5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a good clipper

    g. · March 1, 2025

Pros: Very sharp. Cuts very cleanly. Seems well constructed to last a long while. The design gives it pretty good leverage for hard nails. This is the best and only one I've tried that cuts equal to or maybe even tops the old Gem brand clippers that I still have from the 70's. The Gem clippers still work great, but I needed a clipper for travel and those Gems are like heirlooms to me, heh.Con: (minor) - no built in file. I know many people use a dedicated nail file or emery board instead, but the the built-in was usually good enough for me. Not a big deal, though - in fact, the first time I used these, the clipping were so clean that I didn't have any rough edges that need filing.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality Fingernail & Toenail Clippers, Work Great & Reasonably Priced

    R. · July 7, 2025

Bought the Seki clippers (SS-106 for fingernails) and SS-107 for toenails) because of the overwhelming positive reviews. They work great! Probably most people don’t give much thought about fingernails and toenails clippers. But once you get these reasonably priced, extremely well made, easy to use (and nice looking, it’s funny even saying this) you’ll wonder why you put up with your old clippers for so many years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Nail Clippers I have used.

    G.I.I.C. · September 21, 2015

I never have put much thought into what nail clippers I use. I always purchase a descent pair from Wal-Mart or similar store, and they get lost or dull, or the handle comes off (trash). That is the typical thing I think with nail clippers, people have come to think of them as disposable.I got tired of crap nail clippers, so I decided to invest. I love stainless steel. It is easy maintenance, can be resharpened, and lasts forever. I have SS cookware, and love it (just learn how to care for it and use it). These nail clippers are very similar.Upon receiving them, I was very impressed. I did expect them to be a tad larger, but they are perfect for all uses, but don't compare these to the typical large toe nail clippers. They are finger nail clippers, but very well made and very durable. The handle on top is removable, but has a stainless steel pin (along with everything else being stainless steel) and will not be popping off anytime soon accidentally. These have been used a couple of times now, and seem to have a slightly different feel. If anyone uses some cheap knives vs very well made knives, then these two items relate. Cheap knives often feel extremely sharp, but get dull fast, when high quality knives just feel a bit different, and the edge stays sharp much longer. These clippers feel like a very well made knife blade. The edge angle is another thing that can make the sharpness feel different. I am not sure of the angle on these, but they are able to be resharpened, which I will be doing myself with my universal sharpener. I will most likely put a fine belt on and keep the edge as flat as possible.Wonderful clippers. The price is more, but the quality and durability is there.

5.0 out of 5 stars A smooth clean cut!

    T.R. · September 1, 2025

This is the second seki that I own and I bought it because it was slightly smaller than the one I had before which seemed like it would be better for clipping my finger nails with. Overall, the quality is really great. I do wish that it had a small file on it like the other seki does, but this is not a deal breaker for me. It gives the user a nice clean cut with minimal jagged edges.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good clipper for a reasonable price

    R. · June 8, 2014

I got this more than 2 years ago and have been using it ever since. Is it perfect? Definitely not, but neither are clippers by any other brand, including hugely overpriced models which are "made in Solingen, Germany" or the ones with "creative" names like "Clyppi" (if anyone will be claiming otherwise - most likely they are paid shills for certain company, and unfortunately Bolo attracts many of these). Is it sharp? Yes, it is, at least mine was and still is, even after all that time of regular usage. If yours wasn't - you might have gotten a defective one, just return it for replacement. You also have an equal chance of getting a defective (or improperly sharpened) unit from ANY other brand, that's what the warranty is for.Is it comfortable enough to use? For me - yes, BUT the shape of your hands and fingers (and other stuff like thickness and hardness of your nails) is most likely different so it might not be for you. Not the fault of the clipper, just try out other models with different shapes, you might find the one that will fit YOU the best.Is it a 100% stainless steel? Well, no - for example the lever is made out of some aluminum alloy but that has no effect on its functionality or durability. Is it durable enough? Yes, it is - mine still works well, no breakages of any kind, no rust, no peeling of any surface parts (even the sticker is still there!), although I don't try to shower it every day (I prefer to clip nails while they're still "dry").Does it leave the edges of your nails somewhat "rough"? Yea, it does - like I mentioned before the clipper is VERY sharp straight from the factory so depending on your nail's composition and thickness it may leave the edges of your nails also somewhat "sharp" to the touch. Of course you can always use a nail file (not included with this clipper, you need to buy it separately) to smooth out your nails or let them be smoothed out "naturally" over some time. Personally I don't mind it because the benefit of the sharper jaws (you do not need to squeeze the lever as hard as on most other clippers) really outweighs this minor drawback. Is it worth its price? For me - yes, especially compared to the junky "no-name" clippers you can get at your local pharmacy or any store which sells grooming items and which usually require much more effort to operate then start to go dull or break after a year or less. For you - I don't know, just try them out yourself and decide.

    Excellent coupe-ongles !

    M.5. · April 24, 2023

Amazing nail clipper. Would recommend to anyone.

    A.C. · September 12, 2014

This is a very solid and very sharp nail clipper. It is made in Japan and while it costs more than something you would buy at Walmart, it works better than any nail clipper I have ever used. I was originally concerned that my hands might slip while using this (lack of a grippy surface) but these have an ergonomic grip which is not only comfortable but it doesn't slip. What makes them better than any other nail clipper I have used, is the amount of pressure it takes to use. A small amount of pressure ends up making a nice clean cut. They are very sharp. Finally, unlike the cheap, chrome coated nail clippers, this is actually stainless steel. The cheap ones end up getting chipped and sometimes the coating simply flakes off.If you are looking for a sharp and high quality nail clipper you will not have to replace anytime soon, spend the extra money. you will not be sorry you did.

    Excellent

These are a superb product. I purchased these in 2020 (it's now 2025) and they are still as good as new and cut perfectly. I'm so glad I pushed the boat out to finally buy something of quality for this mundane task. Highly recommended, would buy again without hesitation.

    Top Cutter!

    I. · November 21, 2024

Absolute quality, cuts with precision due to the very sharp clips. No cracking of the nails at all, just like cutting with scissors. The best nail cutter I have ever had. It's certainly not small or big, a good size really.Definitely recommend to all.
