I used this juicer for the first time and it worked great! It was super easy to assemble right out of the box, which I really appreciated. I also love that it has two speed settings—perfect for switching between soft fruits and tougher veggies.The juice came out fresh and delicious. I’m not going to risk putting it in the dishwasher, but cleanup wasn’t too bad—just a bit of vegetable residue that took a little extra scrubbing. It does take up a decent amount of space, so make sure you have room to store it.Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase and excited to try even more fruit and veggie combinations. A great addition to my kitchen!

I saw fat, sick and nearly dead and thought I could try juicing. I'm 27 years old and I don't eat many veggies so I thought I could try this and be somewhat healthy. The price was a bit too much so I bought a jack lalanne juicer from Costco ($80). I loved it. I would get a good amount of liquid from carrots, apples, cucumbers, celery and even cactus. I couldn't get much out of spinach and kale even when I would roll it up like suggested.Cons- large, bulky, and about 5-8 minutes to hand wash. On a whim, I returned it and bought a Breville JE98XL ($150) from Bolo.WOW. It's a beautiful machine. but who cares about looks.Pros- smaller than the jack lelanne and you can just hear the power when you turn it on. It actually sounds louder than the jack Lelane power juicer.Juice content: I can't really tell if i'm getting more juice from it and the jack lelanne but i'm definitely not getting any less. BUT!!- I did notice the pulp extracted is a lot DRYER than the Jacklelane. I guess that means i'm getting more juice in my drink than in the garbage.clean up is WAY easier- about 3-5 minutes hand washing and rinsing. if you do this every day the time you save up really ads up.cons- Bolo.com keeps changing its price. I suggest you wait until it drops back down to $150 or buy it from zappos.com No reason to pay more for this when its only a 10% better than a JackLelane power juicer.In the end, Breville makes the better machine: smaller than the jack lelane, easier to clean up, and the pulp extracted is drier. I just wish the price would stay consistent. wouldn't pay more than $150 for it. at least the Jack Lelane power juicer was only $80 and well worth the price.March 1- 2012I have used this machine at least once a day since I purchased it fall 2011. Even my roommate uses it. The machine is still working well. Not a single functional problem.Aesthetically the plastic is pretty stained but I don't really care. I knew it was going to happen no matter how well I hand clean it.I have given up juicing leafy things like SPINACH and KALE- just kept getting tossed out no matter how well I would pack it in or what speed I used. Instead, I put some kale or spinach in a blender with orange juice and water. I juice the hard stuff: apple, carrots, cucumber, and celery. Then I just mix them both. Best of both worlds really.I'm still happy I got this machine...but I feel like I just got caught in a sales gimmick from "Fat sick and Nearly Dead". Instead I should have waited and bought a Blendtec or a Vitamax- with one of them I would be able to put all the veggies and fruits and blend it without losing the healthy fiber a guy like me needs.

