit shaky. overall delighted with this purchase. Keep it up Bolo!!!!
Useful, Sturdy & Durable
The media could not be loaded. I bought this bag as I'm in the collage and my new laptop is way too heavy to be carried in my old hand-held laptop bag, especially around a huge collage building. I'm utterly thrilled with this bag, the handle is sturdy and long enough, and I'm a tall person with long arms, So, long enough handle in any carry-on or suitcase is extremally important to me, for a comfortable use, and this bag's handle is acing that requirement of mine. The fact that this handle is also not only retractable but you can hide it in the zippable pouch when not in use is a amazing addition.The whole bag is truly durable, I'm using this bag for about 7 months now and no ware & tare of any kind is visible so far, and I put to this bag, not only my heavy, wide & bulky laptop, but heavy and extra long charger since my PPC is professional, and this bag holds also a few usb-cables, a mouse, a cooling pad and extra large mouse pad, a controller, Headphones, BL glasses, ID, recorder, LogBook, usb sticks, wallet & few pens, So it is quite a lot of different items, of a different shapes, length & weight, some less bulky than others but still, this bag is holding it all, and more if I want to pack anything else, and none of the items I pack to it, is ever misshapen or broken in any way.The wheels of this bag (at this point) are a little crooked / slanted, and I did not realized that, until I got to write this review, as in order to write the most accurate an honest review I inspected the bag in details as was writing this. I’m not sure when this happened, or if the wheels where like that in the beginning, but if I wouldn't inspect them at this very moment I wouldn't know about this ‘’issue’’ and they still working perfectly, and they never did NOT work perfectly, as seven months of constant use passed and they never felt ‘’choppy’’ nor they did stop the wheels from turning while they were in use, so it's a proof, at least for me, that this is not a real problem. After all they worked and still are working and nothing seems to indicate they would stop working at any point in the near future, and who knows, maybe they supposed to be like that, maybe they were like that from the beginning (a specific design to make the wheels work better, or be more resistant to a breakage) and I never looked, so I will never know. Beside that, the wheels have some wear & tear, but I consider it normal and it would be weird if after prolong use, they would look like brand new.Surprisingly the rest of the bag looks like new, no scrapes, so loose threads of material, all zippers work same good as in the beginning and a Velcro is also same strong as it was in the beginning.I really love this bag and I do recommend it for carrying books, Electronics, clothing, and using it for school or work, and for travel.I do include the picture of this carry-on for a better review experience, as well as the video, but in advance I apologize for the video quality, as I had to video-tape it holding camera at the same time and yet I was rotating and opening the pockets of this carry-on, which proofs difficult doing it on my own. Nonetheless, I hope this review helps you make your decision about buying this carry-on bag.
