We bought this for a used boat we'd just purchased with a relatively clean bilge, or so we thought. Within a few hours of running it was already super nasty. I was afraid the things would have incredibly short life-spans, but I think it was just that the first use proved the bilge was dirtier than it looked. You might think about ordering 2 so you can change the first one quickly if you've not had one before, it works that well!

Not miraculous but works as advertised. I bought this to help make sure that oil, grease, or other pollutants don’t wind up getting pushed out the bilge. Our boat’s engines are due for replacement and do a fair amount of leaking oil. This does a good job of picking up globs of goop, but it isn’t perfect. In cases where the bilge fills up a bit I can see globs of oil come out. Still it is well worth the price.

These bilge rags do exactly what I need them to do and they were cheap I put one by everyone of my bilge pumps for safe and clean discharge.

I got an email that my boat had left a sheen on the water. Turns out it was just really old nasty bilge water but whatever oilly gunk that got in there this thing absorbed completely! What a life saver.
