About this item:
Power Stop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Upgrade Kit makes it simple to increase the braking power of your daily-driver. This Power Stop kit is engineered to provide a low dust & noise-free upgrade over your stock brake system. The Power Stop Z23 brake upgrade kit makes it simple to complete your brake job by including everything you need: perfectly matched drilled & slotted rotors, Z23 Evolution Sport carbon-fiber ceramic brake pads, upgraded hardware, and high performance lubricant. The low-dust ceramic formula brake pads are reinforced with carbon fibers to strengthen the compound. They are dust free, noise-free, and give you increased braking power without sacrificing everyday drivability. The rotors are cast using the finest G3000 metallurgy with strict OE tolerances - making them a perfect, bolt-on upgrade without the need to make any modifications. Precision drill holes allow for maximum rotor cooling. This keeps your brakes temperatures down during extreme operating conditions. Rounded slots help wipe away any gas or debris - keeping a clear contact patch on the rotor surface for safe, smooth braking. Silver Zinc Dichromate plating is applied to all drilled & slotted rotors, they not only look great behind your wheels, but to help prevent rust & corrosion. Get your Power Stop’s Z23 Evolution Sport brake kit and enjoy better, noise-free braking without that nasty brake dust!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tundra Brake Upgrade for 3rd Gen 4Runners (1996-2002)
I installed this kit as part of the Tundra Brake Upgrade for 3rd Gen 4Runners (1996-2002) on my 1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4. After subjecting these brakes to over 15,000 miles of use in all four seasons (temps ranging from -25F to +118F) through snow, ice, slush, misting and torrential rain, mud and dust on most every road surface available, including concrete, asphalt, gravel, cinder, dirt, sand, and challenging 4WD trails. There hasn't been a single instance in any climate condition, or on any road surface that left me feeling any trepidation while applying pressure to the brake pedal. Unlike the factory disc brake caliper/pad/rotor set that it replaced after approximately 10,000 miles of use, this Power Stop KC2324 brake kit instills absolute confidence with excellent brake modulation and stopping power. If you are considering this as a front brake upgrade for your 4Runner, please take the time to thoroughly inspect all the major components of your entire 13+ year old braking system and repair/replace anything that needs it at the same time (rear axle bearing seals are a common failure point and adversely affect the rear drum brakes when they fail). Consider flushing and bleeding the entire brake system with a DOT4 synthetic brake fluid, instead of simply bleeding the brakes and topping off the brake fluid.Keep in mind that the disc brake dust shields will require minor trimming to accommodate the larger 13WL Tundra calipers included with this kit and check to make sure your wheels will clear the calipers, or replace them with wheels that do clear the calipers. The durability of the pads is excellent, as there is approximately 75% material remaining (measured with calipers) after more than 15,000 miles of mixed use driving. In addition, there is very little brake dust coming off these pads, which helps to keep my wheels looking good! The instructions included with this kit are clear and well organized, especially the details regarding the proper break-in procedure for optimum long-term performance and wear.I highly recommend this brake kit as an upgrade to every 3rd Gen 4Runner owner I meet. In fact, they look so good behind my wheels that I am often asked about them before I get the chance to make a recommendation.Note: My 4Runner is frequently loaded with camping gear, extra equipment, kayaks, bicycles and occasionally towing a trailer, so I really appreciate both the reliable stopping power, plus the long lasting pads and rotors.
4.0 out of 5 stars this was my first time changing my own rotors and brakes and it wasn't at all hard
It's was time to get new rotors and brakes for my 2003 Tundra. I was getting the ol' warped rotor shimmy. Let me start by saying that I know little about quality rotors and breaks. And when it comes to things I don't know about I depend on reviewers. For an item like this I didn't rely at all on Bolo reviews. I researched other, more automotive specific websites, forums and online retailers to get an impression on which way I should go with my purchase. This set was at the top of a lot of peoples list. They've been installed about a month now and I'm very satisfied. The rotors went on easy, as did the pads. Stopping power feels secure even in brutal rain. The pads themselves seem to hold up well too. I'm noticing almost no brake dust residue.I recommend to all those first time brake changers, like myself, watch some videos on it. Read up on it. Then save some money and do it. The hardest part of this was jacking my car up and removing the wheel nuts. If you can do that it'll be a breeze.
5.0 out of 5 stars Huge improvement
Put these on our 2005 tundra and made a huge difference. No more steering wheel shakes. Stops nice and smooth and much better than the old ones
1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality Calipers. Customer Service did alright, though.
The media could not be loaded. Go buy refurbished calipers from NAPA or some other OEM source.I went through TWO sets of these. I installed the ones that came with this kit and I found out that one of the piston seals was damaged and leaking onto the brake pad. I spent hours troubleshoot and testing to be sure. Of course, you can't buy just one replacement caliper so after an email to Powerstop about the problem, they kindly set a brand new set, no questions asked. That was pretty cool. However, I couldn't undo the bleed screws! My best guess is that the enamel stuck them in place.I have heard good things about the brand, but this experience (and the drum brakes I also bought from them) have me understanding why most people just recommend OEM products.
5.0 out of 5 stars 2000 4Runner brake upgrade
Used this to do the tundra big brake upgrade and they seem to be working very well after 2000 miles, no more shaky steering wheel when braking and I believe this is a MUST if you run 35s just for safety as the braking distance is greatly reduced, make sure to do the break in procedure. The only issue I have is the red powder coating seems to be flaking and falling off on a few spots but nothing major.
5.0 out of 5 stars great product -- like new after 14 months
installed on my '99 4Runner. these bolt right up, as several answers to the questions, stated. if you get these, DO expect to perform some trimming on your dust shields. i also bled the brakes twice. i bedded the new shoes properly and they work as expected. the master cylinder, being sized to deliver pressure to smaller components, cannot make these 'grabby' how i was hoping, but they do work properly. to me, they feel approximately like the OEM brakes, but because they're new, they deploy evenly, with no pull to one side. these are appropriate for the 3rd-gen tundra brake upgrade, or TBU, that you read about on forums.followup after 14 months in service: still great, no issues. no squeaks, no uneven contact. all good.
2.0 out of 5 stars There over priced
Original calipers lasted 14 years I thought I was upgrading but both calipers have failed on me in just 4 years. The rotors seem to be good so far tho and look decent still. I thought more money better quality. Nope. Gonna be rebuilding them now with quality parts.
