(Use a pantyliner, it's a little messy) If I catch it early, I only need to use it two nights, 3 max. Worth every penny!

I was so frustrated dealing with reoccurring yeast issues and having to take fluconazole every other month or more it felt like, as now it also seems to be triggered by my period starting and it never used to be. I knew there had to be a more natural solution. And after only two days of using this (only once daily before bed, not even twice a day) I already feel 90% relieved. So happy I found this and read everyone's amazing reviews. I read the only downside was the messiness of it but I keep the box of suppositories in the fridge and take one out before I use it and there is zero mess because it firmed up in the fridge. Run, don't walk, to try these. You will be happy you did.

I can't attest to the old formula, as I've only ever used the new. I love them. I was already making pretty much the same thing at home, in my "lab" AKA kitchen. I was using coconut oil, tea tree oil, boric acid, oregon grape root, goldenseal and Pro-B. Yes, all mixed together and all as a suppository. I was using 600mg capsules of 100% boric acid for a time, but they began to cause irritation and eventually bleeding. (All this as a twice weekly maintenance regimen AFTER using boric acid for two weeks, only to realize it wasn't exactly gone, then for another week, then I said to heck with it and used it for a whole month. So. 7 weeks of boric acid. I have the vagina from somewhere between the 6th (flaming pit) and 7th (boiling blood) circle of hell and have been battling this same infection, c. parapsilosis, for almost an entire year now. Just say no to long term antibiotics) These wonderful little things are a blessing. I was sick of and starting to slack on my maintenance regimen out of boredom from mixing, forming, wrapping and freezing my own. The smell of these aren't as offensive as some are making it out to be. It doesn't smell like vomit or gasoline, and you can't smell them from a mile away. It has a slight scent of coco butter and tea tree oil only if your pants are around your ankles. I tend to wear pants most of the day, so the smell doesn't exist until I'm no longer wearing pants. Then and only then do I think, heck yes, the girlfriend smells like... lotion!? Sheesh. I find that the tea tree oil and boric acid are mixed in at exactly the correct amount as to be effective but not burn. The coco butter is rather greasy, but no more than coconut oil, which many people just adore as a personal lubricant, myself included. It coats and protects the lady labias from further irritation, burn, itch, whatever ails all your flappy lady bits, whilst delivering powerful skin healing herbs. All this, done au naturale. What more could you ask for? Besides cutting sugar and carbs from your life for a bit, adding a probiotic, and a dang good sense of humor, Vitanica Yeast Arrest is all you'll need for ridding the yeast beast for good. Happy healing. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars NOT just homeopathic, read the ingredients!

    H.T. · September 19, 2016

Don't be scared off by the "homeopathic" label - THIS CURES YEAST INFECTIONS. I don't know why they insist on labeling active ingredients as inactive. It's as if they want to pretend "homeopathics" are the only thing that makes this product work. That is NOT the case AT ALL and I'm deducting a star for it, because seriously.Boric acid, neem oil, and tea tree oil are all REALLY SUPER POWERFUL INGREDIENTS to naturally address yeast infections, even individually. Combined, I can see why they do wonders. I fully intend to someday make my own suppositories using these three as ACTIVE ingredients so I can stop paying so much for this stuff. Additionally, these contain probiotics (lactobacillus acidophilus) which help significantly in fighting the yeast and restoring balance. "Inactive"? I think not!Someone asked how much boric acid is in these. The box doesn't say (it should!), but it's the first listed of the inactive ingredients, showing there's more boric acid than cocoa butter in these. From what I can tell the cocoa butter makes up the bulk of the suppository's structure, so I'd say that's a fairly significant amount. I can also attest that there is definitely enough boric acid present to cause a burning sensation. The "good" burning sensation happened when I first started taking them and my yeast infection was severe. It would burn when the medicine reached the entrance. Now it only causes pain when the suppository shifts downwards, more of a cramping pain. If this product is causing a "bad" kind of pain, try making sure it's pushed up as high as it can go. I find sometimes it migrates downwards. Also, while boric acid is safe for the vagina it's TOXIC to ingest either by mouth or by open wound. This means it's important to avoid both oral and rough sex when taking these. I'm pretty disappointed they haven't included the appropriate warnings on the label. While they do say "If accidentally swallowed, seek medical help or contact the Poison Control Center immediately" the impression is to do so if these are swallowed like a pill. Most people don't consider oral sex to be swallowing medicine. Be careful!Okay yes, this stuff is MESSY. I've learned a few tricks to dealing with it. First, refrigerating it before use is an absolute must. It becomes literally impossible to get it up there otherwise. The good news is it doesn't have to be stored in the fridge all the time, making it easier to stock up. The packaging helps it hold its shape; I've accidentally stepped on these when unrefridgerated and they're none the worse for wear. Just make sure they're cold before you attempt anything with them and you'll be golden.Second, get finger cots. They're like little condoms for your fingers. I use Bertech Nitrile Powder Free Finger Cots because my boyfriend can't have latex around him (note: Vitanica Yeast Arrest itself is NOT latex safe). Without finger cots, the neem oil stinks up my finger ALL DAY. I don't know exactly how much is in there, but it's pretty powerful stuff and the odor does not easily wash off. Finger cots keep my finger clean and make the whole process easier.Third, yes, you need to wear panty liners with these suppositories. I have heard of using tampons to keep the medicine in or even as an application tool if going the DIY route with suppositories, but from everything I've read it's not a good idea with yeast infections because it blocks ventilation and the juices from flowing. I tried it anyway a couple times and I could feel it was a step back. Keep in mind that during periods is the MOST IMPORTANT time to be taking these, and if you're used to tampons or a cup like me you might not be prepared to use pads alone for a heavy flow. I highly recommend stocking up on maxi pads in advance. My doctor is the one who recommended Yeast Arrest to me, after weeks of just oral caprylic acid (Biotics Research - Caprin) and a no sugar diet not working. I was skeptical, but it worked. It worked so well that I WILL NEVER AGAIN NOT HAVE THIS ON HAND. So much suffering could have been avoided.I'm not sure how much the homeopathic ingredients contribute to this product working, and I don't really care. I'm annoyed at the labeling and definitely deduct a star for that ridiculousness, but I know the "inactive" ingredients work awesome and that's enough for me to keep buying it. If you have a yeast infection, this is definitely the suppository you want. For those concerned about expiration date, mine have been about 2 years until expiration. Plus, each individual suppository is labeled with that batch's expiration date, which I find particularly helpful.I paid full price for this product (repeatedly!) and had no incentive to write this review beyond the desire to be helpful to fellow shoppers. And, while I complain about the price, $15.95 for a 28 pack is the best I've found and it's fair for a product that compares to pharmaceuticals in effectiveness.
