I am an oxygen dependent bed confined home patient. When you get continuous oxygen through a nasal cannula it literally tares your nostrils up. Your nostrils are dried out from the oxygen blast. A humidifier brings some relief, but it is imperfect at best. I asked my oxygen provider technician if there were any tricks to clear up cracking and bleeding nostrils due to oxygen use. He said to purchase water soluable lubricating gel and it would solve the problem. It would allow the nostril tissues to heal and be comfortable during oxygen therapy. Of course, my first stop was Bolo to find this nose saving gel. I decided on the individual packets as they would be sterile for use. My technician was absolutely spot on about the curative value of water soluable lubricating gel. Within two days of use, months of yuck and pain literally disappeared. I am much more comfortable. My breathing is not obstructed by sores and scabbing (tmi, but necessary). No more horrible nose bleeds. This product is much safer than vaseline which can flame up when used with oxygen. This product is a winner for oxygen users. I highly recommend this product.

If you cath then you know the trials when Surgilube was having issues with pre-packs. So, I trolled around for a replacement. This is the equivalent in every way of the Surgilube (I feel). The packets are a type of impregnated paper and tear very easily. Easy to dip catheter in packet. Just enough for one use. I make small "kits". Take catheter, tape one alcohol pad, one handi-wipe, and one lube packet to the catheter pack. Then you are ready to go with a small self-contained unit.

I have used this for the past 2 years for my tracheostomy needs. Works great for my needs as each package is sterile. I like that I can keep one in my pocket for emergency purposes, as living with a trach one must keep backups for such events. The low cost for as many packets as you get is almost a steal in my opinion. I buy multiple boxes at a time.

I had a female family member that required 24/7 care after hospitalization and a near death experience. Her body had shut down and her urination muscles hadn't kicked back in yet, so she still needed to be catheterized for urination, but couldn't do it herself. She was a little prone to UTI infections as well. All catheters and all lubricants are not created equal! I will spare you the details, but want to say that this had the right amount of slide, was sterile, and affordable. Our family is so grateful we found this. If you have extra supplies left after a patient has recovered please donate to a center in your community that donates this stuff. They saved us. There is a lot that medicare and medicaid do not cover and you wouldn't believe how much just the smallest things cost and how quickly it all adds up.

I only need to use a sterile lubricant occasionally. These packets are handy for small amounts and don't allow the other packets to be exposed to contaminants as might be the case with a tube of lubricant that has been opened. I have used three so far and each was fine; the lubricant is nicely slippery. I keep the box in a cool place as it may be a while before I use the entire box's contents. The supplier shipped this item on time.

The product itself is fine. However, the three boxes were shipped in a bag and not a box this time and ALL three boxes were crushed open and all the lubricant packages were loose inside the bag. Very poor shipping quality and very disappointing. We had to scoop all the individual packets into a large box we had at home.
