Once you get the holes all drilled it is easy to install. It takes awhile to get all the holes drilled due to the size of them. The rest is a breeze to do. The lift worked perfectly & the tailgate can be raised & lowered with one finger. It looks nice on the trailer & customer was very pleased with it. The double springs are very tough & should give years of service. Worth every penny.

Works like the video , instructions real good and clear. I was a little sceptical about them working with a pipe railI asked before purchasing and was told it will work and may have to buy longer bolts, which I did do. End resultfit like a glove , works great a real back savor. The price was fair and delivery was fast.

These are great and just what I needed as I found as I got older that getting that big metal tailgate up was a challenge. Fitting on a double axle trailer like mine was not easy as you can't fit them right at the back as recommended as the center bolts align with the curved part of the wheel arch mudguard. After fitting I had to cut slots in the trailer frame so the cables didn't fray. Now they work great. Only negative is I was disappointed that they don't come with plastic plugs for the front of the tube. You can get them from Bolo, but for the price paid this seems petty and cheap. DO NOT go for the non-genuine ones - a friend did and they don't work half as well as they only have a single spring, are noisy, jam and don't provide as much lift. Overall I love them and would recommend.

I like the ease of lifting the loading gate up and down. I used only one lifter because other members of our UTV group with this product have disconnected their second Gorilla lifters because of the combined strength of the two lifters making lifting a bit too easy and rapid closing. Mine requires a little assistance to lift but is still quite easy. I am glad to have it. However, I recommend a design addition that is needed to make installation more versatile. The mounting instructions say to mount the rear tube at 1/4" from the end of the top rail(pic 3)(I assume to avoid cable abrasion with the top rail when the gate is down). That won't work with my trailer because it uses an end post of 1-1/4" by 3" wide tubing, making the mounting bolt fall within the tubing and thus not accessible for the mounting bolt position provided in the lift tubing.I adjusted the installation by drilling a new mounting home at 4-1/4" back from the end of the Gorilla tube and then squaring the hole for the carriage bolt head - then elongating that hole by 3/4" to allow the long mounting bolt to be installed in that hole(too long otherwise). This modification should be standard in the product to make it usable in most any mounting situation. Also, I don't understand why plastic end caps for the front of each tube set are not included with the tubing. It is costly to have to order and ship these items.

I thought I did not get all the hardware for my GORILLA LIFT 2 . I reached out to the GORILLA LIFT. the nicest lady called me and suggested where I might locate it. Me, being old and not too sharp, couldn't find it. This nice lady said she would put the missing hardware in the mail today. Well, later, I found it! Got everything installed and it works GREAT!Bottom Line...GORILLA LIFT went over and beyond with their service even thought it was my mistake.

My back is happy 😃. This lift system for your trailer tailgate is incredible. I can lift my 300lb gate with two fingers now. The only thing I don’t like is not being able to fold my gate flat onto the trailer because of the way the connections for the lift cables stick out too far on the gate to clear the side rails. I also had to cut out a bit of the end of the trailer rails so the cables wouldn’t rub.

The media could not be loaded. I am so happy I made this purchase. Will save my back wear and tear for sure. While the instructions were ok they are a little vague. I like pictures so had to look up install video otherwise may have had to redue some steps. I hope they decide in the very near future to put 1” as well as 2 1/2” bolts in the assembly package. Trailers in general have wheel wells and frankly I can’t believe no one mentioned this in any reviews. Those areas take a much shorter bolt. Good thing I have a treasure chest of tools. I had a cutting wheel & Tap & Die set to rethread the bolt after cutting at 1”. This added about an hour + to my project. No biggie as I know it’s “Always” something so I planned the entire day thinking it would take me 2 - 2 1/2 hrs and actually took me a bit over 4 hrs. Honestly I only needed one of these installed. When I put the second one on it pulls the gate up. The product is made too well in that sense. Since I had it installed I just assembled it very slack. It’s littlerally no effort to open or close. A nudge and it about closes itself. No more moaning and groaning after a long day at work bending over that last time to lift that god awful 75lb floppy gate. Great product with only mention of the additional (8) 1”-1.5” bolts just to address any wheel wells that require a much shorter bolt as most people don’t just happen to have a Tap & Die kit & grinder with a diamond cutting blade laying around. Charge $15-$20 more to cover their costs and people won’t have to go to extremes or make a trip to ACE hardware. Well done Gorilla Incorp!

Ramp springs
It’s a good tailgate lift helper , however I’ve had to replace the both cables over the years ( about 6) , but it doesn’t allow me to lay the ramp down on the deck now
