I gave Coffee Masters a bad rap on my last review because we got two shipments where the coffee beans were dry and light brown. See below. I decided to give them "one more shot" because we love this coffee so much. I am pleased to report that the last two shipments were like the original when we first started buying it..... Nice and dark and oily....... and perfect caramel flavor. It was great to have to wipe out my grinder again due to the oils in the beans! We have never had other manufacturers version of caramel flavored coffee that compares to this! We must have gotten a few bum bags. Stuff happens. Way to go Coffee Masters!---------------------------------My wife and I discovered this coffee at a Bed and Breakfast several years ago. When we first started buying it, it was the best of the best. It appeared to be dark roasted and was nice and oily. I used to have to brush it out of the grinder due to the oil and it was fabulous. In a previous review, I had given it 5 stars. I have not confirmed with Coffee Masters, but it appears they have changed how they roast and process it. In the last 2 shipments, it appeared to be lighter roasted and the beans were dry. Unfortunately, the flavor suffered as well. It is not nearly as rich and aromatic as it used to be. Sadly, I don't think I would purchase it again, unless they change back to the way it was processed before.

Love this coffee. Only problem is that it seems as though their staff can't get the right labels on the boxes. For the second time within a 6 month period of time I have gotten the wrong flavor in a box labeled as the right one. Time before last it was a cinnamon hazelnut flavor. Pre ground. I always get whole bean. This last time it's chocolate mint, already ground. I can't stand hazelnut anything, I am also not a big fan of mint and chocolate combined. It just seems that lately things aren't as well run as they used to be. I've been a loyal customer for over 5 years. Thats a lot of coffee. I recommend checking your package immediately to make sure it's the right flavor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious coffee

My husband is the coffee lover in our family, and he ordinarily doesn't care for flavored coffee. I'm just an occasional coffee drinker. When I read the description and other very positive reviews of this coffee, I thought we'd give it a try and am so glad we did. We absolutely love it. The beans are beautiful and glossy when you open the package. The aroma when grinding the beans is fantastic. As other reviewers stated, the flavor holds up to brewing; this is one of the few coffees we've tried that tastes as good as it smells. Guests in our home have raved about this coffee and we have been asked repeatedly where it was purchased. The price with Subscribe & Save is close to what we'd pay in the grocery store for beans of lesser quality. We are repeat customers, and I suspect we will be for a very long time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Weak, but tasty!

    G.L. · June 22, 2012

This product met my expectations very well. The flavor wasn't quite what I expected, however. I expected a cinnamon flavor with subtle hints of hazelnut and vanilla. Instead, I found that all three flavors are pretty evenly distributed. The end result is a cacophony of flavors which is very powerful and distracts from the natural coffee flavor. The beans themselves are rather small. Because of this, I think, the coffee is rather weak. I find myself having to use 30% more coffee per pot than with my traditional coffee beans. The cup, when poured black, has a very weak color to it, if you add creamer the look is very reminiscent of tea with milk. When I first tried the coffee I was very unhappy with the results. However, after tweaking the amount of grounds I use (as well as increasing the coarseness of my grounds) I found a product that was palatable.Would I buy it again? Probably not. However, I can see many people who dislike strong coffee truly enjoying this.

    1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed...again.

My wife and I were looking forward to a great cup of Highlander Grogg after all the great reviews, however, the flavor of this coffee was very disappointing. I have been drinking various Highlander Grogg coffees since the early nineties and this is not it. The HG I have come to know has a very recognizable caramel-butterscotch-rum-nutty flavor. The coffee beans are over-roasted and taste like burnt nuts with not a hint of the other before-mentioned flavors. I was also disappointed with Coffee Bean Direct's version of HG. So far, only Grounds For Coffee and Cameron have the right recipe. We would have given it another star had we enjoyed drinking it even a little bit. The search goes on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing and reasonably priced

    C. · March 14, 2018

This is probably my favorite reasonably priced coffee on the market. This isn't blue bottle, but it also isn't 25 dollars for 8 ounces. It doesn't taste like inexpensive coffee, and even some of my friends who are coffee snobs comment about how good this is when they have a cup.If the caramel kiss flavor is a bit too much, cut it with some premium unflavored beans. I find that 3/4 caramel Kiss, and 1/4 philz Canopy of Heaven (which we will someday be able to get on Bolo...I hope) makes a cup that will blow away even your most snooty friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good At The Beginning

    J. · January 4, 2013

I have been a lover of anything caramel all of my life and that's many decades. I liked this coffee at the beginning as it had a good caramel taste. However, toward the end of the fourth bag I was getting burned out on the flavor. It just got to be overwhelming day after day and I was looking for a change. I'm now buying their vanilla nut creme coffee which is good. (I would bet that mixing this caramel coffee with their vanilla nut creme would be absolutely delicious.)So, I gave this coffee three stars because it's good but you might find yourself looking for a change, too, after a while.
