So far I've only worked thru the first video. I find the video easy to follow, working thru stretching & practicing the various moves & at the end of the video putting it all together into a simple dance routine. The twins perform the practice part of the routine in regular workout wear and then get dressed in full costume for the dance routine. Love the costumes! Be sure to wear a hip scarf even while you practice, you'll feel more like a dancer! The twin's performance is elegant & tasteful.Bellydance is an earthy, sensual, womanly dance. I have seen some performances that are over the top in deliberate sexual provacation. Not the case here.I even encourage my 13 yr.old daughter to dance with me with this video. Seeing many of the moves performed from a different angle helped me "get" it a little easier. This is not a "cardio workout", but I do feel more supple, limber & toned up after perfoming the moves.I also have noticed that my posture is improving & I feel more graceful.Good basic instruction for beginners, advanced dancers may find this too simple for them. I consider it to be a good supplement in addition to weekly class am looking forward to moving on to the next two videos.

These dvd's are teaching me how to bellydance despite the fact that I have been a klutz my entire life! I shimmy, I wiggle, I do these things called hip drops that make my rear end feel like it's going to fall off, and I get to wear these gorgeous chiming hip scarves while I do it! The lessons actually last a long time, teach you how to do all the moves it takes to do a choreographed dance at the end, and it feels like you've just started when it's all over! Plus, this isn't a workout video, but I've found myself breathing hard on a regular basis, especially during those hip drops! I love this series, and although I'm still on the first one, I'm going to make it through them all, even if it takes till I'm 80, giving me 40 years to get my act together! Besides the excellent instruction, the set is lovely, the twins are beautiful, the narrator sounds like a sweet kindergarden teacher giving you directions and encouragement (this starts to get on my nerves a little after a while), and once you do the dvd a time or two, you get the moves and narration syncronized. I have found that as soon as I start thinking about it too much I can't do it anymore, so as I've gotten to know the dvd, I've lowered the volume. Anyway, this is well worth the money, although I've noticed that buying hip scarves is addictive (I have 7 now)!

May be the best you can get short of classes.I live in an area that up until a few months ago had no middle eastern dance instructors within less than a 1 hour radius. Since I didn't have a car, I couldn't take the weekly classes one hour away or more. I had only taken one, four hour workshop and had a few lessons from my friend and her mother previous to getting this set. Veena and Neena really helped me out. The warm-ups were relaxing and easy and once you got to learning the moves each one was shown briefly so you could see what you were going to learn, then broken down, then repeated at an increasing pace. I found that the voice over made it easier to concentrate than having them talk to you directly, as specialy because there were two of them and switching around would have been distracting. At the end of each tape you are taught a simple choreography which is first broken down, then rehearsed at it's normal pace with the music, and lastly Veena and Neena perform it in costume. I liked the music, which I don't think sounded like porn music or whatever that other person said. It sounded middle eastern, and the tempo of the music always matched what was going on and set a pace for you. Overall I thought the videos were not too short or too long and easy to learn with practice.A few months later I was pulled up to dance with dancer Suspira at the Marakesh. After her show she came to my table and complimented me, and even seemed amazed that most of what I learned was through videos! When I began classes a few months after that, my teacher was also impressed and I found that the moves being taught in class were easy to learn because I already knew the basics and was already loose and flexible, which is difficult for most beginners because they are not used to moving that way. This set is a good jump start, but if you want to go anywhere with bellydance make sure to take classes.

Fun for beginners . I bought this thinking it was the workout fitness set but it still is fun and I get that it did have some benefits for fitness even though it doesn’t seem to be specifically for fitness.

I have done the first disc a few times and find their teaching style and the coreography to be far superior to another belly dance DVD I had used. They break up the steps based on part of the body so that you can easily find the move you want to practice. I have done a live belly dancing class before and I find some of the instruction in this DVD superior.

このビデオはベリーダンスを踊りなれている方には物足りないのではないかと思います。ただ始めたばかり、これから始めるという人にはとてもオススメです。ウォームアップからはじまり、肩、指先、腰の動きなどひとつひとつを丁寧に、繰り返し教えてくれます。英語がわからなくても動きがスローなのでついていけない、ということはまずないと思います。最後にはこのビデオで教えてくれる全ての動きをまとめ、ひとつの簡単なベリーダンスを振付けてくれる感じのビデオの構成になっていました。全てをきちんと踊り終わると、どっと汗がでてきます。日ごろの運動不足の解消にも良いと思います！

Veena ＆ Neenaのシリーズを既にお持ちの方が、このビデオ購入にあたって気になるのは３本のビデオタイトルではないでしょうか。私もBasic Danceを持っていたので同じビデオが重なってしまうかしらと気になっていたので・・・このセットはBasic Dance、Beyond Basic Dance、Mystic Danceの３本です。残念なことに、私の場合はBasic Danceが重なってしまいましたが、内容的には３本共が違うタイプのベリーダンスでとっても楽しめますよ♪個人的にはBeyond Basic Danceが気に入っていますが、テンポが速いので、初心者の方はBasic Danceを先にされるのをお勧めします。
