I had no idea that the round shape brush would be so much better than traditional shaped brushes. I can feel that my teeth are cleaner than with my old electric toothbrush. An added bonus is that model is such a great value. One suggestion is to always wipe th whole brush and handle after every use. Otherwise, the debris drips down to the bottom and onto the base.

I used the other major brand rechargeable toothbrush for 20 years and decided used to try a round head for a change. This one does a great job cleaning teeth ...but it is very loud and doesn't shut off automatically after 2 minutes. The off button is hard to press and has to cycle through all different cleaning modes to turn off. I should have paid a little more for a round tooth brush that had a dedicated on/off button and a separate button to change cleaning modes. Also the battery life isn't as good as my other toothbrush.

Having used a Phillips Sonic care toothbrush for years, I was ready for a change. The reviews for the Oral B toothbrush convinced me to make this purchase. I love the sensor which alerts you every 30 sec to brush to another area of your mouth, the replacement heads are a lot more affordable than the Phillips brushes and it does a great job cleaning my teeth. It also has 3 different settings you can choose from. IIt is quite noisy but I’m ok with that.

I originally bought the Oral-B Pro 1000 for my husband, but after trying it once… I was hooked! I ended up buying extra brush heads just so I could use it too. The difference is unbelievable—my teeth have never felt this clean from a toothbrush before, even after flossing and rinsing. Buying mine next!It’s powerful but not harsh, super easy to use, and the built-in timer helps make sure you’re brushing long enough. Honestly, it feels like a mini dental cleaning every time.Highly recommend this if you’re looking to upgrade your brushing game. We’re both obsessed now!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I bought an electric toothbrush more than 8 years ago. It was an Orel B. Because the first toothbrush was good and lasted so long, I opted to buy another one. This time I didn't buy one exactly like I had, but it is similar. I am enjoying the toothbrush.

I have had a few previous electric toothbrushes and this one is just ok. My previous toothbrush was the Oral-B Pro 1500 which started rattling inside, and got progressively worse after just 3 years (I never dropped it). I hope this one lasts longer. Compared to the Pro 1500, this Pro 1000 doesn't seem to have as much power or maybe the battery is weaker. I know the Pro 1000 uses a nickel metal hydride battery (takes about twice as long to charge) while the Pro 1500 uses a lithium ion. I also read one review that said the motor in the Pro 1000 is not as powerful as the motor in the Pro 1500.According to the specs, the Pro 1000 has a pressure sensor that alerts you if you are using too much pressure. As with some other reviews, I sure cannot identify any such sensor in the Pro 1000. The pressure sensor in the 1500 is quite evident when you apply too much pressure.I'm not overwhelmed or underwhelmed with the Pro 1000, and will continue using it. And at $50, I know it is not a top of the line model. But I think it has good value for the price and gets my teeth clean. If it weren't for the good value, I would have rated it as 3 stars.UPDATED 06/20/2025 - After using it for a few weeks, I finally returned it and bought the Oral-B Pro 5000. The Pro 5000 is almost twice as expensive but is so much nicer. After exercising the battery on the Pro 1000 a few times, the charge went from 4 days to 5-6 days. Not a huge improvement, but at least 25% better. The biggest issue I had after that was the motor running slower every day after a charge. So each day, it would be slower than the day before. On the 5th or 6th day (before the light indicated that it needed to be recharged), it was running at maybe half the speed as after a full recharge.So after more research, I ended up buying the Pro 5000 model. After just a couple days with it, I am so much happier with this model. The Pro 1000 was like a Nissan Sentra and the Pro 5000 like an Infiniti. I just use the basic functions on the Pro 5000 (bluetooth and seeing my brushing habits on the app are just gimmicks as far as I'm concerned). I did downgrade it to 3 stars.

However, I have plenty of complaints about the advertisement which led to false expectations. Since I bought it in India from Bolo.in, the advertisement should have made clear (1) that the charger is built for 110 volts as stamped on the charger itself, (2) that it has an American plug, (3) that it is shipped form the U.S., and (4) that is comes with a brush as shown. Since I already own one that I bought in America and brought with me to India, I would never have bought a second one. I got it just to have a 220 volt charger.
Positive Initial Impressions
I bought this to replace an older Braun model that had way more features. My impression after two weeks:1. This has three speeds (modes, which contradicts the photo and description of 1 mode), giving you lots of cleaning options2. Battery holds up very well3. Plastic mostly yet grip is still good; lightweight so it does not slip4. Lower TCO compared to Oral-B iO Series, a selling point (price check the replacement brushes)Cons:5. Recharging takes a day (same as before)6. Comes with only one brush - this works out because you want to buy brushes that suit your need (plaque removal, soft, medium brushes).This strong rating is subjected to revision after I use it for longer.
