I realized at one point that hyped up, fancy packaging, and/or pricey makeup does not always equal good quality. I decided to give Shany a try after watching some YouTube videos about their eyeshadow palettes and viewing swatch pictures online. Shany is seriously an underrated brand, and I feel like Shany's eyeshadow palettes are on top of both drugstore and high end brands when it comes to minimal fallout while having decent pigmentation, blendability, and anti-patchy eyeshadows. This palette in particular opens doors from an everyday look to a glam look with warm colors, olive greens, subtle purples, and the standard silver to black shimmery foils and mattes. I appreciate the standard mirror and extra completely standard sponge applicators. Best of all, the price of 14-15 usd for 88 eyeshadows is a steal for the formulation and quality of these eyeshadows. I truly do believe that the Shany staff test out the eyeshadows before these palettes are sold.Pros:-Anti crack/non patchy-Creamy and buttery formulation-Very easy to blend-Color payoff noticeable without primer, even more noticeable with primer-A dupe for many high end eyeshadow palettes hyped up on social media- Makeup hobbyist friendly-Won't make your bank upset, especially if you're a college student like me-A wide variety of looks can be achieved with this wide range of colors and finishes (shimmery foils, subtle sparkles, mattes)Cons:I would say none at all, unless instant high pigmentation is a must for you. Some mattes take some minimal layering, but it is only minimal layering. I personally prefer this formulation because I like to control the intensity of matte colors and the formulation prevents fallout.I feel like Shany's eyeshadow palettes are great for makeup enthusiasts of all levels, as well as makeup professionals to theatrical makeup professionals. And Shany is the go-to brand especially if your budget is tight (like mine) but you want good quality makeup to use and experiment with!P. S. - Shany, please make some new eyeshadow palettes with more highly pigmented shimmery foils with whimsical/bold colors! That would be awesome as well!

I gave this item 5 stars for good reason! First of all, I was ...born before 1970, I'll own up to that... and asked for this as a Christmas gift due to 1. the VERY reasonable price and 2. the color spectrum. I figured it was a good thing to ask for from my husband-- if it turned out to not work for me, it wasn't too much $$ at stake. It worked out better than I thought, and also better than ANY 20-or-more-colored-eyeshadow set. I grew up in the 80s, so I've tried a lot of these. I am having more fun with this kit than I did with most makeup in my 20s. I mainly wanted to try out the greens and purples, and even though I do not look my age, have good genes, and stick to a beauty regimen every day of every year, 41 is 41.I have brown eyes, and was able to pull off even some of the brighter colors. For instance, the neon greens and even yellow. The violet hues (that are in no danger of being even partially blue) look great. I don't use mineral makeup, because I saw almost the first day I wore it that 1. it didn't show much on my skin, even the dark browns 2.what I did get to show up wore off fast, but worst of all 3. somehow it managed to accent any lines in my face I had. Not exactly worth being 3 times more expensive than regular makeup. The colors I have tried have been matte finish (if there are metallic ones, they are in the minority here--I think), so there's no danger of looking a little skanky (a little like the ones I wore in the 80s sometimes) as long as you don't use a ton. I was REALLY surprised that I could pull off the greens and yellows--though in all fairness maybe I should add I have some training as a make-up artist. Not enough so I could actually apply makeup to other women and do it professionally, but enough to know the basic things you do and do not do,some little tricks to get certain looks, and what looks good on me. Hint- invest in and use a set of brushes to apply all your makeup, toss the little lame mini-applicators -you know, the ones with a foam tip that come with eye shadow when you buy it in the drugstore and are an inch long I was lucky to discover this method over 20 years ago and would NEVER go back. The results are worth it.Anyway, if I wasn't on such a low budget right now I'd pick up a couple to give as gifts. The price is right, the packaging is elegant but practical (no danger of colors spilling over into each other, if you use the clear laminated cover). If you are young and only have a few year's experience applying makeup, watch a few tutorials on YouTube. I would recommend this product to others that want to have a little fun experimenting with colors and enjoy applying makeup. A quality product barely over 15 bucks that gives you so many options, stays where you put it, and then is quick to remove later even without a special remover for waterproof mascara. The brights didn't make my eyes water slightly when I used them under my eyes, and I can't say that for many other eye makeup products-including ones that cost double the price. After 35, I found putting my makeup on was just kind of in a damage-control mode, and it's nice to actually enjoy myself and have a little fun again doing this! Go for it.

I am so happy that I purchased this eyeshadow palette! I mainly bought it so I could use the matte colors, but I found that I like the shimmery ones as well. Yes, as others have mentioned, the colors individually are pretty small. But I would rather have an assortment of colors like these than larger palettes of colors that I will only use maybe only half of them. The wide range of colors on this set is amazing! It makes me want to purchase the other palettes, especially now knowing that I love the quality. Even the light colors show up well on my eyelids. This set makes it fun and easy to experiment with colors. I have hooded eyes so finding eyeshadow that looks good is tough. But this set is a knock out for me. The colors are very will pigmented and they stay on all day. Not to mention, even though the colors themselves are small, they will be lasting me for a very good long while. Also (and this is very important to me) the palette box itself makes for very easy and CLEAN storage! There is nothing more annoying to me than messy makeup everywhere. My eyeshadow is in one container (I can now get rid of my old ones!!) and my makeup area is very clean! It snaps tightly closed so if I ever need to take it somewhere with me I know that the eyeshadow will be safe inside. Though I havent used it much because I haven't had much of a need to, I love the big mirror inside too! It will be great if I'm ever in a pinch. Will be purchasing from SHANY again, as well as exploring what other products they have!

It's a great palette though - I love it! Pigment is excellent and the variety of shades is really useful. I particularly like the 'darker' tones of each colour. I use them with benefit stay don't stray primer and they don't budge all day but don't stain your skin either. Great.
Applies well, beautiful colours
Generally I find cheaper eyeshadows to be a waste of money. They tend to be thin, never applying correctly even with multiple applications. However Shany seems to work a little better. Not as great as the expensive stuff of course, but this applies evenly and the colour is fairly even. Works GREAT with an eyeshadow primer - I've tried several and it seems that any will do. The case is well made, and the colours are very pretty, with lots of options. If you're looking for a wide range of colours without having to spend a fortune, this is a great product.

so many colors and great price if you arent ready to buy an expensive palette. worth it for experimenting. easy to wash off. colors last a while, would recommend using primer, having a good base, maybe setting spray.