Just received this yesterday. I had ordered a couple books for recipes and and read some blogs and found some recipes online before it arrived. It's hard to be credible when I say that I love this machine, having had it less than 24 hours. But it's just so easy to use! I feel like it's a gift to myself and my husband. (Just for info sake, we're 60ish, fat and very out of shape. This is a huge departure for both of us.)Here is my note to self. Don't buy the big bag of carrots from Costco. Absolutely nothing wrong with them, but that is a LOT of carrots to clean and store, along with the humongous bag of baby kale, the box of spinach, the bag of lemons, the 4 heads of celery. My fridge is full! At least it's full of good, healthy stuff for a change! I spent so much time at the sink cleaning produce I needed a nap!! ;-) So cleaning the produce is time consuming. But it's only time consuming when you first buy it. Once washed, it's quick and easy.My first drink was celery, carrots, kale and an apple. I can do this! It's fresh and different from anything I've ever tasted. Second blend was spinach, celery, apple and 1/2 peel removed lemon. That was really good! (The second was adapted from [...] I didn't have cucumbers, broccoli or ginger.) We both really liked the second one. Must be the lemon... William Sonoma has 30 Days of Juicing online. That's another one to check out.The machine -- it fits together so well. I hate to keep using the word easy, but it is. Easy to assemble, easy to wash, easy to make juice. Other reviewers have complained about the foam. The pitcher that comes with the juicer has a foam catcher. A little can sneak through as you get to the bottom of the pour, but if you set the pitcher down and let it settle for a few seconds, that takes care of it. Oh, there is a little spray from the pulp container when using the high speed. I just tossed a kitchen towel over it and problem solved. Haven't seen any drips.One thing that's noted in the manual is to make sure to get the metal filter basket gets into some hot water when you're finished. It has itty bitty teeth and a very fine mesh and I can see how it could clog if the veg dried. So I've made sure I did that and it all cleaned up really well.This is not the highest or lowest price of the Brevilles. Not knowing if we'd actually like it I stayed towards the lower end pricewise. I think we can do this. I see no issues with the machine.Cheers!--------------Update: It's a little less than a week. Here are some updates -- So, ok, go ahead buy the big bag of carrots. They go fast and taste good! We've been through 3 boxes of baby spinach, 2 big bags of celery, just finishing up the carrots, second bag of apples and lemons. (The lemons are a necessity to us. We love the tang that it adds.) We like spinach, don't like kale (yet.)I'm a little concerned about the spitting that comes from the cover where it meets the pulp jug. I've put a towel over it, but if I forget, I do get a green spray. Not sure how I'm going to feel about that a month from now.Fresh juiced OJ is amazing, but wait till you try a pineapple! Just by itself. Peel it and cut it into long chunks. Wow.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The amount of power and great reviews it has. Ease of disassembling:It’s quite easy to assemble though it’s a lot to clean. Power:Lots of power don’t even need to use the high power. Taste:Tastes very good almost no pulp leftover. Also there are some bits of apple that don’t get fully juiced but for the most part it works great.

I'm gonna squeeze some lemons...
Just received this product today and felt complelled to write a review after running through 3 different juice recipes. A very solid and attractive small appliance; gives the immediate impression of being durable and well made. It does take up a fair bit of space, but nothing that makes it unwieldy (and I have a very small kitchen). Very easy to put together right out of the box and, after a quick clean, it was off to juicing paradise. The first recipe in the user's manual was a hit with me and my daughter (4 Granny Smith apples, 3 carrots, and 4 pieces of celery). I threw in a handful of strawberries I had just to add a little more colour. It produced a full pitcher; enough for 4 medium sized glasses (with ice). The pulp was dryer than I expected. No mess, no splattering all over, and no dripping all over the counter. Clean up was very quick and easy; probably 5 minutes in total. When juicing ingredients that have a greater water content (e.g. tomatoes), the pulp was noticeably moister. But, that is to be expected. I can see myself using this regularly because of the ease of use and quick clean-up. It is moderately loud, but I wouldn't expect it to be whisper quiet. The neighbours have not complained about the noise, and my 4-year-old did not run and crawl under her bed. I can't address the reliability of this item, but having bought other Breville items in the past, I can only assume it will last for more than a few years with regular use and appropriate care. I would certainly recommend this item to others looking for a very good middle-of-the-road juicer.

Excellent experience. Amazing product. Everything as described. Loving it.Update 2016:Still going strong after almost 2 years of very frequent use. This product is amazing it juices everything that it is supposed to!! My wife and I have tried numerous combinations of fruits and vegetables and have loved them all. It gets your creative juices flowing. :) It is a great means of obtaining (natural) energy!! (great for people on a diet).No cracks or fading, the components still look brand new. It is easy to clean by hand (brush is provided); takes less than 5 minutes. It is very easy to assemble and dissemble. The suction cups at the bottom provide a good strong grip to the surface and makes it sturdy and keeps the juicer from wiggling during juicing. The input (mouth) of the juicer is quite wide and makes it easier to juice large fruits/vegetables without cutting them into very small pieces. I insert a compostable bag (which the juicer easily accommodates - no spills or leakage) in the pulp dispensing bucket before juicing which makes it easier to throw away the pulp. It also keeps the bucket clean.Once you start juicing all the big brand name juices don't taste as good. This is a great way of getting kids to drink healthy and to get off all the added sugar drinks/juices. Stay thirsty my friends!Definitely recommend this product.
