I've used white palette paper for years. Then I discovered how the color gray under my oil paints brings them into view. Gray provides better color accuracy since it's neutral and does not reflect light. Once I found this palette paper, I knew I'd not return to white.

This palette is so handy when painting. I don't use a lot of paint, so very little is wasted when I finish up for the day and simply tear off the sheet and throw it away.... moving on to the next at the next sitting. So convenient.

I’ve used Grey Matters disposable palettes for years as part of my portable Plein air set up. Since I use alkyd oils that dry faster when I travel for Plein air landscape painting, the paint dries out quickly, so no use saving paint lumps on heavy glass palette— I start fresh with a light weight new grey matters palette each day. Grey palette color is important for judging values when mixing oils. Easy to clean up. Affordable.
